Relaxed's 2014 Outdoor Medical Grow

bit tired but ok not real bad its gonna be an easy week
next week when I go to the other jobsite its gonna hurt
Sounds good! Should have a relaxing weekend ahead of us then! :surf:

:bravo: Gotcha. Your description has almost sold me.

My HGK pheno has a strong limonene profile. I really like that taste.

I've just found, in my opinion, a dominant Indica mixed strain, using CHH's description, gets me where I need to be.

I've sampled a lot of strains. I medicate for pain relieve, not for creativity. Blue Dream, Cookies/Thin Mint/Animal, Platinum Kush, Banana Kush, Skywalker, anything with a Haze strain as the major linage contributor, just does not do it for me. I also know Sativas are more flavorful, as a round-about, generic summary.

The strongest strains, both THC, CBD, and CHD, currently available are more Sativa leaning hybrids. I'm not arguing that. Not at all. I guess, I'm looking for the "perfect balance". I know my HGK pheno supplies that. The Purple Kush and Blue Blood should also. I also really like the Delicious Seed's Northern Light Blue.

I would love to grow a Sativa dominant strain just to make sure I'm not missing something as a grower. Think I'm good, but Super Lemon Haze is on my wish list along with any Tangerine Dream pheno from DNA,/Reserva.

:peace:
Yeah I don't "medicate for creativity", it's just one little added bonus to the package of a great sativa high :ganjamon:
Glad you like what strains you got going, we clearly have our strain differences and whatnot. It's like that old saying goes, don't fix something that ain't broke! :)

You should definitely give it a try especially that you can find plenty hybrids with indica structure and short flowering time, but leaning on sativa high. What I like about inducas is they take my pain away, what I don't like is the short body stone and tolerance that gets built up very quickly. Also, if you're going out somewhere to enjoy your evening/night, indica is just wrong, and sativa is a real bliss :)
These modern day hybrids that are floating around are incredible though!:thumb:

Just a caution ... If you don't love sativas because of their paranoia, SLH is probably not the one you should try. It's especially disorienting. Tangerine Dream is iffy and unstable and often produces a disappointing harvest. From my experience, I'd recommend Panama for a smoker who prefers indicas. It's a dense high, with a warm effect like an indica but without the lethargy.

Jus' my two cents. :cheesygrinsmiley:
Good advice Graytail, good to have someone whose actually grown the strains to come in with their experiences. That's what this community is all about :circle-of-love:

I grew Tangerine Dream and I got very A5 Neville's Haze pheno, which was ok, but nothing special in terms of sativa high. It had a kind of sour/ammonia taste too, which wasn't much to my liking. SSH from what I read on another forum is from the same stock as Jack Herer, and it's been confirmed by Sam The Skunkman.

As far as good beans are concerned, Ace Seeds and Cannabiogen have the biggest range of landrace and pure sativas these days, including Panama, Colombian, Malawi Gold, and Bangi Haze (Bangi Congo x Lambsbread '86) which they say produces very nice uplifting, but still social high finishing in the middle October even with extreme humidity. My choice for next year as this season I'm busy with Malawi Gold, Hawaiian Skunk Haze, Trainwreck, Orient Express (Vietnam Black x China Yunnan) and some other stuff. Very soon I'm ordering Nepalese landrace sativas too :lot-o-toke:
Sounds like you have your hands on some fine genetics there my friend! :thumb:

Wassup Lester?

Am looking at Sativas now, some of them look pretty yummy, so I'll take a couple of days and figure out which one I want to do.

Harvested all of the AK48s today, only wanted to harvest one, but the other 2 were outside last night & we sort of had a torrential thunderstorm. I was considering building an ark to preserve at least a couple of cannabis strains. The 2 outside got so top heavy that they were leaning very, very badly this morning when I woke up. Well, I got the shearers out and dispatched them to meet their Maker.

400 wet on 3 midgets, so I'll guess I'll get 150 - 175 dry. Not too bad for a "Noob".

Have a Great Day my Friend!

:Namaste:
Shopping for a sativa is like shopping as a kid in a candy store. I really enjoyed growing my "mystery sativa seeds" last year, they were a mix of different stabilized strains, and I ended up with 4-5 different strains that I got to enjoy, some of these fruity characteristics that come along with a unique sativa are really interesting, KC definitely has that fruity-tooty feel. With all this talk of seeds, I need to take special care and get these new seeds going as soon as possible. :surf: Sounds like you did the right thing with that harvest, your flowers were pretty much far along enough I'd say! You had some very magazine worthy pictures in your thread. Great job again, unbelievable first grow I'd say. :goodjob:

Not :goof: bad for a "Noob".:goodjob: smart move ole festus :bravo:

Lester, I found a perfectly intact, headless moth on top of a moth net this morning. I'll post a pic in my yard and I 'll slap in the corn borer thread if you don't mind. Looks like the Sphinx/Hawk, was beheaded by the BAT!

Stay cool.
Yeah that's incredible. :lot-o-toke:

more great pheno strain shares Lester & the gang :goodjob:

(beheaded moth in Lesters Corn Borer link, nice close-ups, I'm sold on a bat kill.)

:thanks:

Hi Lester,

Great info here today as customary. Was just checking out the Panama & they appear something that might be very interesting for me to attempt. When 2 regarded members both mentioning Panama, "Ole Festus" goes a looking.

Can't name where I got this info from, but I was given a lil hint.

THE GENUINE PANAMA RED ADAPTED TO MODERN INDOOR GROWING AND MODERATE LATITUDES

Our Panama combines 3 excellent sativas from Panama. It is one of the most popular, powerful and high yielding sativa in our catalogue.

Very elaborated hybrid of great potency and vegetative vigor. It produces beautiful, large, dense flowers full of trichomes often showing reddish and pinkish shades when flowering. Its aroma and effect are reminiscent of the best red Colombian and Panamanian sativas from the 70’s.

Very powerful, dense, psychedelic and long lasting effect. One of our most powerful strains.

If this acts like an Indica like Graytail says, but in reality is a Sativa and has the traits that Conradino stated above, then this just might be the ticket I'm looking for.

Doesn't look all that hard to grow either. I just have to learn patience with it. :high-five:

:)

Here's my Ace Panama a week or two before harvest. I bought one fem seed and drew this purple pheno. Most will at least show pink pistils and many express reds and purples in the leaves. Mine has a piney cedar inhale and a smooth vanilla exhale.

Good stuff. :thumb:

... sorry about the hijack Lester ... :cheesygrinsmiley:

Good morning Lester,

Wake and Bake! :Hookah:

That is really nice pheno, GrayTail!
These red pistils are legendary among older heads who dubbed it Panama Red for the same reason. Will definitely give ot a try next season.

Hey RL, just getting rolling on this side of the day and seen on the news fire troubles over that way. They said San Diego county was the worst hit and the fire chief said it was the driest May he has seen in his 27 years there and the Santa Anna winds are crazy. Just hoping everyone there safe and staying green. We had a wet "dry" season here and are up almost 3 inches, compared to the normal 4 to 6 inch deficient. Our afternoon sea breeze thunderstorms are just starting and would offer a few of those but they would do more harm then good. The 10,000 lightning strike an hour and 2 to 4 inch per/hr. downpours would cause flash floods and mudslides plus start more fires then extinguish. If not effected by them cool but to those who may be......prayers for rain!! Stay green... stay cool!!
...Peace.....

Good morning RL!

Congrats on your Nomination for MOTM.

You got 2 votes from me, but I had to vote for myself on Plant of the Month, so I'd at least have one vote!

Great Job my friend!

:adore:

The indie`s are more popular I think for the time and height factor but I sure do love the old days of blowing a few bowls and actually casing a Frisbee for 2 hours. Then to smoke a bowl and try and figure out how to work the remote control... if I can even find it!!

Peace.....

Weekly Update - Photo Dump

Hey All, this page is gonna go by quick since we already half way through but here is our weekly Thursday update on the KC-45 autoflowers which are not even flowering "hard", and the force flowering Blackberries which are flowering very well. You can see that last weeks "Iron def." has gone away, and the chlorosis in the newest greenest leaves accompanying the forming sites has gone away. Today is an outstanding day for them, it's been a little hot for the KC-45s so we are seeing some more finicky growth in the largest specimen, however I'm convinced things will turn around eventually. She's a real stinker, much different flavors than I've experienced before with KC-45. All plants were watered and fed with multiple types of plant extracts and different strains of sea kelp (including SNS-604B). They loved it. Aside that 4 sprouts have popped up, two of which are Maui Waui and the other 2 are the Santa Maria x Blueberry. Still waiting for others to pop up. The weather has helped. Note that the seeds were started off outside in their natural home, so from day 1 they will have seen the Sun.

They all look very happy and I think they like to show off on Thursdays. Look at them "Praising the Sky", I love when the leaves point straight up.

Awesome.

Just to say Congrat`s and you got my vote and you do lead in the polls!! From reading through your posts for sometime now. The feeling I get is your modesty and humility will play it down but do realize I did read the guidelines for this one!! (Sorry admin`s ) I think I have more notifications of what not to do then likes(!!!) It comes from the members and your time and efforts are enjoyed and recognized and most of all, shows and promotes promise.

There is a noticeable difference in a lot of these forums and posts and do show the character and promotional motives of the person. If I may say, it is a pleasure to cast a vote and look forward to your words and efforts. Hell if anything it is a way for us to say thanks and it does mean more then you may think or take credit for!!

Enjoy and look forward to the future promise`s and keep it green!!!...Peace.....

That's horrible news about San Diego! :trance:
I will be sending wet karma their way. I lived there for 20 years! It's beautiful. That was the easiest place to have a year round outdoor garden. I had a 10x20 area where I grew fruits and vegetables. I would hate to see anything burn in SD! I used to teach at Cuyamaca College, Grossmont College, and San Diego City College. It's a very pretty place.

Prayers for rain San Diegans!

I agree with San Diego. My sister went to San Diego State and was on their crew team in the 80's. She is still there teaching school. She is a special ed specialist. I really enjoy to visit there.

Sorry to crash your party but I have a dilemma I am trying to get my hands around. It has to do with early flowering and how it plays out over time. So can a plant that was flowered in early March maintain a flowering mode all summer or will reveg set in at some point? Yes, talking about my early greenhouse grow.

Good morning RL!

Hey, Thank You Kindly Good Buddy! :high-five:

Congratulations, Lester, on your MOTM Nomination, and Good Luck! :cheertwo::woohoo:

And a well deserved nomination.
Hey Thanks BAR! :thanks:

Yeah, Me too. When my plants are happy than I am happy. I love to sit and be with them and watch them rustle in the wind as the Sun gleams on their praying leaves. :circle-of-love:

This was a meaningful comment goofyfoot! I thank you for writing this. You put a smile on my face! I am glad to be able to help the community in our efforts to spread cannabis awareness and so we can all enjoy the fruits of our labor together :Namaste:

I like when they fold along their inner stem at a 90* angle..as if it was like a crease you iron in a shirt sleeve.

That is very interesting! Thanks for sharing! Hopefully SD can get some relief soon, it's supposed to cool down in a general trend starting this weekend / next week, and down into the 70s. Thankfully the fires have not spread to my region as we are not that far away. :Namaste: :surf:

So can a plant that was flowered in early March maintain a flowering mode all summer or will reveg set in at some point? Yes, talking about my early greenhouse grow.

The answer is No.

In general, photosensitive plants that are not far enough along in flower to finish by the Summer Solstice will end up going into revegetation and will flower again in the Fall (the exact timing is based on region).
