I know this is all off topic relative to the actual journal at hand, but just consider it "side-candy"...

Lester, looking good my friend. :high-five:
Thanks brother! Hope all is well in your world. Nice to have you here in the winter grow, hope to rock another outdoor journal alongside you this year, with all the outdoor journals we had last year it was really amazing to see them all bloom. I'm getting excited. :cheertwo:

And onto a fresh update. Here we are on what appears to be day 49 since the seeds broke the soil. We have current coastal weather with low visibility, dense fog, complete cloud cover with a high in the low 70s, and a low in the low 50s. In other news, I have determined that one plant is a female, the one on the front left in the group shot, however I cannot tell with any of the other ones, athough I am seeing a lot of "singular" calyx type formations at the internode points.

There are a couple things to mention here, they could either be regular female calyxes, or singular pollen sacks, hard to tell at this point, but typically I've seen the pollen sacks grow in trios, but it is reasonable to see a singular pollen sack at a lower internode point where there isn't a ton of flowering hormones compared to the apical tip of a non-topped plant. Another thing is that, typically (based off sexual maturation rates) the males will show sex and mature much quicker than the females, so based on that observation, having seen a female and not seen any males among the group yet, it leads me to believe that I have 5/5 females out of a bag of 10 regular seeds, which is unheard of, and unlikely, but probable. They're definitely in the process of pre-flowering now... I'll have to say, I'm definitely not sold on "autoflowers" with these KC-45's, it's almost as if I could have just planted some of my other mystery sativas or OG's and they would have grown quite similarly, although I do see a degree of hardyness in these KC-45's, they survive really well in low-light, cloudy conditions as stated before, and these plants don't get their first direct ray of sunshine until mid-afternoon.

Here are the pics..all natural lighting coming through the clouds @ 59° F

Extended general documentation, I had to tie them down, but it's nice to see they actually do grow very tall as claimed as well. Update on the females, I believe I have confirmed definitely 3/5 are female, and the other 2 are looking promising, I can't really see how they would be males at this point, if that is the case we'll have having a

Even with cloudy days you can't flux with mother nature as opposed to artificial lighting. Sending female vibes to those last two Lester.

Wow, those are looking great, Lester! I can only hope mine will look as good as your gals do now

Dam Lester your girls are looking really healthy. Oh to see the sun and warm weather. Raining right now like a a cow on a flat rock. Walked out to the greenhouse and there was a lake I had to ford across. :cheesygrinsmiley: Happy Weedsday

Howdy Brother Bee, glad I could give you a glimpse of life on the other side of the fence :rasta: Happy Thurweed day :cheertwo:

5:46 PM just saw the giant Hawk Moth, right on que, I can literally hear his wings when he buzzes by my face,

Fastest moth on the planet.
Ugh, moths get on my nerves. I have seen a few out lately, even killed one that looked like a male corn borer inside the house, again, I looked him in the eyes before squashing him in a paper towel; that bastard...

lol mothra

Yup...that's pretty cool.

Seriously, when your Budder machine arrives I'm expecting, at least in your journal, a product review.

I haven't checked the latest stats, just not my thing. BUT, last time I looked it was your Purple Haze on the win for two different categories.

You really deserve all the accolades. Even though our personal styles of growing are almost polar opposite, you've helped me out more than anyone else. I just want you to know that the support you offered to me was not taken in vain.

I want to say "thank you".

I always love watching pot (and other plants) bounce back/turn away from gravity, after bending them. It's alive!--type of enthusiasm. :) :thumb:

Thank you very much Josh, you are very welcome! It is so nice to have you aboard all my grows and journals, you have been there since the very beginning when I first signed up on this website! :Namaste: Also, yeah, I will have to get some stuff to make the butter, but when I do it should be straightforward and I'll post a product review for sure. It is quite a feat to have my outdoor bud that I've been tending to stand toe to toe with some of the best indoor grown buds around, it definitely makes me feel like all my work has paid off, all the tedious hours every single day bending over and closely examining all my buds with an ice-pick looking for mold spots or signs of worms, or moth eggs. I can't tell you how happy it makes me to be acknowledged like this. Thanks again! :thanks:

It certaintly is alive, it is very fascinating to really see the "moods" of the plants. They have many different tell-tale signs that they're in a mood. For instance, during the night, all the leaves tend to "droop/rest downard a bit" which is their normal sleep mood....but when they're insanely hungry and thirsty, they put out a different type of "droop" which is their different mood. And also, when I water with cold water from the hose, sometimes it makes them droop for a 20-30 mins in response to the colder water, but they prop back up in no time once they "feel better"... so many different moods to look out for. They speak to me, especially the long term growing ones, you really get to know them very well, and the things they do at certain times...:Namaste:
