Relaxed's 2014 Outdoor Medical Grow

Thanks Dennise! :) :circle-of-love: :circle-of-love:

Joedaddy, I'lll have some smaller plants that should be ready before the big one. But I won't even think about starting to harvest Zilla until the end of this month. However, I have harvested nice plants as early as Sept. 15 before. :surf:

And about Bt, yeah, it's short for Bacillus thuringiensis. It's a bacteria that they acquired out of the gut of a sick moth, it's a great product with out a doubt. I also have the Safer brand one.

Other things which appear to work amazing...

Azamax, which is the trademark name for Azadirachtin, which is a metabolite of the neem seeds. They both work by the same general mechanism, and that is death by starvation. It acts as a growth inhibitor in their guts and disallows them to digest food. Azamax works in a much more general/broad spectrum, and may eliminate other such pests such as mites/aphids, not just catepillars. Bt will mostly just effect 'pillars, and isn't as broad of a spectrum.

Other things that people like, Captain Jacks Dead Bug Brew - I haven't used that one myself, but some really good growers I know use it and swear by the stufff.

And other people prefer and can get away with not spraying ANYTHING at all, and just don't have worm problems... just take a look at Cola Monsters grow :volcano-smiley:

Good morning weed Lester. Wow the colas are building really fast and are getting big. :cheertwo: Looking really good my friend. Love sitting on the patio with Fang and gazing out over the garden. Time to wake and bake :volcano-smiley::circle-of-love::volcano-smiley::circle-of-love::volcano-smiley:

Good Morning brother! :ciao: :circle-of-love: :circle-of-love: Well said :)

So if the buds are showing cloudy/amber and that is where i want it should i chop it down no matter the size of the plant. cause i have one that is mostly cloudy with a few amber but it looks like it could still get bigger. but then it would go more amber by then. just doesn't seem the plant is mature but from the trichomes it looks ready. let me know clippers in hand ready to chop.

You be mindful when spraying oils that you can clog up the pores (stomatas). Stomatas are very important for allowing the plant to PULL water up from the ground, the transpiration of water through the stomatas relieves the positive pressure at the root zone, and so if your stomatas are clogged with carrier oils that could effect the transpiration of your plant, and ultimately the metabolism of complex trace minerals and such. Just a few tidbits of info.

Some people recommend "rinsing the stomatas" after a few days to cleanse them so they can breath good again and continue to absorb an abundance of CO2 through them.

Now, Neem oil itself won't act as a GHI (growth hormone inhibitor), but it's interesting how the active ingredient of Azamax is derived from neem seeds. I think neem oil makes it taste bad to the bugs, but you also need to make sure you don't spray that stuff on your flowers because it can actually make them taste bad (actual neem oil).

Over this growing season, I've used a multitude of different sprays on Zilla and throughout the garden. Mostly SNS products. All natural and food safe organic products.

SNS-203 for fungus gnat and white fly repellent
SNS-209 as an continual systemic insecticide feed through the root zone
SNS-217 for general insect repellent with the aim towards fending off spider mites
SNS-604A as a foliar spray for vegetation, and 604B for the first 2 weeks of flower really helps build those buds. Sea kelp is such a good supplement.

SNS-244 fungicide treatment spray which really does eliminate powder mold! But not only that, it makes the plant less prone to fungus in the future after using. I made sure to use a bunch of applications of this stuff in combination with the other sprays. The full package is really incredible.

And lastly, what I will use to bud wash some buds is the SNS-311 fruit and vegetable wash, I will add a little bit to some warm water, dip, and then re-dip into cooler water. It's basically composed of Sodium bicabonate, and some acid. I've seen someone use it before so gonna give it a try.

Just thought I'd throw all that info in there. Great supplements :thumb:

Joedaddy, the best way to is to take a sample and see where it gets you. If its where you want it than don't feel bad about chopping, I personally don't like a whole lot of amber either, and that last sample cut you made looked pretty good.

But you should also know that the trichomes are not the same everywhere, on the leaf, you may see more amber trichomes, but actually on the buds may be a lot less. If the colas are dense and nicely formed and the trichomes are generally where you want it than I'm sure you're fine. Just make sure they are nice and dense.

Usually my sample cuts are what convince me to either 1) Let it grow more, or 2) To hell with it, and cutting now!

how do you dry your sample for a quick smoke

OK just wanted to do a quick rundown on how I quick dry my "popcorn samples" using my Extreme-Q Vaporizer. I pack the buds into this really high density plastic cap that won't even come close to melting at the specified temperature (100 C). I've experimented with different temperatures, there is some heat loss through the plastic material so the actual heat coming up should be about 95 C. That way I can enjoy some samples while the bulk of the plant is drying regularly. Should be ready to vaporize some this afternoon and then walk the garden and admire the plants gleaming in the Sun and Rustling in the Breeze.

:surf: :ciao:

That's how I do it :volcano-smiley:

Do vaporizers work better than the handheld ones? i have a handheld one but i don't use it much its more for my wife when she wants to smoke. i like using a pipe or rolling one up. i see some vapor on ebay for cheap and wonder if its work getting one. they come with remote controls now what kind of crazy shit is that.

I'm convinced I have the best vaporizer money could buy (can't imagine spending 600$ on a volcano ), and that is the Extreme-Q by Arizer, we had a big discussion about it much earlier in the journal. I prefer vaporizing way more than smoking combustion products, it actually does the buds justice and it is the sound and more healthy way to do it IMO. I've never used a hand-held one so I have no idea how it works. You can probably get the EQ by Arizer for about 150$, same one I use. I've been using mine for 3 years like an industrial machine, day and night non-stop and no problems :) One of the best purchases I've ever made, 'nuff said :) :volcano-smiley:

And yes, there is my remote control for it :)

Now that is a monster. :adore: Love it. :high-five:

Yeah... so it's 80 degrees and the buds are soaking wet from the rains. Very cloudy/wet/hot.

Not a good thing....

I am really hoping the rot doesn't set in. :Namaste:

Ridiculously humid.....

Ouch that weather sucks. :thedoubletake: You need a light wind to help dry it out. Feeling for you Lester. Do you have monster fan? You could aid in the drying a little. Hope all will be good in the end. :volcano-smiley:

Ill Keep my fingers crossed for you Lester
We had the same kind of weather here last week. Hot and humid then wicked rain storms in between only to get hot and humid again. Hope your buds come out of it unscathed!
