Rifleman's Roost Open 24/7: Perpetually Perplexed

Nothing to smoke yet today. :yikes: I did eat a brownie around 7:15. :) I've been adding water and checking ppm, but for some funny reason I'm having trouble concentrating. My thoughts just keep skipping. I'm not sure, but those damn squirrels I keep seeing might be plotting revenge for my chicken massacre. They always were chummy with each other. If Winter doesn't take care of them me and Roscoe will be eating squirrel and dumplings come Spring. :drool:

Plants, oh yeah, I was going to tell you what's going on. :) I haven't really been keeping track of ppm readings during top offs for the last ten days or so, but looking today and back at my meager notes, it's easy to tell my girls are thirsty only. Water level going down and ppm going up, no matter what pH is doing, tells me to cut the feed a bit until the girls start eating again.

I'll list today's data below. A quick note on the Mephisto family, I've been culling. :rofl: From the start you might say. M4 is the only one left on day 54. Out of the entire fiasco I'll get a couple of bowls. Meh, oh well. I'll get some in buckets one day. So many strains, so little time and space. :smokin2:

AU1 day 60, ppm 1220, added 5.5qts, ppm 1020
AU2 day 60, ppm 1240, added 5.5qts, ppm 977
SS1 day 61, ppm 1050, added 4.5qts, ppm 903
SS2 day 61, ppm 981, added 2.5qts, ppm 896

Ooooooo...... Do you occasionally go to just stand in the jungle? Just a few moments of bliss and allow yourself to feel satisfied?

I know I would. Can't stand in these teeny tents. *sigh* The 4x4 remains boxed up. It was such a tease to have that one up. Someday.....

My brownie's hitting full force as I type. Dang! I keep expecting it to slow down. A week in now? I'm losing track Rifleman. :laughtwo: This is becoming my new "normal." :rofl:
 
Rifleman, I've been meaning to inquire, do your cells vibrate when you have these super-potentiated brownies?

My whole body will begin to vibrate at a consistent rate that I can feel. It's the strangest, most wonderful feeling ever. I'm hoping you're getting this same effect. We're smoking the same strain, correct? The DDA? I'm starting to get really excited here. :battingeyelashes:

I stand in my tent daily. Some days several times a day. Every morning they each get a 90 deg rotation, a water level check, then the hairy eyeball until I'm satisfied I've huffed enough CO2 on them. :)

I can't say I vibrate, but I only used 10g of dd trim out of 56g total this time. It was the last I had of it. I'll try again, dda only, in about 100 days after these girls quit lollygagging. :biglaugh:


 
Day 14 and the dark devils got a water change. All are pushing out fifth node growth. :thumb:

Edit: Downloaded a lux meter app for the phone. I don't know how accurate it is, but it gives a point of reference for placing the girls under the light. Currently they are getting ~15k lux at the center top of each plant.









 
Today is day 64 from breaking ground for my Six Shooters. They showed sex on day 21. Fast Buds claims 63 days from germination to harvest. :rofl::rofl:

Vertical growth stopped 13 days ago. I'm expecting another 26 days at least. Any time before that will be icing on the cake.

I call it the curse of dwc, but I've almost figured out a formula for it. Take what ever time estimate the breeder gives for seed to harvest, start that count down from the day first pistils show... then add a week... or two. :biglaugh:

What do y'all think? :)







 
i agree,, two or three even,, the potential reasons why breeders might fudge their harvest numbers are perty darn obvious i would think,, these days when everyone wants everything right bloody now please

now,, my q to you rif, iffin i might,, does that extra two weeks, or one or three, whatever the number,, does it make a difference in anyway to the buds?? taste?? potency?? smoothness??

just curious is all

i am leaving my fruit on the vine till it darn near falls off on it's own,, for now anyway,, cheers pa

p.s.,, do you think that dwc is slowing things down?? different than soil as far as maturity rates??,, curious agin,,
 
I started counting my flowering time after stretch is done and now my times mostly match breeder times. Everything else in dwc happens so fast that waiting for the flowers to finish seems like it takes foreverrr.

I've never cut one near the breeders time line, so the only thing I know for sure is... wait equals weight. Lots of fattening to go yet. :)

Soil seems to mature them quicker, IDK why. I'll take the ease, and increased yield of dwc every time. :)

No joke. From seedling to four foot seems overnight. Fat sticky buds are slow as Santa. :biglaugh:

I don't bother even looking at them anymore. It's impossible to say how long these strains will go in every growing medium. I harvest by trichome color. And I agree about DWC or any kind of hydro, I'm seeing the same with coco.

The oven is on, bud in the jar, and I'm anxiously waiting for it to be my first smoke tomorrow. SweetSue is waiting on a smoke report and I'm looking to get high... er. :)

Which reminds me, it's time for a brownie. I've got to go to town in a bit and I just don't see it happening without a major BUZZzzzzzzzz.
