Relaxed's Winter Experiment

Wow, just signing onto my thread this morning to see all the kind words and well wishes was a great gift. The warmth, love, and comfort that surrounds the community here is really something special. I want to thank everyone as a whole for being not only subscribed to my journal, but for being wonderful human beings, and members of 420 Magazine. I wish everyone a wonderful X-mas day, and as we approach the New Year of 2014 I hope that everyone can enjoy themselves. I am puffing one up right now for you all!
Merry X-mas!!:party::thankyou::circle-of-love::thanks::clown::kiss::woohoo::xmas::partyboy::peace:

Good morning weed Lester and Merry Christmas. Nice write up about sexing. Your babies are looking really good sunning themselves in your beautiful weather. It's 32 degrees here and it's only light 8.5 hours. It's at least climbing in time again. Happy Thurweedday my friend

Hello beemerbill! Long time no see ;) Merry X-mas and Happy New Year to you too! Thanks for the kind words about my little babies, today we have 80 degree clear, hot, and sunny temperatures. So it should be another walk in the park type day for them. They only actually get about 2 hours of actual sun per day, because of situation they are in. But it is strong Sun, and warm temperatures. OK Enough bragging, I know everyone in the cold temperatures hates me.

Thanks, and now happy FriedDay to ya! Hope your Hawaiian day is as dank as our Californian day :)

PS to All subscribers I will have an update on the KC-45 progress sometime today, I have been out of town so I have not actually seen what they look like in 5 days, I have had a great friend take care of them for me, as they always take care of my garden while I am away, even in the regular season.

Over and Out!

Will do! I would like to post the pictures at the top of the next page.

OK here we are guys and gals, I am very happy to see them grow, it overjoys me. Yesterday they were watered with about 1/2 cup of the 10-3-1 Dr. Earth premium bat guano (with probiotic infused) diluted into 1/2 gallon of water -- split between the 5 ways. They now have a nice "barn-yard" smell to them, I think they're enjoying it. Although there maybe a little bit too much Nitrogen, I think they'll be justt fine :Namaste:

Dag Lest, If just for once could something I grow just go as smoothly as yours do. But if that was the case you guys wouldn't need to help me as much which means I wouldn't have learned so much so quickly. Hectic grows make great students.

Here is an extended nightly update, the boys and girls are under the sheltered night-light awaiting release into the wilderness!

Why 18/6 instead of 24 hours for vegging?

Lester, I want your opinion on this please, I copied this from a post shared with OZ & his gang.

"I have never tried vegging with 18/6 because I have had great results vegging with no dark period. I have recently read that 18/6 benefits could possibly, outweigh the benefits of 24 hours of light when vegging.

I would love to get some feedback from you & the :circle-of-love: thoughts??"

:thanks:

I read a thread on lighting schedule versus root length and plants grown under 16/8 16 hours of light and 8 hours of darkness grew the longest roots, 18/6 was not tested. I was made aware of a study of lighting schedule versus growth and plants given at least 5.5 hours of darkness grew the most.

GLR is another interesting light schedule that is kinda like a flowering schedule as it's based off 12/12, except the 2nd 12 hour period is divided 3 ways.

Lights on 12:00 AM
Lights off 12:00 PM
Lights on 5:30 PM
Lights off 6:30 PM ........ this is one day. Honestly, donpaul.p does quite a bit of experimenting with light schedules and he also has shared some good detail about that Gas Lantern Routine (GLR) in his journal. I wanna try that GLR someday. I guess that 1 hour of light smack in the middle of the 12 hour dark period fool the plant into sticking to it's vegetative growth schedule, but I think get's some of the stretchability of flower, but during veg.
