Rifleman's - Multi-Strain Auto Grow - 600W - Hydro

A big fat wet sounding...............................Congratulations.

So I was quite concerned about whAt you said so I did some research and found a great article! If you don't wanna read it, it basically says no lead is used for solder because of preasure. It s absolutly safe and falls way below regulatory water test standards.
Free Water? Dehumidifier Water and Consumable Plants | Maximum Yield Indoor Gardening Magazine

From everything I've read, dehumidifier water is near pure, and the only reason you wouldn't want to drink it is because of bacteria. Should definitely be safe for plants, and cleaner than tap.

Getting a largish dehumidifier soon myself, planning to just hook the hose to drain to my swick reservoir.

I use the water from the a/c unit without any probs. Added bonus is that the ph is already in range without needing to adjust, this saves a bit of time.
:Namaste:

I feel like a young whipper snapper in here. That means I can learn something here. My mom had a Nova, she traded for a Toyota. Yeah, I know you don't have to say anything.

In regards to using other sources of water.... I'm getting a lot of snow soon.... heh?

Not much happening here today except for the rain. I saw the chickens in the canoe paddling past the ducks, jeering and throwing beer cans at them a while ago. The hogs have all moved to higher ground and left to forage for themselves as I'm not trekking through the mud and muck to take them a snack and scratch their backs with my walking stick. They aren't happy about it either. The old sow gave me the ASL "you're number one" finger when she saw me let the cat inside. I had better watch my back until we get some sunshine here and everyone's mood improves.

On to grow related news. After consulting with my friend Oldergrower and his professional knowledge as an electrician, it has been determined that I am currently at my amperage limit for the circuit of my grow room. IOW, unless I want to run more wire from the breaker box (I don't), or run heavy duty extension cords from other circuits in the house (I don't) I will not be running both the Mars II 1200
.......................................................................... :thanks::420: Mars Hydro and everyone who voted for my potm............................................

and the hps at the same time. SO, what to do? The only logical thing of course; figure out a place to put another tent in the house.:biglaugh: The Mars will be taking it's place up front in my main tent and I am retiring the hps until I can round up the needed items to expand.

And speaking of expansion, we were weren't we? I don't know, I blink and wake up in different worlds some days. Anyways, expanding. The Roost's seed stock will be expanding soon also. An order was placed yesterday with another one of our fine seed bank sponsers. Wouldn't it be great if the monthly contests included prizes from our seed sponsors? :) The new stock will contain some variety packs of autos, because I have a hard time choosing and that way I don't have to Lol, and a bunch of other stuff. Green crack, auto ult, dark devil, and some photo seeds too including the 27% thc claimed True OG.

Lots of exciting things happening here, all just from participating in :420: and doing what I enjoy. :) Blessed isn't the word.

Enough of my ramblings, what's happening in your world? Care to share?

That seed idea is awesome. It would be less costly but runs the risk that your package gets intercepted in the mail. That would suck! I'm going to talk to OG as well. I didn't know that he was an electrician and my landlord sent in some bum construction workers who wired all the sockets linked to the nearest socket. I hope I can still run my 400w HPS during flower and be able to veg on the opposite side with about 275w worth of cfls.

I love your writing man, I can just imagine in my head what your seeing and the feeling of utter peace you must share with everything on your farm. It s a nice change from the bombardment of crap they try and push on tv these days, tying to get people to work more, rely on a bloated market of false hopes and dreams. My dream is to get some land, 20 or 30 acres and become self sufficient while sustaining an echo system that reflects my ambitions. You have a slice of heaven there my friend!
Today I am having an old timer come over to my wood working shop to build "ash boxes" as he would say, or erns, hahaha. He wants one for himself and now the rest of his family wants him to build them each one too! I just love being around old dudes and the stories they tell, it's a dying trait these days. I just think about kids these days when they get to be that old and the stories they are going to have......"So I sat in the house and played video games until I found out about sex, then got a girlfriend that I could have sex with then play video games after." Lifes too short these days, even though we're living longer. Farm life and getting back to what's important is what it s all about for me these days and that s why I envy what you have so much! Keepn it real man, love it!:thumb::circle-of-love:

Do you mean like ashes from being cremated? Somehow I get the feeling yours is gonna be for a big ole STash box :-)

The scary part about liking to be around old dudes and soaking up all of that knowledge is one day you look around and say...Wait a minute, now I'm the oldest guy around.

So true. Even when your around people your own age you feel that they lack in the mindset somehow.

Thanks BB. I just sit here by myself most of the time, get my attitude right, and look around at what speaks to me. Mostly it's just the animals. Hold on to that dream, one day it might come true. I was working 60 plus hours a week and hated everything in life. Then one day I happened to be at the courthouse and they were doing tax auctions on the steps. It was like a bomb went off in my brain. As i looked over the survey map I realized that I'd likely never get an opportunity like this again. House, barn, ponds, and year round running water in the form of a large creek. SOLD !!! It took another three years before I had taken care of enough loose ends, obligations, and needed repairs before I could jump out of the work force. I've never been happier. :yahoo: It's a lot of work, but I wasn't raised to sit around with my thumb up my a**, and I have a good woman that indulges my whims with her own strong work ethic. TBH the longer I am out of the work force and the more experience I get in running this place smoothly, the more I realize that *enough* is all we need. I get more joy from shoveling pig shit and walking a half mile to the country market for a cold pop in Summer, than I ever did working for a check and wishing for a new F250. I was never happier than as a kid running around a farm watching the adults work like mules....until now.

Keep dreaming, make preparations, and seize the opportunity. (Damn now I'm sounding like Dad. Lol)

My goal, to be the oldest of my peers. I'm thinking 115, maybe 120 is achievable if I give up all commercially produced consumables. :)

So true. Even when your around people your own age you feel that they lack in the mindset somehow.

Not always a bad thing, it just means you've risen to a higher level.

POTM! Congratulations, Rifleman! It took me a while, but finally I caught up and read just about every damn word that's been posted during this grow. Let me just say two things. Your grow is everything if not the most gorgeous grow, well maintained and the attention to detail is superior. Also, I'm still really sorry about Q2. It's a bummer, but who knows how many clumsy gardeners out there you've saved because of your own mistake. Thanks a lot for the inspiration!

Semper Fi!:goodjob:

Too much water outside, not enough inside. Five quarts apiece in 36 hrs. I was about to close up shop and leave my girls to their nude sunbathing when our lil friend Exp caught my eye. Remember it? The original "I'm going to trust AN and not check ph" plant. I don't know why but as I looked down on it and saw that a sixth node was about to emerge I suddenly felt Growchick's angst channeling through me. With ill intentions I took a pair of nail clippers to that tender new growth and attempted a bathroom surgery FIM. It's an experiment after all and four is better than two. :) If I plan to grow a sativa large inside I'm going to have a lot of topping to do, might as well try and learn to time it perfect. Photos of my felonious assault below.

Damn Hogs. Remind them they're nothing but bacon on the hoof.
"Git from here you pigs!"

I had a friend growing up that used an old VW bug with the back seats removed to move hogs on occasion. He had the backend SO jacked up that when there was no hog in the back, the rear wheels were at about 30 degrees off center. The wheels came right back into line with a hog in the back. We used to drive it around all the time... like driving on ice at all times because only a small portion of the tire was in contact with the road/dirt/gravel/grass/whatever. As a bonus, it was a completely trashed bug and we rolled it all the time. Pulled it out of SO many ditches.... it was really hard to keep on the road.

Ahhh memories... only the fun ones survive... we hope.
