Re: Ramble In The Jungle Feat - OG Kush - Ultra Dog - Ghost Train Haze & Colombian Do

Hey Conrad,

I got my red algae in the mail yesterday. I had no idea I was buying the quantity of a pop can lol. I can't understand the Web site from the link lol its in Italian. I sent them an email asking how to order a week ago but they haven't got an email back. I'm going to go check the UK ebay.

So last night I added 1/4 cup to 5 cups of worm castings and mixed it together. Then I top dressed the plants with about 1.25 cups each. I worked that into the top inch of soil. Then I mixed a batch of water with 4.5 gallons RO water 1 cup budswell (liquid bat guano) 1/2 cup liquid fish 1 cup fulpower (humic acid) and fed them with 1.25 gallons each.

If you're wondering why i'm telling you this, today when I went in the tent they looked the healthiest I've ever seen them throughout the entire grow. Do you think that red algae could make a difference that fast? I guess it could be a placebo but I swear they got a full shade darker and a little more waxy overnight. lol, I'm probably imagining things.

Re: Ramble In The Jungle Feat - OG Kush - Ultra Dog - Ghost Train Haze & Colombian Do

I cannot tell you a lot about it (ghost train haze) myself, it's first time I'm growing it. Not very vigorous, not very branchy, but very stretchy. Hopefully it's gonna have a reasonable flowering time, and is gonna produce some quality smoke.

I've got one in week 5 right now. It was neglected and was only an afterthought once the other one I popped was a dude. It's stretchy, wide internode spacing, bulbous buds that have almost all required staking, and mine has been a light feeder/drinker too. Flowers have a distinct OG smell, or at least you know it's in there somewhere. 3-5 weeks left on it so we'll see.

:popcorn:It's been some time since I last checked out you grow. Thought I needed to peek in on another outdoor grower. I have 5 BID genetics plants going outside at the present time. (All in different stages of flowering) The others indoors are all his genetics too except an OG Kush auto/fem I got from Herbies. If you have a chance, stop by and tell me what you think. Weekly update with pictures will be posted in the afternoon. The link is in my signature.:Namaste:

I don't think you'd get such a quick response from a plant, in my experience it takes 48 to 72 hrs for any organic fertilizer to kick in as it has to be broken down by bacteria and funghi. However this humic acid might have done the job as it's easy for plant to absorb. I'm sure you're gonna see full benefits of extra calcium and magnesium in couple of days :thumb:

Yep mutant, all my phenos seem to have weird pattern of growth and they do not respond well to High Brix soil, but responded well to additional shot of nitrogen.

Re: Ramble In The Jungle Feat - OG Kush - Ultra Dog - Ghost Train Haze & Colombian Do

Mmmmmmmmm im very interested in the f3 it sounds delicous, will u only b doing outdoors grows do u have any indoor journals for me to salivate over, also high brix media, do u have info or a link reguarding construction and maintenance.Another quick question reguarding the A and AA on jars does that refer to quality or breed or something else.Thx in advance and heavy yields to ya

Re: Ramble In The Jungle Feat - OG Kush - Ultra Dog - Ghost Train Haze & Colombian Do

Hey man! No indoor here, all the plants are grown outdoor from start to finish. A and AA is a signature for the mothers so I know where the seeds came from.

High Brix media for cannabis is Doc Bud's specialty, it's ProMix + calcium carbonate + worm castings + mycorrhizae spores, and that's for you folks over there. Any soil can be turned into High Brix medium though, and I went with my own mix which is based on local soil. This is terra rossa + loam + lithothamnium + biochar + powdered egg shells + calcium carbonate + volcanic rock dust + inoculant.

Green day to ya :bong:

Re: Ramble In The Jungle Feat - OG Kush - Ultra Dog - Ghost Train Haze & Colombian Do

I've read about 10 books worth of info over the last 2 weeks. I'm thanking you Conradino for showing me the way, and that I can do it myself. I've never even visited doc buds page but I've gone straight to the source reading some of the world's experts on the topic. I'm as excited for this as I was when I first started my organic journey. I really appreciate your expertise and willingness to share info. You are a gentleman, and I'm grateful that you share information so willingly.

Really all I had to do was look at your plants and I knew you knew what you were talking about. Thanks Conrad! :thanks:

And don't forget to buy a refractometer!

Re: Ramble In The Jungle Feat - OG Kush - Ultra Dog - Ghost Train Haze & Colombian Do

So I'm dropping these pics of transplanted seedlings. We had a rainstorm last night so the soil is very soggy. I usually start watering them in June or July though, cause until then it rains regularly.

Re: Ramble In The Jungle Feat - OG Kush - Ultra Dog - Ghost Train Haze & Colombian Do

I see the Ultra Dog has been used as a snack bar by something, how do you deal with insects when they are this young in your outdoor grow?

Oh by the way I started reading from page 1 but my ADS got the best of me and I jumped to the end
Beautiful country by the way

Re: Ramble In The Jungle Feat - OG Kush - Ultra Dog - Ghost Train Haze & Colombian Do

I don't do anything I just wait, High Brix will usually pop up to defend them. If it doesn't survive it won't but it rarely happens in my grows

Re: Ramble In The Jungle Feat - OG Kush - Ultra Dog - Ghost Train Haze & Colombian Do

Gday again just wondering if u were takin the piss by saying powdered egg shells. To me powdered eggs wouldnt have a shell they come in powder form.Unless the actual shells are crushed and powderised.I ve got chooks at home and u can buy grit to feed them, hardening the egg shells. Its cheap as and made of oyster shells.

Re: Ramble In The Jungle Feat - OG Kush - Ultra Dog - Ghost Train Haze & Colombian Do

Speaking of egg shells wen my worms are at lower levels of farm i put egg shells on top layer to move worms back to upper levels, then i get castings easier with no stress to worms,i dont know y they do it but it works for me

Yep that's what I do, I grind them into fine powder, which then goes straight into the soil. They are 97-98% calcium carbonate, so it's just more calcium in your soil basically. I also saw people making calcium acetate with vinegar, and using it as a foliar spray.

Re: Ramble In The Jungle Feat - OG Kush - Ultra Dog - Ghost Train Haze & Colombian Do

Few pics of my seedlings on this sunny day. They got some more clover tea today, and most of them will be transplanted this week. Some of them are showing light nitrogen deficiency, a sure sign this soil needs more energy boosting, which is why I got them some. Well, this is one of downsides of keeping them in small pots too, I think roots are already packing there, but not for long :smokin:

Here's OG Kush already stretching as this strain does
