Relaxed's Winter Experiment

Hello all and Good Day to you! I know a lot of you are enduring rain and snow, so I can see why viewing my journal may make you angry  Spring is on the rise though, we will all be in natural bliss soon enough! Or atleast my cat has beat me to it. You know the weather is right for planting when Methuselah comes out of hibernation. Hell, I might as well had been growing these KC-45s for Fang, she really loves the sanctuary created by the plants, they make her feel protected and enjoys being in their presence as much as I do :Namaste:

And here is what I believe to be a very intelligent male that is saving his seed for that special female :circle-of-love::circle-of-love::circle-of-love:, I think he knows when to strike when the iron is hot, he hinted at me with a very tiny thing which looked to be a male pollen sack at a node low down, I culled it, but I am still seeing absolutely no signs of flowering in it, but the two females as pictured above are doing their thing.

And to conclude this small update with a naturally lit shot of some locally grown Greenhouse Kush. Those orange things on the rocks are algae! We need to use a high pressure washer to wash them off the rocks. :Namaste:

Also if anybody is interested in the regular garden thread the Romanaesco Heirloom Brocolli is into hard bloom and the flowers are quite ecstatic, I will be documenting my garden adventures in the off-topic area of the forum to coincide with new cannabis related journal which is soon to come :peace: Relaxed Lester's Garden Photos

How can you have sun with this storm, I have 18-20" of snow on the ground LOL

Just another day in paradise brother :) It is good margarita weather :laughtwo:

It's 5:00 somewhere... :thumb:

EDIT: Just got back from the Big O, caught 3 specks (crappie).

I loved the reminiscing Photo Shoot Lester. I'm sure it took you back as it took me forward to what type of flavored strains I might want to grow in the future. Hope to see your face in the place tomorrow.

Aww man I love catching crappies out on the lake down here a little to chilly to be out on the lake at the moment but boy the first chance I get I will be out there casting and relaxing

And lester man you lucky dog even in the volunteer state it is snowing so no sunshine for me just frigid cold weather lol but atleast your girls are doing good as are mine so far no problems out of the KC45 strain on my end what about you?

Yea envy from here my friend. Hey you got the weather flaunt it. I seen someone talk specks. I love to fish for crappie. Get me a john boat, a paddle, a cane pole and acouple dozen shinners and I'll find ya some 'slabs'. Well was a time and place and Oregon isn't the place for shell crackers. Big crappie back in Arkansas. Nothing more fun than hooking a 20 lb+ catfish while using a cane pole for crappie. Just you and the fish make for a great fight. Lester I think you will fair nice with that auto. That is if you can get in in without a mishap. Just about every auto I've grown out let alot to be desired as far as yield, but that one seems to be doing pretty good for ya. KC is one of the oldest breeders out there. And for real,,, they have some great strain for "LARGE" plants. Great plants if you have to worry about the numbers game. Brrrrr we got frozen rain tonight. Going to be interesting. Hopefully I don't lose power. That wood kill me all my girls flip hermie because of a outtage.
Well GL and I'll be looking in Keepem Green

Thank you BAR! Yes it did indeed take me back. I am still in love with the strains I once had, the memory of their beautiful existence... it haunts me to think they are not with me. Ahh...But I would like to grow these new strains out, the "Blackberry", "Swiss Cheese, and "Maui Waui" all from Sativa Seedbank (apparently aka Nirvana)...super excited about them, for me, I may not harvest or grow as nice of plants as some of you indoors growers may, but I like to enjoy the variation of types of plants within the garden, wander from plant to plant and stumble upon an ancient beauty! Nothing like it. I'll try and stop by the Reps show if possible brother! :cheertwo:

No problems at all :) Other than it took far longer to for them to reach sexual maturity than I had planned, if I would have known that I would have planted them earlier or not planted them at all. I mean I might as well have begun planting my regular seeds, the mystery sativa variety pack or hong kong og as well as the new strains. Now I am impacted by these slow flowering plants that are not determined to finish via photoperiod, but whenever they "feel like it", it takes a toll on my limit and how many plants I can have at one time and certainly wish I would have known. I am under the impression having them under CFL's and moving them to adapt outside has stunted the flowering hormones, with this new batch I will put them out much sooner and younger and so they have more time to adapt, hopefully this will improve some of the inconsistencies I've been experiencing. Some plants are just ment to be grown outside complete from start to finish, kinda seems that's how it should be over here..

LOL Wow, buddy thanks for cruisin' through during the Snowstorm, guess those sun pictures might warm ya up a bit ;) 20 Lb. cats, I can tell ya about those :thumb: Those darn catfish tend to get pretty damn big though, too big. Well Capt. Wood I appreciate you clearing the air and lightening the vibe for me, you know I've been concerned about these autos not performing for me, we'll see if it was all worth it in the end I guess, the last of those KC45 seeds are bound to break ground soon, I figured To Hell with Them! Capt. Wood, if you are still reading this do you have any feedback on these certain strains by Sativa seedbank or "Nirvana seeds", we got Blackberry which is supposed to be "Black domino x Rasberry cough" apparently people say it doesn't turn purple or it isn't potent, or the whole cross is bogus, etc. The real blackberry is supposed to have blueberry grandmother... I'm not really sure. The Maui Waui supposed to need to fine tending to as its an 11 week strain and basically heirloom at this point. And then the "Swiss Cheese", I guess just the Skunk #1 crossed with what was originally called "Swiss Miss", they said something about genetics from Nepal, and has anti-mold resistances, supposed to finish in ~8 weeks or fewer. Going to be interesting like you said, especially for these damn "autoflowers"...

don't you catch catchfish with your hands?
Happy Skunday Relaxed :thumb:

You know, how ironic that it is Skunkday??

Last night I was chasing a skunk out of the backyard with a flashlight.... except it ran straight for the tortoise hole and dove right in. I shit you not I saw a skunk run into the tortoise hole and I didn't see it come out. The tortoise came out this morning giving me the stink eye.

So Happy Skunkday to you too brother! :thumb:

Ok just some news for today: The remaining 5 KC-45 seeds have sprouted up with 80% (so far 1 has not come up) germination success, I will keep them for about a week under the CFL and then let them go outside. In other news, I am confident that the "intelligent male" has shown enough pollen sack formation for me to throw him away, so I may do another thorough inspection and get it done. Will probably post a couple of pics later.

Happy Munchday to all! :cheertwo:

Here's a small pic update, I found a bunch more pollen sack formations on the "intelligent male", he was tucking them in so they were harder to see but definitely coming in all over the place; So into the trash he went. Had a nice rootball though, should be indicative of what the other root balls look like in the 2 established females. :peace:

Spain Study Confirms Hemp Oil Cures Cancer

Here is a bit of news that may help after hacking one of your kids. The " he was tucking it in part....weird "Silence of the Lamb" just popped into my head!! I must be stoned!!! Anywho...... more news and research like this is a big plus. If anyone has the time what the Israeli's have been doing for the last 10++ years on just MMJ research is outstanding. I love pot, NOT JUST GETTING HIGH. And my love is an addiction like my religion, it is in and from my heart. It does not dwell in the passages of my mind. It is reaching the level to where countries are saying, for a lack of better words: stop blowing smoke up our ass`s!!! Cant wait till it is LEGAL and FREE. But it will be whored out by governments and money grubbing entrepreneurs first!! To have them growing in the front yard next to some azaleas and rose bushes will be really cool!! Happy growing and ...PEACE.....

Picked up some new organic soil as a starting substrate for my new plants, I am very excited to use it. Some current thoughts came into my mind seeing that rootball from the male and getting this new soil. I think I am going to re-pot these 2 female autoflowers that are about to hit hard flower, I'll put them into a much larger pot so hopefully I can maximize my yield for all the time they have taken up. Along side them I'll have these 4 new seedlings which have been growing like a superior weed. Soon I will plant some non-"autoflower" seeds, and have them up for a round of force flowering in which I expect to harvest something by June, probably am going to plant the "Swiss Cheese" as it is a fast-finisher and go with the complete Dogget Simpson Growology regiment. But for the KC's I'll stick to my normal Dr.Earth and Earth Juice bat guano routines. Around June I will plan to plant a full crop of various strains of my choice, planting around June instead of March/April for cannabis can be very beneficial in that they won't have a chance to go into a re vegetative state, which can sometimes impact yields and over all final quality. For plants sexually mature by March, we see April flowering and finishing by the June solstice, or if they are not far enough into flowering (where there is no going back), then they will re-vegetate until it's time to flower and be done by September/October...Last time I had a few plants that tried to flower hard and I knew they wouldn't finish by June or I feared they'd re-veg, so I started to do the light deprivation technique AKA force flowering, such a great idea. The rest of them didn't really flower, but I think they had a little stretch. The buds were hard and dense, typically real hard-core re-vegged buds come in fluffy, airy, and lighter where if they came out like that then they probably had secreted flowering hormones for quite some time, and the flip to secreting vegetative hormones is what would have messed them up. We want steady and natural secretion that is consistent. I got lucky (with the naturally flowering plants planted in March) that I didn't end up with light, airy, or fluffy bud as a result of re-vegetation because they did not get far enough into flower for the "revegetation factor" to play a super large role -- meaning it did not impact the final end result.

OK That's all for now, I'll be doing some more writing later. :peace:
