Second Generation Purple Marmalade

Ok, she's a second generation purple marmalade. The seed came from some medical my daughter got. So in a sense she's a hermi, I know some you don't like hermies but it's all I've grown for over 10 years now. If I'm careful there should be no problems.put the seed in a wet paper towel on the 9th on the 10th she popped open an I put her in the soil

I can tell y'all rite up front this grow is going to be a struggle. I can barely keep up with my utilities now. But they can't shut me off until March... so if I fall behind I'm sure the power Co. will understand. heat will be an issue, not so much during veg cause 18 hrs of light will keep her warm enough. but I have oil heat an need to stretch the 100 gallons I have an make it last. from reading thru the fourms I see I'm not alone in struggling thru this winter. stay positive my brothers an sister's things have to get better cause I can't see how much worse it can get

I understand about the utilities.
It's a bugger these days.
A seedling heat mat under the pot might help.
It'll keep the pot warm when the lights are out and they are cheep to run.
Cheaper than the furnace.
Hope everything goes well.
Take care.

She's looking g a bit bigger, I can see the next set of leaves starting. Have to start figuring out how to get a fan blowing on her without losing to much heat

I'm going up pot her today into the big container, I know I should go into a few different size containers before going into the 8 gal but it's gives peace of mind knowing that if I wind up in the hospital she can fend for her self for a few days. When I lifted her up this morning I noticed roots growing out the drainage holes. So once the body loosen up she get a new hone with nice nutez so she can grow big an strong

Welp, that was easy enough. according to coast of Maine the Stonington blend in an 8 gal container she can go 8 weeks without adding additional nutez. But we'll play it by ear

As soon as leaves appear they require nutrients to sustain them.
Some nutrients can be derived from the soil yes.
But she isn't picking up everything she needs.
The reason I asked is because she looks hungry. :Namaste:
I'd feed some weak nutrients with nitrogen.
200 ppm ish to start.
I'd also feed that pot with a microbial tea to get some life going.
Just what I would do.
You do what you deem best.
We all have our own method. :thumb:
Hope everything is going well today my friend.
Take care.

Hey Bill, whatever advice you have to offer is greatly appreciated. At heart I'm just a dirt farmer I learned from my father who learned from his. So outside I have a bit of a clue as to what I'm doing, but indoors it's all guess work and a tiny bit of intuition. All I have for veg nutez is some roots organics terp tea 7-1-1 it can be used as a top dressing or mixed with water an bubbled? My last grow I tried shaking a bottle of it for for a few days... not sure if that worked or not. But I'm a try it again. I may not really know what I'm doing... but I try an I put all my heart into it and I'm not too fussy so as long as I end up with something to smoke and a few month of growing entertainment I'll be happy in the end

Absolutely and your doing a great job.
Everyone has their own way.
I prefer to push my girls at all times.
Just the way I prefer.
Your fine as you were absolutely.
I just like to feed feed feed and feed again. :morenutes:
Doesn't work for everyone but works for me.
Some light nutrients would help but she will plod along just fine for a bit also.
It's nice your father taught you how to grow.
Was that what he did? Or just an avid gardener?
And great you figured out so much on your own afterward.:thumb:
Keep up the good work Amigo.
Talk soon.
