Yes, we are in the home stretch. A week or so and we're gonna tip them then a few weeks for fattening up and chop. Looks like we are within our mark to chop the first of December.

Got an odor control question cause now she's stinking real good...which means real bad for me...LOL. I was standing outside the room where the cabinet is in and can smell her through the door. Not good....

I'm changing out the filter in the exhaust this weekend and bought a small light weight ion filter for the room. I'm hoping that will keep the smells at bay.

Anyone have any home remedies or something they purchased from "Homies"???
 
I have used Glade scented candles as scent control when I have harvested. Glade scented candles are have a strong pleasant odor and burn for a long time. People also use Ona gell as scent control.

Thanks King...I will try the Glade candles.

I've heard bad things about Ona gel. Taste in the buds and all....gonna stay away from that one.
 
Renegade, I'm hunting down some info from the LED guys.
I also have a Spider. I need another light though now (I was teased, Lol).
I'm looking to get a 4' x 4' tent outfitted with all LED. I can put my Spider in there, but what else do you think? I'm looking at maybe a Mars II 400w, the one w/ the 5w's or a Mars reflector, same 400w.

Thoughts, cheers, jeers?

Oh, I'm on here by phone. So I'm going to copy/paste this to a few others I trust w/ enough grow knowledge to accompany their LED know how.

What's up Cajun...

IMHO, I wouldn't mix my lights. But that's me. It would be hard to blame one or the other if something fails. With all those choices you have I would pick my best and double it.

3X3 is as small as I would ever go any more. A 4X4 is perfect I think. Even though I purchased a new 3X3 it's for 1 light at a time. If I ever want to go with 2 lights I will get a 4X4 and if I go that route it will be of the same brand and model.

That is just my opinion. PM sent.

Evening at lights on....
Air=72...up to 82 within an hour.
RH=42
PH=5.7
PPM=
Res Temp=

The electrostatic air purifier (Oion) arrived. It is an ozone producing air purifier that is suppose to eliminate odors.

First the smell of the plant was noticeable even from well outside of the room. When you enter the room the smell..still nice at the moment hit me in the face. Being in an apartment, I cannot have this.

The Oion was immediately plugged it in and set it to high. Within an hour the smell of the plant was diminished and the smell of the EAP was noticeable. Very noticeable.

Turned down the setting to low and waited to test in the morning.

Morning came and as expected the smell of...for the lack of better words...ozone??...lol....could be smelled. More importantly the smell of the plant was almost not noticeable at all.

So let's for a moment talk about the pros and cons of using an "Ozone" generator type device to help control the smells that a good plant is sure to produce.

First the device is still set to low and the unwanted (at the moment) smells are gone altogether.

What remains is the smell of the Oion.

Being environmentally conscience I am concerned about the effect this device actually has on our....yep you guessed it....environment?

The cons of the alternative like candles or other burning devices are that they will produce remnants in the air that will attach themselves to the plant and rendering it almost useable.

I would be interested to know if anyone else has used an ozone device and what the results were.
 
With that said....the plant is doing great so my next question or issue is to tip (back budding) her or not. Taking input on whether or not to do it this weekend or next.

My one experience with tipping (bud back building) was that the buds looked bigger.
On my four plants, I don't know that it added any weight.
On the plants where I tipped some, I couldn't tell which ones.
The plant where I tipped all the buds was a bit off schedule for other reasons.
By the looks I was predicting 3oz but it was only 2oz when dried.

- The buds definitely looked better, so they might sell better.
I will only be tipping again, when I want to grow a fancy looking nug.
 
It's FRIIIIDDDDAAAAYYYYYYYYYY......lol.

Looking to be about 4 weeks out. Still considering back budding this weekend instead of the next. Either way she's coming along just fine.

Since opening up the middle the Spider has been able to reach down to the lower parts of the branches and it shows. The lower sites are filling up and into the sites above and the colas continue to fatten up.

The Spider has proven itself in the veg stage and still has some way to go to be proven a good bloom stage LED.

If I were to order another unit I would custom one with more white lights. That should help in deeper penetration.

When comparing this LED to all others cost is the biggest factor. And as I've always said ALL LED's produce. To what level one is best over the other....IMO...still remains to be seen and can only be proven with a true side by side and with multipule grows using the same light...."Stay tuned for News"....

See what I did there....only you old salts know what I mean...LOL.

I will use the Spider again in the near future....wink, wink...

And oh by the way....Obtw....

No smoke value in the fans when defoling right???

I say wrong. And I had to wait till this weekends defol to prove it. So last week when I defol I kept the fans that had trichomes buildup on them. Quick dried and tested it. Yep, got a slow short lived buzz from it. Wasn't really sure since I also was sipping some C&C (Captain not Crown...LOL).

Will do the same thing this weekend and see if I get the same result. More trichomes buildup then last weekend and a little longer buzz is what I'm hoping for.

Now remember I haven't smoked since the AG stock ran out so my tolerance is not up there like most but a buzz is a buzz and it got me high.

I'll do the same thing this weekend (or next) when I tip her. Keeping those trichomes laden tops for testing. Yes, which means I'll take just a tiny bit more of the tips then usual but it won't hurt her one bit.
