Ramble In The Jungle Feat - OG Kush - Ultra Dog - Ghost Train Haze & Colombian Dog

Re: Ramble In The Jungle Feat - OG Kush - Ultra Dog - Ghost Train Haze & Colombian Do

Good laugh is good in the morning, eh? :laughtwo:

And here are some pics from my morning trip!

Bamboo patch and fresh biochar, which I put in the bag and used for transplanting.

I dig a little hole, I mix soil with biochar, and then I put a plant. Quick and simple. Once the roots attach to biochar they get crazy cause they are very porous! It also provides steady release of sulfur, which is later needed in bigger amounts in flowering.

Plants are strong, stems have already hardened, and new growth is green and lush, which means roots got familiar with the new soil. After another week new tops should bring them back to speed :thumb:

lol Chz!!

They are looking so dang healthy Conrad! That ghost train haze looks like it's paying to the sun. Leaves couldn't reach any higher.

Do you think the spot where the plants get eaten a little might not produce as high brix numbers as the other spots? Or is it too early for seedlings to have high brix? Just wondering out loud. :Namaste:

Did you top that GTH? I ask because mine was a mutant that started o.k., but slow, then after about the third node didn't want to push normal leaves for 2 nodes. Currently, it's ugly as hell, but has a really nice terpene profile...and about 2 weeks left on it (will make it a 10-weeker this round)

Here it was back then...

Yep I topped it, and I'm waiting for new tops to grow like I'd be waiting for cargo of coconuts from Brasil probably. It's a weird plant, that I can tell. By the way, I can see you have the same purple pheno.

Definitely you can produce High Brix numbers in early veg, but I'll wait with first reading until they are slightly bigger, cause I don't want to rip them apart when they need their foliage. I think this little spot is very exposed for insects to detect the plants, and also this particular plant itself has quite strong smell, which brings the insects in the first place. But they weren't able to kill it, and that's what counts. I saw much worse I'm telling you, so actually there's a kind of progress here :thumb:

My soil is so rich in fungi and bacteria that there's really no need, microlife will find its way there very quickly.

Re: Ramble In The Jungle Feat - OG Kush - Ultra Dog - Ghost Train Haze & Colombian Do

How would someone go about charging fresh biochar?

Hello Magic!

I add fish fertiliser, mychorizae, and a bit of the soil or substrate that the plant is going to grow in, add water and leave it for a couple of of days and then use it.

PS I grind/pound my biochar to a rough powder (drive the car over it repeatedly for large quantities)

I wouldn't really use the word sterile, but I know what you mean :thanks:

Oops sorry for that :bong:

Re: Ramble In The Jungle Feat - OG Kush - Ultra Dog - Ghost Train Haze & Colombian Do

When you put your plants out this early, do they go into bloom with the short days? I'm trying to decide when I'm "safe".
Last year my neighbor put some of his girls out early and they flipped right away. When the days got longer, the plants re-veg'd, but never got fully back on track. Those plants didn't produce nearly as well as his others.

Re: Ramble In The Jungle Feat - OG Kush - Ultra Dog - Ghost Train Haze & Colombian Do

Major, they don't and this year I started them in February in order to work them for yield a little bit more. However growing from clone and from seed are two very different things, so they are in different mode. As soon as you cut down the photoperiod of a clone it will start flowering and it will go into reveg where a lot of energy is wasted. But cannabis grown from seed will keep vegging as long as the day is getting longer even if it starts with less than 12 hrs of light.

Re: Ramble In The Jungle Feat - OG Kush - Ultra Dog - Ghost Train Haze & Colombian Do

Thanks Conrad! Makes sense. I have a mixed bag outside, both from seed and cuttings. Some are old and are already covered in pre-flowers so I'm going to keep my GLR routine going for a while.
