I was looking at those rh controllers on amazon as well . I see they have a combo temp meter and rh meter together for under $100. You and dutchman gave them such high praise I will have to pick one up for myself soon.
Good morning N420,
I ended up with the same as Dutch, the IHC 200, fwiw, no temp readout as I had enough of those kicking around ;)
Dutch has his working with the 600HID and is happy with it, where I am using mine with LED's right now, but going to HID shortly.
It will be harder no matter what to maintain RH with HID lights since the fans are always sucking out the air. LEDs run cooler allowing the RH controller to work great.
@Dutchman1990 can probably add his comments on it as well as he's been using it longer.

I absolutely love the controllers! Walking by the tents I can see the temps and humidity levels without opening them and it makes it so much easier!! So far my experience with them has been nothing but positive and I wouldn’t set up my grow areas without them now!

For maintaining a precise environment I would HIGHly recommend!

Hey Bobby, thanks for dropping in. I've used it on my current grow and just harvested my PE. I was happy with the results.

It handles just like FFOF and most likely will be my goto down the road.

That’s awesome. I’ve been running FFOF at around $17 for the big bags. I can’t recall the similar size of the organic MG, I think it was around $12. Not much price difference. A local business buys the FFOF by the palette. And loves to brag about how good it works on “tomatoes”.... I believe he is speaking in code, but I just agree and move on. I’m currently running a successful 2nd run in the same soil, knock on wood. Just switched over to flower.
:yummy:

:reading420magazine:All caught up finally Mr. Sauga. I pulled up the recliner  I’ll be using ffof for the first few grows, using the trio as nutes. Not opposed to switch things up based on better results. Thx for your detailed journals.
Welcome JD! I see you took my favorite recliner! It's all good ;)
Nothing wrong with FFOF. I use it too and swear by it. I seen the MG stuff and like Bobby mentioned it was cheaper, and also doesn't have the time released nutes most MG products have in it.
Thanks again for dropping in!

It's not much price diff, but one bag does just under one 5gal pot, so in a room of four the savings is noticeable. After this grow, if all worked out good, I'll be 100% sure it's good to use.

I often wondered how much FF soil it took to fill a 5 gallon since it seemed pretty expensive. So you are saying just over a bag, and a bag is $17? Ouch! Out of a Pro Mix bale, I get 8 - 5 gallons for $40 (or $5 each). Yes I realize it's kind of apples to oranges, one is soil with some kind of nutrients and one is soil-less with no nutrition. Doesn't the FF stuff only carry a grow so long then growers have to turn to turn to a bottle? At least my thinking, if I'm gonna use a bottle for nutrients, I'll just start em that way from the beginning. I can feed for an entire grow for under the $12 cost difference (about $5 per plant for nutes start to finish). #ramblingsofatightass

I have been using the ProMix BX for two years now and can't be happier unless someone were to give me something free that worked equally as well. Things I like about the ProMix BX is that out of the bag is has a good bit of perlite in it although I do add about 20% more as I like a good draining "soil". I also like the fact that is has nothing else in it with the exception of mycorrhizae. So I know exactly what my plants are eating and drinking because I'm the one who puts it in the mix. I plant my cuttings in the ProMix BX and my cloning rate is quite good.

And because it is what it is I experimented with reusing some this summer. I knocked out as much root matter as I could from five 3 gallon root balls and managed to collect a little over 10 gallons of pretty clean "once used" ProMix BX. I filled two 5 gallon buckets and grew a Colombian Gold plant in each bucket. The plants grew extremely well and healthy and with the yield I feel it was a great success. I am on a tight budget so saving wherever I can is important to me.

Is it the best growing medium in the world?

Yeah, locally for the big bags @ $17. It fills 2 5 gallon buckets. At that price, it’s hard to beat... Go to FF website and do a search for local distributors.

Oh, so $17 fills 2 containers. That's better. I thought y'all were spending $17 a piece.

It's funny sometimes, or maybe not funny, when it makes sense as you are typing it out in your head, but then realize it's not what others think you meant.

One bag fills my 5 gal with some leftover. The bags of MGOS are 28L. I'm assuming the FFOF is the same since I end up getting two full pots per bag when I mix with compost.

I always worry what I say will be received wrong and people will think I'm being an asshole. It's never (ok, maybe not never but at least not most of the time) meant to be that way.

Hi everybody!

Day 9 Update

Here's a pic of the THC Bomb in FFOF. I gave her a small dose of food to get her going a bit. The ring of water was pretty heavy and goes down deep. I'm trying to slowly get the whole pot wet over a period of time while not overwatering the plant.
For feed she was given 500mL of water at 210ppm .5g of MC and .1g of kelp extract. pH was 6.5, and the PPM was heavy overall at 600. I don't recommend a PPM this high to anyone this early, but it's an auto and I'm trying to get her beefed up fast. It's really an experiment for me. The water is far enough away where I don't think it'll be too much of an issue. We'll see soon enough.

Next is the other THC Bomb in MGOS. this is the first time she has had a little water, mixed with the same nutes as her sister, above.
She's trying to catch up in growth and was a day later above the soil, so I may prop the sister on a stool and raise the lights a bit to help her stretch.

Finally we have GG in FFOF. Short and stout. I'm not sure if it's a characteristic of hers or not, but I gave her a bit more water closer to the stem as she seemed droopy. Normally I would say overwatering but the pot was never moistened from the beginning and she never had a lot of water to begin with either. Straight water, no nutes for her yet.

Pics of Fan and Controllers

The first pics are of the T6 fan hanging inside the tent and the controller outside. This unit is super light and is easily hung, or mounted on studs as they recommend.

The next pics are the RH controller and the probe. The controller lower readout says zero. It's actually the setpoint of 50.0 but the flash wiped out the first digits. Like Ducthcie said, these units are awesome. I'll be buying another for the dry tent since my low 'n slo dry fridge is filled to capacity.

OK, that's it for this update. Stay well everyone! :Rasta:

Lovely fan and controller mr.Sauga, $$ on the controller is not bad at all..... Even by my pocket...lol

Those pics are just pure porn..hahaha

Evening mr.Sauga smoked some Guava Kush today which glued to me to whatever surface I was sitting on....haha, although it's supposed to be a full sativa strain I got knocked by an indica variety that got mixed in somewhere along the line....

Very heavy in the mind and body, and my back pain is at a minimum which is right down my alley, best of all is free seeds with it, I can smell a project looming one of these days " the hunt for the true guava " sounds impolite....

Gardens doing great brother and the littlest ones are coming along nicely bar a hiccup or so.....
Have a great day, and blessed weekend vibes..

Hi Smeegs, and good day to you! :)
Yes, so far it's worked just as expected. In order to keep the RH down in the house I have the little ones going from 45-50% RH all day/night long. The true test will be once the HID goes in and fans running all the time.

lol, sometimes a good lockdown is good for the body... enjoy the mix!

The most important thing is reducing the pain for you, so as impolite as it sounds ;) hunt on!

Thanks for popping by Smeegs and enjoy this weekend. We are finally getting above the freezing mark for the next forseeable future, so good times ahead as well over here. :)

With temps rising will you be heading outdoors again...?

Last I heard a few of us were going to try and do a comparative grow, or challenge, of @seedsmans Gelato OG this summer. I'll be dropping mine around mid-late april inside then once warm enough, out she goes. So ya definately outside!
