4 boards 520W, 1000W SE HPS equivalent. Total cost just a little more than a good 315 CMH

Thanks Mag7. I'm so busy I am not making the rounds of other journals like I would like to. Once these lights are done then...wait whom am I kidding. I'm crazy busy for a long time to come lol. The water cooled propane gen is coming in less than a week!

Yeah, and I'm just laying on the couch wait on the girl to wake up so I can transplant ..

Those in the know, know that these are some of the baddest drivers in the business!

I agree, but you can get two 240Hs for the same price, with more flexibility ...

And 3% less efficiency.

But actually I agree Graytail I only bought these because when I went to buy some 240h-c2100b they were sold out Everywhere!!!!

Also I am planning on making a driver board in the room above the grow room. Run wires down through a hole in the floor already there for running cable. So these will be great! All my drivers will be away from the grow.

Thank you so much hash hound! I think the perlite may not wick enough to keep the soil properly moist. But it works in hempy so not sure why it failed. But if you wanted to try it again I would use actual soil as the wick.

I just had a thought! The eco pot looks like it is too easy to over fill with water. It doesn't look like enough air down in the bottom above the resevoir. That means it probably went anaerobic on you. And that means less effective roots and possibly root rot.

As far as filling my tubes I keep my tubes covered with that landscape fabric so there is no soil in between tubes to prevent flow of water from one to another. I think it would still fill if there were soil in between the pipes as some do but I wanted to keep water roots to a minimum and encourage more soil roots.

Shiggs

I did use soil in the second attempt with those pots, it seemed like it got enough water, but the plant just didn't like it.
I thought it would have done well with my supersoil blend, not needing top watering, but like I said earlier, I had to start top watering half way though the flowering cycle to save her.
I should have realized what is meant for a house plant sometimes needs tweaked a bit for weed growing.

as far as the drainage holes, if you see in that pic there is a rim about 2 inches up from the bottom and the air holes are in the bottom of the ledge. Plus I drilled some holes around the lower half of the pot.

If I tape over those holes, I think it would make a decent hempy since the ledge is 2 inches up. Watering from the top, using the fill tube just to check water level.

I thought you had that fabric wrapped around the tubes and the dirt was in between them, now I understand why you added the vertical tube for dirt.

Your box is similar to an Earth Box I had put together for an elderly neighbor for growing tomatoes.
Only it had 2 net cups on opposite corners for wicking up the water. and a screen the dirt sat on.
I was surprised in the directions the powdered fertilizer was to be placed on the top of the soil and then what looked like landscape fabric was placed over it. not sure how the water got all the way up there to utilize it at the root zone.

The earth box is a covered SIP like you are saying. It makes a little eco system
Where water condenses on the lower half of the cover and "rains" down on the top dressing feeding the soil.

That most certainly is a SIP! Does nappies mean diapers? If so that's a great repurposement. Got any pics of the final result?

Just dug that hole as outdoor season is around5 weeks away where I am, but I will document it here on 420 ,going to veg out the girls before they go outdoor to veg even longer then flower .
