I decided to raise the MC yesterday from 3.0 grams / gallon to 3.5 grams / gallon. I didn't notice any changes in the plants today. I will feed them at this level if they show no ill effects maybe till they start to flower? That is a question.

I am thinking I have 4 nodes now as far as I can see. Hope to see that 5th node ASAP so I can get them topped. The mother/father of my cross, Quarter Pounder auto is a late blooming strain. Closer to 30ish days I believe. So that might give me a little longer for the 5th node to grow out.

Hey MrSauga, I came over from Shed’s journal have been reading through this journal and going to start your second one now also...
Your opening intro was great I laughed a couple times through out it. The little umbrella was a pretty cool ingenious idea, I like that.
Good detail and some great answers to questions, I’ll be following along to watch and learn. I’m interested in the different soil chat also, was a interesting thread to read.

DAY 13 Update

Hey everybody!

OK day 13 and the THC Bombs are on track. The one in FFOF is the strongest and will most likely be the best of the two. It broke soil a day before the others and never looked back. I still have her on the platform higher than the others and she's responding well.

Here's the one in MGOS... she's handling things just as well, just behind by about two days of growth.

The GG in FFOF may not amount to much. These seeds have been nothing short of useless. I'm not counting on that third seed to pop the ground although it had a fair size tap. The one in the pic that is growing in FFOF does not want to grow very fast at all.

The RH you see is because the tent is open. When it's closed I'm running 55% RH.

Today's Summary
All the plants are doing good in their own way. The GG is healthy, just slow, which isn't helping but it is growing. All the plants will be getting a good feeding again tomorrow. They handled 400ppm and 600ppm no problem so it's time to rock and roll.

I found these pot lifters on Zon for around 4-5 bux each. I got the 13" size and the 16" size. The smaller ones are perfect for me in the tent, as you will see below, and the larger ones for the 7gals outside this summer.

:Rasta:

Damn you zon and here in deepest darkest Africa we been using rocks for that pot lifter thing....haha looking good mr.Sauga. It's a pity as I was looking forward to seeing how the GG went, from what I've seen the GG by fastbudZ is the winner for me although I've still to grow mine.

I will tell you how I do it Beez. I purposely bring mine up until I see the tips turning color. If you look closely, and it may not happen on all strains, the tips will turn a darker green first before yellowing. I try and get the tips slightly burnt so I know the upper limit. I then back off 5-10% of whatever that weight was of my last feeding.
Once I get to flower the feed goes up pretty quick as well, all judging by the colors.

Hey PD! Welcome to my Journal!
Thanks for the kind words! I'm glad you're enjoying it here. If you have any questions or want to post your own pics or criticism, feel free! Hopefully everyone learns something!

Ha, not so fast my fine friend from South Africa. Guess who came out for breakfast this morning? You guessed it! The second GG is finally making he debut. I think she's going to make it. Looks lovely under the umbrella too! Pics later tonight.
So were all set, 2 THC and 2 GG. The second GG may have to go in a tent on her own depending on the height difference.

Well, I have accidently become a test dummy. Some of my rooted clones needed to be fed today as did the auto flower plants in this grow. So I went to mix a half gallon of feed for them at 50% strength (3-3.5 grams MC) but like a dumb ass I didn't adjust based on making just half a gallon. So I used approximately 1/2 of what I normally use for 1 gallon and mixed it into a half gallon which essentially gave me a 1/2 gallon of full strength nutes. Probably a little less then 3.25 grams / half gallon. If that don't kill them it will only make them stronger. Hey that could be a song!

Are you using tap water? What's the PPM of the water, if any, that you are using?

If I use my tap PPM at 208, and used your calculations of 6.5g/gal (3.25/half gal) then your PPm is over 1200, your E.C. is over 2.5 and your N load is 166ppm.
So yes it's hot. The EC is high at well over 2, but the N is just over the recommended of 150ppm. You most likely will see some tip burn this go around ;)

Quote or no quote it's hit or miss whether I get a notification.

Well if I don't get any burnt tips would you suggest continuing the feeding at that dosage? I forget what the PPM of my well water is but seem to remember it being like 125 or thereabouts.

No, I would definately bring it down at this stage, to around 4.5g/gal which will give you a N load of 115ppm, a nute PPM of 843 and your EC now comes down to 1.69.
This is assuming you have tap water at around 205ppm. If the solubles in your water are less than 205 then you can increase the MC, and if higher, reduce the MC.

Well water from the ground. And not sure how it affects the numbers but I use the MC 1.0 Not the new MC 2.0

Day 14 Update

Today was water and feed day. All the pots haven't been getting a lot of water so today they each got 2L. In that mix was the following:

8L tap water @ 205PPM
3g of MC
.85g of Kelp Extract

pH = 6.4
H2O temp = 66.5

Not much to report on so just a few pics today.

THC Bomb in FFOF

THC Bomb in MGOS

GG in FFOF

And.... GG in MGOS!:happy-birthday:

I use 1.0 as well, and also have the 21lb bag! :high-five:

Your well water probably has a higher PPM value. Have you ever tested it? If not, can you test it?

Well I thought it was down closer to 125 but it would seem to be somewhat higher.

I can include that photo or does that violate the site rules. It is my understanding that if I don't type it out the photo is okay? I apologize if I messed up.

Well I thought it was down closer to 125 but it would seem to be somewhat higher.
Sweet, nice low numbers!
So I wouldn't go anymore than 4.5g/gal right now, assuming you are only using MC and no other supplements
You PPM for nutes would be around 790, N load of 115PPM, and EC of 1.58. So the N is what causes the tip burns, and you PPM is low enough where you should be OK. Just keep an eye on it and we'll try and give her more soon after.

Eh, I just deleted it. I don't want to make any waves.
