Renaissance Man's First Official Grow: Blueberry OG, Gorilla Zkittles & Cream Caramel In Soil

You can use the same tool mate but also double check it with your strips.. You mix an equal part soil to an equal part distilled water and make a little slurry..
the thing is, my soil was reading 7 at the top, then i pulled the plant out of the pot and tested the soil in the bottom and that's when i realised my soil was a toxic 10. This was due to me altering my PH with baking soda, it accumulated in the bottom half of the pot and it was slowly increasing the alkalinity over time..

Sorry, I missed your last question.. in ideal situations, yes. But it never happens, I've read on here that the soil ph can be between 5 and 8 and still be perfectly fine for your plant. I will see if I can find the article, I forgot to bookmark it.

Here is a thread about PH issues.Ph issues You will have to pick the bones out of it, but it does describe a lot in detail. I have never used "Tega Brop" before, so I would follow Tralas recommendations; Her plant are always healthy..

Just caught up on your journey, you're certainly in good hands with the expertise of the growers here. I'm not much help as I'm still learning, but what I will say is pH is important. A pH pen is very helpful. Mine does pH, EC, ppm, temp, the lot. As soon as my pH was outside the range I had issues. I also found calmag helpful during veg but I'm using coco perlite. I'm sure your plants will come right. I'll tag along to see how it goes if you don't mind. :thumb:

Thanks for joining! At this stage, I'm a sponge for information. I look at it all.

Well I got the pH pen and tested my tap water. It measures at 7.6. I suppose I need to go get some pH down today.
Howdy do. Mix up some nutrients and see what it reads then.. my water is 7.4 and after mixing the nutrients, it's a 4; So I need to ph up..ask @Trala what happens to her mix.

I always add a drop of concentrated Citric to tap water, it's not too strong and helps bind Chlorides (I've read)
If you are going to use Phosphoric, pre-dilute it because it is so potent in small amounts
I use distilled water ph'd down to 2.0 rather than neat

I don’t pH.

I find it waaaaaaay too pHucking boringgggggg.

Day 39 of growth
Water/Feed day

Good morning @Krissi1982! No, I did not test the soil yet. I really am trying to avoid the whole pH balancing thing.

What I tested this morning was my water after adding calmag and nutes and it only dropped to 7.1

I fed all the girls with about 1.5L each and 1.8g of Tega Brop per 1.5L per their feeding calculator in Extended Veg. The deficiency in the lower leaves is still concerning but I'm going to see what happens after this water/feed.

I topped all three today. I wasn't planning on it, but I stayed up late watching videos and.. you know.. the internet and all.

All the new growth looks good and they are all topped above the 5th node. I was starting to get concerned with potential height. Anyways, here they are:

OK. Well, positive? Your new growth is healthy. All that old stuff at the bottom isn't gonna fix itself at the point they're at...
I am unfamiliar with those nutrients so I don't want to give incorrect information on dosaging. A I know is that too high of PH means whatever you are giving them to help them-they ain't gonna get cause you will lock yourself out and it can't absorb the nutrients with a PH usually over 6.8. But I don't think this is just a PH thing...they need time to recover and I think you are approaching it in the right way. Just be patient and see how they continue to grow but obviously, be aware of anything new that you see going on....which you already know to look for

I agree, the old stuff is what it is (I hate that phrase). I know imbalance of pH will destroy my plants, but I'm going to watch it closely. I'll just need help if and when a problem is arising. I have been keeping a pretty good journal in the last couple of weeks (thanks to you guys) and will continue to post, especially since I can go back and see the process for my next grow

You're doing great and using all your resources and taking advice whenever you can! Can't ask for better than that! Happy to see you active in your journals, others and in conversations all around the forums

Oh sweet baby Jesus get out now!

So here is my guide and a couple of tips that you never asked for.

With your Tega Brop *taps nose* if you haven’t done so already, tip some into a small jar, and get a anti moisture sachet thingy. They come in handbags and makeup bags and stuff when you buy them. It’s stops moisture getting in your TB.

Measure it to the mg. I prepare it to stop rush disasters. I have like a feeding station with my TB, teaspoon and scales.

Because I struggle to follow the most basic direction my poster is a bit confusing. Just let me know if you need my afterthought arrows explained.

I am a little confused with your chart and how it compares with the feeding calculator on their site. It appears that your chart is slightly less concentrated per 2L than the calculator advises. Can you clarify?

Good morning :)

These are the numbers I was given here in the forum by quality Tega Brop *taps nose* nute using growers. There is a poster here called Mr Sauga and he is like a Tega Brop *taps nose* grow god.

Using this method I have never needed to add Magnesium or calcium. My grows are 100% TB fed. So far anyway. Not to say that will work for you, but for me this ratio is bang on.

Hope this helps man of the renaissance :)

Good stuff! Thanks. Now I just have to convert your calculations to grams per 1.5L... ugh.

That’s just what works for me.

I have never had to add more for yellowing or less for too green, yet anyway.

I grow differently to you guys in many aspects. For example I deliberately left my plants outside in the pouring rain all day yesterday, coz I believe rain is good for plants in veg. Not flower OMG I learned that the hard way loll. I think it cleans their leaves which in my mind helps wash away mites. I also water nearly every day. And I don’t do the wet dry cycle. I just go by feel. And when I say water I don’t mean this gentle start from the outside of the pot and gently have the plant sip. I basically put my foot on their necks and waterboard them lolllllll

Interesting! I suppose there are more ways to water than one.

My goal is to get through this grow with only the Tega Brop and the diy calmag and hope that can do it. My next question is when to flip to flower?

What are thoughts behind this? Size? Time frame? Strain?
