Relaxed's Winter Experiment

Congrats on your win Lester.
Great history facts Goofy...
Thank you kindly!

Lester, is your goal on the strain choice to pick stuff to minimize bud rot/moths? Hence the mostly Sativa stuff.
Not sure that strain choice would minimize any moths. I personally prefer a nice sativa, and I know they grow well in my oceanic locale; But I do also need one that finishes quick in ~8 weeks flower so the Swiss Cheese being indica dominant was appealing, some of the landrace genetics might help with my mold issues as well as I've always enjoyed a nice Cheese strain. But I am very excited over all to grow this Blackberry, I've always had a passion for blackberry and purple buds so I'm very excited. I also chose the Maui Waui because of its old school genetics and because I know it will fit in nicely here. Always wanted to grow Blackberry and Maui Waui, the Swiss Cheese I kind of was looking for something not too expensive so I could get the free 5 Kerala X Skunk and free fem. seeds thrown in there. Supposed to be pretty exotic stuff though so I'm stoked :surf:

Just driving thru my friend. I myself think there is a great use for auto flowering plants. And from what it looks like, you got acouple monsters going. Now in my eyes, that wood be a great plant to get some seed stock from. As long as the herbs are good. Auto's have come along ways as far as 'kick' but most of them bugger stay alittle short on the yields. Be nice to be able to finish your flower in the high sun or July or so. I always liked they way that one sounded. They even mention it in a Book of Buds. I'll be around GL and Keepem Green

Howdy, I feel ya, I want to try those flowers first and see how I like 'em before I dedicate to pollination but I agree having some extra autoflowers seeds layin' around can never be a bad thing! :thumb: Yeah, I was hopin' they'd finish up much before July but your probably right in that it's gonna take a long while for them to chug along. I am hoping to harvest some things by the Summer solstice in June before things revert back to veg, I'm hoping to get almost a full crop in by June and then plant another full round. Things is I been reading about these new strains, the Blackberry from Nirvana -- lots of mixed reviews, people saying it won't turn purple and it is not very potent and whatnot. But I'll give it a go and see what I can make of it. Heard the "Swiss Cheese" should be pretty easy to grow as well as quick finisher, but that Maui Waui is going to need some special tending to as it will probably take forever to finish. Just hoping the seeds from Sativa seed bank are stable :Namaste: Thanks for cruisin' through once again :ciao:

Freeweed!!!!
Happy Weednsday Relaxed :thumb:

I knew you'd get a kick out of that!

Much Mahalo, you too! :thumb:

How often are you having to water these bad boys with the cold conditions?

Not very often, every 1-2 weeks in this weather, we've had showers today with sunshine, but the dark clouds came now. They loved today's mid-day shower in the Sun, they were also foliar fed with a dilute solution of SNS-604A for vegetative growth this morning, the remaining 5 KC-45 seeds have popped open and have been planted into a sphagnum peat moss mixture with Step 1 of Dogget Simpson nutrient regiment.

Nice, I am planning for my summer grow with HSO Lemon Thai Kush and SH Flowerbomb Kush. Wish I could grow Sativa out door here, but they would start flowering way to late and never finish in time. unless crazy long time before first freeze.

Sounds like fun ;) I assume you'll be doing your greenhouse thing like last time, always fun to pop through all the different outdoor journals going on at the same time :Namaste: You could always make a little Force Flower chamber kind of like Bozzo has, you could easily force flower a sativa and have it be done months and months earlier than our naturally flowering ladies. I just put mine in the garage out of ease and it has turned out to work great for me as you saw last year. Just a thought :)

Yes Will be using greenhouse. Good idea on dark zone, seems like such a pain in the but, and i would miss a night or two. Maybe if i get enough motivation to make an automated one. Like a big trashcan on a tray that moved in and out of a little hut on timer.

I may try autoflowers this year though...Maybe plant April 1st. Harvest in July?

You getting the rain, now just think how much snow we have up here considering it been in the teens all day it sure is pretty though, probably about 5-8 inches already and i think 2-4 more at least tonight.

Crawdad isn't that like 4 months>? kinda long for autos
Happy Thurweed day Relaxed Hope the Plants are ok as tomorrow is FreeWeed day!!!! :thumb:

I drank this tonight it was pretty amazing, with a picture of flying pigs on it, reminded me of you :high-five: Cheers! :cheertwo:

Was looking through some old pictures, and I am realizing how amazing my mystery sativa seeds are and how lucky I got last year with them. I popped 12 of those beans last year and ended up with 5 different strains all amazingly fruity and dank, one of those being the contest winning Purple Haze. I'm starting to think now, even though I will have Blackberry, Swiss Cheese, and Maui Waui seeds, I don't need to plant them all. I'm starting to think having these KC-45's growing is not such a good thing, I can't imagine it being super super dank, it seems as if I could have just force flowered one of my regular seeds and have gotten the same results (if not flowered quicker!). I am longing to see the strains I once saw... I have no way to explain them other than through pictures and characteristics. Makes me want to grow more mystery sativa seeds right away. Let me see if I can compile a pictorial of them.

Mystery Sativa#1 - Unknown Tropical Dankness, Tasted/Smelled like Pineapple

Mystery Sativa#2 - Unknown Sativa Purple strain which I had to slap the name Purple Haze on, I mean come on... -- Nug of the Year 2013

Mystery Sativa #3 - Unknown Sativa which had magnificent colors (Force Flowers #3), since MS#1,2 were also force flowered together. This strain had a very pungent winterfresh and and minty flavor, was powerful and very unique, it also got pretty purple too!

Mystery Sativa #4 - Unknown Sweet smelling flowers, like sugary cotton candy, smelled very sativa like and upbeat, tasted fabulously sweet in the vaporizer, these last two were not quite as photogenic but their unique flavors made up for it!

Mystery Sativa #5 - This strain smelled literally and exactly like sour candy apple with an overtone of skunk. Very boggling, and was a diamond in the rough, absolutely amazingly fruity, did I mentioned it smelled like candy?
