Random Thoughts: Plants & Genetics

Thanks a lot KCCO. That means a lot. To tell the truth I wasn't sure If I wanted to keep it. I kind of beat the breeding thing to death sometimes. I thought it was chancing more people away then it attracted. The fact that people are reading is all that matters.

I pretty much get the most of the Random Thoughts thing LOL. It is not like I make it up. All this stuff runs through my mind all the time. I mean ALL the time. That probably means I need a life LMAO. Whats really funny is this is the life I love.

I guess I am just going to stay hear and ramble. It helps clear my mind for more Random stuff LMAO.
Nice I got a notification lmao.
The life you love is the one you want to b living my friend. Honestly it doesn’t matter what your doing. Way too many people living life try to plz others instead of doing what truly makes them happy.
Keep the randomness coming because I find this a great place to watch stains unfold.

Nope Dankman I know when I am beat LOL. Ice auger shit the bed half way through the first hole. I ended up having to chip out holes with a spud bar the rest of the day. On the bright side I broke down and bought me one of those fancy dancy electric augers. 10" model doesn't cut as much ice as because of the metal blade but it cuts plenty for me for a day of fishing. Modern technology is a wonderful thing LOL. Those Ion ice augers are cutters.

KCCO In just a few short weeks I will be smoking 3 different hybrids of mine. I am pretty happy with what I have seen and heard about them. I know what I am breeding now is better than what I bred before. A lot of this has to do with the genetics that I am using now are better. This makes it really hard to decide what to grow. My stuff or look at new stuff. Anyone that follows me knows I can stay away from growing new stuff LOL.

I also love the new stuff as well and I love a few of your choices from Humboldt.
The New looks very interesting to me but I’m the worst to figure out what I want to grow.
I can relate to the decision making mmmm lmao.
Now I have a mom from 2012 and another stain from 2019. I love it all.

I was after big lake trout yesterday. If I wasn't chopping out holes I would have moved to a different part of the lake to fish for rainbows. Mostly I fish for trout because of the fight. I do keep fish but mostly practice catch and release.

I now live right next to a lake full of walleye, perch, ling, trout. I need to figure walleye out now.

Love fishing for Walleye. I try to go to Ottawa river once a year for walleye. We smashed some nice ones out of there but I think I had my best walleye fishing in
Onaping 2 years ago. I’ve fished all my life and have never seen shit like that before. I don’t keep them either because too many people are and if next gen has any hope it starts somewhere.

Well I guess I proved my point to myself. Never rush to fix stuff. Everything seems to be looking fine except the sick Bag of Oranges that has been sick for a while. I have treated it with Lilly Miller B-1 plant starter. I am hoping some of what is in the LM will fix it.

One of the plants that was looking wilty I bent over and tied it down.( I will teach it to mess with me) 4 hours later it was already turned around and headed for the light. Nothing wrong with that plant at all. It is just a ugly plant with long internodes. One of the Ghost train Haze plants. You can see it to in the middle on the far left. Right next to the sick BOO. What is really funny is how great the SSH exactly opposite of it looks. That is a great looking Haze plant. I would love to see the size of the leaves on that plant grown outdoors.

Here is a picture of the new up and comers.

2 plants trimmed so far and 2 more to do today. I will pretty much be doing 2 plants a day till they are done. The Bubblicious left a great pine cleaner smell to the my resin coated fingers. The Gorilla Widow smell good but I can't put it into words. It is on the Hash side as far as I can tell. Still never saw G.G.#4 or White Widow in this plant. Growth wise I can see W.W. but the smells and flavors are not there. Thing is, it looks to be a good plant all around. It produced and is fairly strong from the test bud I tried last week. Thing is it is not what they said it was. Someone not knowing would love this plant and swear by the breeder just from the way this plant produced.

Both the Gorilla Widow from Expert Seeds and Blue Dream from BlimBurn grew well but showed no traces of what the strain should be. The Blue Dream smells like what I think people are calling Zkittelz. It has a imitation fruity smell. Not the Blueberry you would expect from Blue Dream. It is the same imitation smell I get from the orange in Tangie.

I better close now and get to trimming. 2 bushy assed plants to trim today.

So true Pennywise. That is one of the main reasons I use the breeders I do. In most case's what I find is close to what I expect. The key being is knowing what to expect. I base things on what I know of the strains in a whole and not so much what they say. Everyone perceives things in different ways.

In the end. All that matters is if a person is happy with what they got. Like I mentioned it doesn't seem that they are bad plants.

I'm not the best with discribeing terps either. I get the most flavor on the exhale. The ones I pinpoint easily are lemon and pine. Most of the time it's earthy dankness. Which I like if it's smooth

My Ting has a menthol flavor that coats my mouth on the exhale. At first I thought it was really nice. Probably because it's something I never had before. But now I'm thinking about letting it go after I cross it with Chernobyl. Chernobyl is gas and citrus. At the moment it's my favorite

Funny shit Dankman. After a couple months of Menthol Purps and I was over the newness and it was just weed again LOL.

I'm with you guys and notice more of the Dank side of the flavors more also. I have had a few really sweet strains before but have only grown one plant that had good sweet flavor. Of course I crossed it with Jacks Cleaner so it will be sour from now on LMAO. Dank and Fuel are easy. I really need a good sweet strain.

Speaking of sweet strains. Seedsman managed to loose one of my black Friday orders. I figured something was up but I waited to be sure. Yep the second order came before the first. You think that would make me mad. Nope I'm good. The order that did show up was the one with the Ed Rosenthal Super Bud and the Queen of Soul. I am hoping to find a sweet pineapple pheno from one of these 2. The ERSB I plan to use in multiple ways and hybrids. It should be easy to find the indica leaning pheno in males and females.

I need to find out more info on Queen of Soul. Mostly about Vortex they used to back cross into Princess a couple times. I kind of what to see where they went with it. I am real curious how similar Queen of Soul is to C-99. I will probably cross one into the other. At least now I can spread the Cindy genetics around a little more.

See I can take any conversation and turn it back to breeding. I NEED HELP! LMAO.

I started bending and twisting the new starts yesterday. That and I topped a few plants. All the Clown Royal got topped but one. I have been super cropping all plants the last couple weeks. The CR don't seem to want to bush out like the others. The Ghost Train Haze also got topped. I can't say I am in love with the way GTH grows. They have shitty internode spacing at best. The short one I might cross with SSH but at this point I don't even know about that one. The tall pheno is way to tall and lanky to keep for anything.

I have found my favorite SSH already. It is a beautiful bushy plant with huge long fingered leaves. All the SSH look the same with just some height differences. If this is a male it is in the lead for a pollen donor. That is if a different plant doesn't change my mind. I will be looking hard at the males one could easily change my mind by putting out a few trichomes.

T2 to is finished and dried enough to smoke. Holy Crap! It is a little early to start patting myself on the back. I may be doing just that before long. The high is incredible. Not strong daytime weed like the Tangilope was. This has a lot more holy crap I'm high to it. I would be uncomfortable running around in public on this. There really doesn't seem to be much body to it. It is also not nice and relaxing like Cannalope Haze. Its not like any sativa high I have had. Sativa's rarely have a oh fuck stage for me LOL.

One thing I noticed and was rather surprised about. I was this close to getting bud mold. You can't see how close my fingers are together but trust me it was close LMAO. Lots of this had to do with the fact plants were running pretty low on nuits. What I found was the buds on T2 was so tight. They choked off the stems of lots of leaves once they ran low on nuits. They didn't have the strength to hold it back. This killed the leaves. No big deal I thought. What I found trimming is what was left of those leaves. They didn't dry up they just died. This left moist leaf matter buried below the level of the buds. I found no mold at all and checked everything over well. If this plant had needed 2 more weeks I think it would have been ruined. I saw some similar things when I did have bud mold. I don't know that is what would of happened. I am just guessing. It sure looked bad when I first noticed what was happening.
