Second Grow Ever!

This might also help Lissa. When I water out of my milk jug. Like right now. I have 5ml of flora grow and cal mag in the jug. And I have a jug clean water. Ofcourse chems jug is for flowering and clean water for veg..
When flowering with chems in it. Gets about half or 1/4 of it I add my clean water to dilute it I keep rotating the water . As I fill up I dilute same time that way I never over chem them.. if that makes since

Oh see another thing no one is perfect. See this one I have.. and not one chem been given or will be given plant will work it out. Had another one did this last grow. Idk why nor ever found out for sure. So I didn't give any chems . But cal mag. I have too with my dirt.

That makes total sense

I noticed a lot of people have gravel in their pots. Is there a reason why? Am I missing something?
Lmao. I guess I started that . People asked me why. . It's for water displacement. So water will spread around not go into the soil in one spot. That way whole pot is even getting water.

So you have no consistency in terms of dilution rates each time or plant to plant?

No I water about same amount each time. Just don't keep pouring chems to it until it has issues.. plant not designed to chemicals processed by man.. I start out giving a dose. Then I dilute the water and when I run out in that jug I start over.. that way it does get chemicals after chemicals. After chemicals.. easyier on the plant.. got to ask would you like to be drugged up all the time with sht . Or would just want to grow up normal. Instead of steroid up

I do. I add 5 ml of cal mag to my water once a week. And 3 tblsp molasses to 1 gal water. But I just think I have over watered. And I haven’t been adding anything to my BD or GSC because they are not in flower.
Now calMag is strong chemical plant does need but little bit. Every 3 weeks . So always keep that in mind.. seems people have a bad issue burning plants. And locking up that nute.. it's just like a person. U give give give the body does need it and u still give it and u get sick.. calcium is hard. And magnesium is a metal. Now to much of both . Well you will know.

I think consistency, or at least tracking a known quantity of inputs, is important. If you don't do it that way then you are just guessing at a solution when an issue comes up.
But I just think I have over watered.
I thought you said the pots were "surprisingly light" when you lifted them before watering? And, if that is true, and you find that situation every day, or every other day, then I would still maintain that the issue for that plant is under watering. Exactly the opposite issue we helped you with on your small plant. That one was over-watered.

Dust and I are giving you two very different suggestions on watering. He thinks you are dramatically overwatering your plants. He said he gives his 5 gallon pots about a cup of water every 2-3 days. So let's say every 2 days to be generous. That's an average of 4 oz per day in a 5 gallon, or 640 oz container. 4/640=0.00625 or a little over half a percent of container volume on average per day.

I find my mix will hold about 25% of container volume of water when it is thoroughly watered.

Shed, a very knowledgeable and accomplished grower, told you he waters his 7 gallon containers with 2 gallons (2/7=28.57%). He also told you that @StoneOtter (another very accomplished grower) waters his 10 gallon pots with 2 gallons in mid-flower every other day (or 20%).

All of these waterings are roughly in the same ballpark percentage-wise, but drastically different from Dust's one half of 1%.

So, if your plants don't have good color and the pots are surprisingly light every other day when you pick them up, I still maintain that those plants are both hungry and thirsty.

The more times you can water them with a large amount of water, and therefore a larger amount of nutrients, the faster and larger they will grow. The challenge is you have to develop the roots to handle that amount of water. Your little plant that was struggling did not have a sufficient root system when you up-potted it and that is why it looked the way it did.

So, you're going to have to pick a side because Dust's and my advice are polar opposites.

You still haven't told us what, if anything, you are feeding your plants or, if you are trying to do a 'water-only' grow, what you amended your soil with a month or so before you planted and what you are using for microbes.

So let's have you answer that question next. I think we can get you sorted, but need some background first.

Ultimately it's your grow and they're your plants so you'll have to make the call on all of this. We all are just trying to give you info that was hard won to help shorten your learning curve.

Ok. AZ. For one you kept telling her they look hungry hungry and water water water . Not me I been sitting here watching for past week. And tell you the truth until I see you grow something. I would listen to you if my plants life was in the balance.. I been telling her to find what works for her. Not to just go do something someone says cause I see u on multiple people journals telling bad information. Or suggestions that ends up hurting there plants.. two matter of fact . So yeah. She need to find what works for her. Not you not me. . I told her what I do that might help in watering and chems. Cause tell you the truth if anyone did what you say. I guarantee their plant will lock up drown or die . And before you say one word. My plants speak for them selves.

Pretty well-moderated 7D! I've seen a lot worse here. :)
I swear. Alot worse. And people saying do this do that just gets under my skin. And most time it's wrong information. They don't know what that person done or did do. Or wanted to do. . Yeah suggest. Give ideas. If you know. But don't know stfu. Let them figure it out don't cloud their mind up cause u think your best growers in the world. General speaking. . Now guy like you shed. Otter and bill and many more. Yes . I would even listen and take in big consideration. But this guys and that flip guy I seen enough on there suggestions.. I hate it too. That what I said few days ago. I getting to end of rope seeing and reading them suggestions they given.. but I'm done. I feel better. Just hate it was on Lissa journal. She trys so hard and doing good. And wam. Someone screwing her mind up. We all learn hard way. Not one person here has not gone Thur the pain. Unless they are a botany person.. and they screw up too.

For another point of view, I water my girls in 5gal cloth pots about 1.5gal every two days. I just had to start giving them a liter of water on off days or they get too dry after two days. I know it varies depending on how big your roots are, how dry the room is, how long in flower, etc.
