I would take that harvest anytime. Looks like you got an average of about 21% return on your wet weights. I also use a drying screen on my larger harvests. It has 8 screens about 36" in diameter and can come in very handy. Mine also folds up to almost nothing, easy for storage.

Sounds like the same screen, or very close. I loved it. Working left to right I didn't have to move more than a step and laying a bud down is much easier than trying to hang it. :) It did take a few minutes to figure out how to collapse it, but once it is folded up it barely takes up 14" diameter and 4" thick.

Mephisto... tell Roscoe "No farting dammit!"

Roscoe promised not to fart if you'll keep your shoes on Tead. :biglaugh: We were talking about it this morning while we made the rounds in the barn. The Toofless Alien is in the front running. Mostly because I have five seeds and it can get up to 120cm. Yeah I know, 120 in dwc means 150cm, but I need to redeem myself in Roscoe's eyes. He seems a little disappointed in our efforts this year.

I don't grow in soil, but she looks good to me Irish. Nice color and a pretty flat canopy. :thumb: It's a lot more work than I put into them for sure. :biglaugh: I am a practitioner of the Lazy Grower Style......Drop, water, and chop. ;)

24 hours after stuffing the cVault full, the hygrometer is reading 58%. Not a problem. I put two of the large 62% Boveda packs in the top of the cVault, and will check it again tomorrow morning. :thumb:

The AU are starting to fade. They've been on nothing but water and Flawless Finish since Sunday. They will probably get chopped between Saturday and Monday sometime. Depends on the weather and if I have anything else to do this weekend. :)

A quick glance in the 4x4 and the DDAs are speeding along. #3 & 4 received a bit of defol, just enough to open them up for better light penetration. #1 & 2 are darkening up, #2 not quite as much but she's coming along. Looks like she is going to be the biggest too, already 28" this morning. :goof: Water change for them is tomorrow so be sure to check back for photos.

Until then, peace out y'all. It's 4 wheeler weather and I'm off to play. :peace:

Day 56 and a water change for the Dark Devils. DD1 & 2 are continuing vertical growth. They are now at 26" and 28.75" respectively. Remember 1 & 2 only made 24.5 and 26.5 inches. DD4 continues to get the full compliment of AN additives at full dosage, while the others get a minimum diet of mgb and cal-mag only.

I have thinned 3 & 4 a bit to further the light penetration, and the others will get the same treatment as soon as they stop growing and begin the bloom process fully. Until then all me and Roscoe have to offer are some photos of today's activities. We hope you enjoy them. Don't forget to click on them for larger versions. :)

Peace Out, See y'all later. :peace:

DD1, grew 4.75", drank 20.5qts

DD2, grew 6.5", drank 25qts !

DD3, drank 14qts

DD4, drank 12qts

The colors are beautiful. Dark Devil at its nicest. :goodjob:

Thanks Jim. :)

I could be given 10k sq ft of warehouse to grow in and I'd be bitching there wasn't enough room within six months. Gotta grow one of every strain right ? :;):

Help me out folks. I'm thinking about changing nutrients from the AN I've been using to something less expensive, yet still pH buffered. Any suggestions ? Clicking through Al Gore's magical inter webby, Botanicare's CNS17 grow and bloom seems like it should fit my needs. Experience anyone ?

If you're doing dwc in 5 gallon buckets what are you using ? 1,2,3 part ? pH buffered ? If not how awful is your water and how often are you adjusting pH ?

Yeah I know it's a lot of questions for a hump day evening, but I'm feeling like I've gone off the track this last grow and I'm willing to learn/try something new. :)

Thanks.:thankyou:

I was looking at remo nutrients cuuz i thought they were cheaper but they cost as much as AN if not more. I am interested too. I like my results with AN and the prices dont kill me but i would love to shave a little more of my nute bill and put it towards a led upgrade. Like to use less electricity but still get the bang of my hid.

Hey Rifleman! I'm using General Hydroponics nutes and I'm not sure I like them. I didn't know about nutes that are pH buffered before starting this project and I wish I had. I'm having lots of leaf problems because I think the phosphorus is too high from having to use lots of pH down with my tap water. My water comes out at 9.2 pH. Even after adding my nutes, I still need to lower the pH another point or so to get to my desired 5.8 (though I've been settling for 6.1 lately). Of course, I don't add the pH down to the reservoir, just to the water I need to top up with every day....

I'll be interested in knowing what you settle on, as I want to switch for the next grow and see if I have the same problems.

I have some gh micro and bloom & calimagic laying around. Whats the shelf life on nutes? Ill probably do a quick lucas method grow if i get a spare bucket just because i dont like to waste $ but yeah, chelated nutes make things a bit more simple if youre lazy. Lol

My thoughts exactly Laz. :) When I started growing I used Humboldt nutrients and did well enough to score potm and didn't even really know what a I was doing. :biglaugh: Looking back and reevaluating since then, I don't see the AN has done a better job. Just made it easier by eliminating pH checks. However if I **were** to check pH with the AN line, I'd find it only drops pH to 6.1 with my water, and calcium deficiencies abound under the led.

Yeppers, it's time to try something new and economical. I hear a COB light calling my name.

9.2 ! Wow, and I thought my water was crap. There are several companies making buffered, or chelated nutrients so checking pH can be a thing of the past. I was pretty disappointed when I found out about them, and that my local supplier had not told me about them from the beginning. :icon_roll

I've always called my style the Lazy Grower way to do things. I don't know what the shelf life is Laz, but I buy in gallons and they last a little over a year before they are empty. So at least that long. :biglaugh:

Happy Harvest Friday !

The AU(day 104) harvest is starting later this morning. I'm tired of looking at them and need the time to clean the tent, hydroton, etc. I should have some Short Stuff beans to drop soon. The plan is currently to start them along side some of my own F1 seeds under the hps. I'll move them to the led to bloom after the dark devils are out of the way, and start four more under the hps. Most likely two Toofless Alien and two Sour Stomper, both possible 120cm plants.

Yes I know 120 turns into 150+ in dwc, but I can't help myself. I have a tree fetish. I'll see y'all in a while, I've got some killing to do. :Namaste:

I didn't realize myself that the nutes were being made chelated. So this eliminates the need to pH? Is that what you gentlemen are suggesting? Hmmm...... I'll have to take a better look at the bottles when they come in. It's so strange that I keep winning all this stuff I don't necessarily need, but that I know nothing about because I grow with a soil system that I don't plan to change. But I will have my ongoing hempy project to keep me playing.

Graytail and 36 figured out while I was sleeping that my new light won't even fit into the smaller tent. It may be time to break out the larger tent again. Lol!

AU harvest update. 1 down, 1 to go. Slow going, the leaf to bud ratio is quite high so I'm spending way more time than I like trimming sugar leaves. It's break time now, will start back in an hour or two.

Look for a photo dump later this evening after everything is cleaned up, and I have time to relax. :) Peace y'all.:peace:

Yepper. Chelated nutes reduce the needed frequency of ph checks. I still check though, because i have had some pretty low dips in ph at times. I was reading an article on making your own hydro nutes and how you can add a chelating agent(i believe it was a form of EDTA) might be worth checking out if it will save $.

I just finished cleaning up everything from the hatchet attacks today. :) I know I said I'd drop some photos tonight, but I've got some other stuff that has to get done. Sorry folks.:sorry: I'll do my best to have something up in the morning before 10am New York time.

I'll leave a photo of one of the top branches that were supercropped, just as a teaser. :biglaugh:

That's exactly what it means. :) I've been using the AN pH Perfect line and haven't checked pH in over a year until this week.

Break out? I can't imagine putting a tent away. If it wasn't for the CEO I'd sleep on the couch, cook on the grill, and have a tent in every room of the old place.

Hey Chuck old buddy! Have you ever tried Charlies compost here in Kentucky? Great stuff. Im going to get a few hundred pounds right now. Hope things are going well for you. Best of luck in all you grow!

Glad to see you amble through UPH. :ciao: A few hundred pounds ? :whoa: Yep, it sounds like the Hillbilly forest retreat is going to be in full swing come planting time. :high-five:

Making my own nutrients is a tempting idea, but it sort of goes against my Lazy Grower Creed.
