Also a quick note about that lamp i posted. My dad hadnt actually purchased anything yet, so i did some research. For 15 bucks cheaper (299.99USD) i can get a 700w mars2 with the 5w chips. Its a smaller more powerful panel, exactly what i need.

lol.. I was at the Dollar Store with my hubby yesterday and the lady in line in front of us had a big tote. I told my hubby I was gonna need one of those soon and he got this smile that was half exasperation and half indulgence and said.. For what, your babies? Of course I had to swat his arm for even thinking of putting my babies in a tote! Then I told him it was for their dirt. haha

I wish my Dad would buy me stuff for my grows, but Ive no doubt hed twist my ear and give me whatfor about drugs and all that propaganda/nonsense. (I really hate to have my ear twisted) lol
Its kind of a shame too because he has a step daughter who is terminally ill (I dont know exactly what it is) and Id like to offer to share my meds, but her Grandpa is a preacher, so Ill just keep my mouth shut.

I was just glad to get through another day without being reported for seedling abuse. They really did take a beating yesterday, and I burnt one of the kush leaves a bit today with a too-close cfl. I want to have them content again in time for the bigger light on Tue. Can't wait to see how they grow under metal halide.

Definitely NOT on the issue of sterilizing the EWC. Sterilization would destroy the very things you buy EWC for. Use right out of the bag. Congrats on getting soil mixed. WooHoo!!!!Coming Together

To be honest, i recently reconnected with my father after being estranged for a long, long time. After talking to him on facebook off and on for a few months.. I brought up that i want to get into the grow room and try to take it to a professional level. He told me his father was a grass roots hippie and that he learned to roll a joint at the age of seven... He had plants in his closet through high school, lol. I guess i have growing in my blood

She means that you shouldn't sterilize it now... That is to say, put it in the oven and pasteurize it with high heat. They do that for you before they package it. That way you know there are no pests or diseases in your soil.

Thats very cool! I love my parents but sometimes I wish they were less.. stiff. I think my Dad would be less shocked, but my mom, she told me several years ago that she wouldnt even know the stuff by the smell of it because to her knowledge she hadnt ever smelled it. I believed her. haha
Personally, I didnt make it out of high school without my introduction to the wonderful scent of cannabis.

i have one haze seedlings and 5 haze seeds. I will be happy if the one already going is male, as that would let me collect pollen. Assuming I want to grow more silver haze after this grow ...
I have a nook in the bathroom that will fit a small sexy-time cabinet. My Scottish ancestors don't want me to buy the same genetics twice. They also object to feminized seeds, and my other ancestors object to auto, or even *fast* strains.

I felt like I was using the wrong tool, a sterilized kitchen scissors. I think a nice set of barber's scissors would be better for fine pruning. Keeping an eye out.

Made by Fiskars. They'll run you between $11 and $16, depending on where and how much shipping you end up paying, but you should be able to source them locally.
They're fine leaf pruners and get right down into wherever with great ease, cutting cleanly and precisely. One of the best gardening tools in my kit.
