SeedsMan Banana Jealousy Comparative Grow in 4x4 by LKABudMan

Kiko (Seedsman Banana Jealousy)
Date: 6/19/24 - Day# 57 Flip day# 9
Medium: 5G SIP bucket w/ Coco
Nutrients: 5.5g/G MC

Vivosun 4x4 w/ SGS & VSFD6450
Light: 60% Flowering spectrum 12/12 28DLI
Circulation: Natural Wind
Exhaust: 65%RH day / 55% RH night

Kiko is going through over a gallon of nutrients every day. I'm alternating between feeding her once or twice per day, although she is usually empty if I only fill her once. I added .5g/G BE this feeding as she ramps up to flower.

Yesterday she was getting a little too tall above the scrog net. So, I pulled all of her mains out a bit more, lowering them in the process. This also gives the inner branches a chance to catch up in the middle. It's almost time for this girl to flower, I don't want her getting too tall before her stretch.

Good Lord Man. :)

Thank you.

I've loving coco so far, just make sure it is rinsed and buffered well (I learned the hard way).
Yeah if i use it im going with canna, doing my research they seem to be the best out there right now. Tried some cheap bricks, and ran into major problems. But through my study of coco, ive learned alot about how it behaves. So now im ready. What brand do you use? And do u have to buffer and rinse it? Thats what im trying to avoid.lol

The brand I'm using for this grow is in the first post. It was prewashed and prebuffered so I just rehydrated.

Ok saw that, nutrifield. Gonna have to check them out they might be cheaper. Bc canna is high, compared to others.

You either pay to have the coco pre-washed and buffered or do it yourself and save some money. I'd rather pay a little more and save the time.

Definitely agree, ive washed and buffered once, no thanks!!! To old for that, ill pay extra. And really since you can reuse it, it actually might be cheaper than good soil.

I found when I add nutrients to Kiko's res 2x/day she drinks less. So, I've just been feedng her once/day, nearly filling her res every day. she hasn't compained about any dry spells.

I've been feeding and watching this lady daily. On June 22nd (day# 60, flip day# 12) she started flowering.

Since then I've been watching her mains stretch and grow, knowing they were getting too tall. Too tall for this tent, and too tall for the rest of the canopy.

What to do? I use something called a 'cannabender', a device used to supercrop and bend a branch. I've used them before on my Bubblegum grow and they worked well.

I ended up bending down all of the tall mains, filling in spots in the canopy that needed it. It bought her back down to the same level as the rest of the buds. I also increased the VSFD6500 to 65%. I'll give her a week to recover, then she gets her last big defoliation.

Hell yeah!! That SCROGing is looking good. I like those cannabenders too!! What a great little gadget!

Nice job with those clips, tried to use them on mines but stems got to hard. Plant looks great bro. Nice scrog too.
Thanks. They were very stiff and I had to pinch the hell out of the stems first, from all directions. I get them soft first then wrap them around the clips. They still tend to split a bit but that'll heal quickly.

Thanks man. Yea, I don't use the cannabenders much but they come in handy when you need them. The last time I used them was on a Bubblegum auto that got too big and it really worked out well.

Well, I'm back to feeding Kiko twice a day, at least most days. If I only fill her once, the res is dry by the next morning.

Kiko had no issues getting over her supercropping. The next day the buds on her bent stems had already turned up toward the light.

I noticed that one of her stems has a slight split, probably from early LST. It's solid now and supporting the branch with no issues.

Her buds are already getting pretty frosty, still with a hint of purple in there.

All-in-all she is looking fantastic for her third week of flower. I could probably remove some of the larf, and may still do that. For now I'm happy just watching her fill up the 4x4 tent!

Kiko is really drinking now! I fed her 8 liters on day, more than I've ever fed any plant in one day. I'm not keeping her res full, sometimes letting it go empty but never dry. She seems to like a break now and then.

I realized today that I never did much cleanup on Kiko. She had a lot of larf under the net. I removed most of it, and I'm just going to roll with the rest. It's always a shame to get rid of bud, but I should have got rid of it earlier.

She has some cracks/stress to her main trunk. Now that she's in the net it shouldn't be an issue, though.

She's looking fantastic coming into the end of her fourth week of flower. I reduced the RH slightly and will keep reducing through the end. I'll back off on the nutrients a bit as well, peaking in weeks 3-4 before going back down to .9g/G BE. She has some nice frosty little buds and a lot of them. She's filling up this 4x4 tent, not let's see how much weight she can pack on.
