Ramble In The Jungle Feat - OG Kush - Ultra Dog - Ghost Train Haze & Colombian Dog

He definitely is forward thinking kind of guy.

Re: Ramble In The Jungle Feat - OG Kush - Ultra Dog - Ghost Train Haze & Colombian Do

It's been five days since we saw the sun last time, just a terrible week with RH around 85%. And cause it's a first day without a rain I went to check on the plants in The Sunny Spot. They are mostly fine except one GTH which got beaten up by rain. I actually start hating this strain, it's freaky, it's slow, and purple pheno shows yellow tips on the new growth, and I don't know why. And the other pheno has way too weak stems than I'd like to see. Not the best outdoor strain, so no way I'm gonna grow it again. It was probably bred indoor, and that's where it belongs. Fortunately I didn't pay for these seeds, my buddy gave them to me.

Ok so here we go with the pics :thumb:

Great pics. Curious to see if those GTH give you some nice buds. Seems to be a lot of variation in flavor with the GTH from seed.

Re: Ramble In The Jungle Feat - OG Kush - Ultra Dog - Ghost Train Haze & Colombian Do

It looks like there's gonna be little leaf, a lot of stretch, and maybe decent amount of bud if these stems keep beefing up and don't snap.

Re: Ramble In The Jungle Feat - OG Kush - Ultra Dog - Ghost Train Haze & Colombian Do

Looking fantastic Conrad!

They all are thriving even the GTH laying on its side looks healthy. Like you say, it's probably an indoor strain. You might have to tie them up and do some indoor training techniques to get the most out of them. Maybe even a tomato cage and once they reach the top they should be acclimated enough to grow without further support?

Stellar grow!

Re: Ramble In The Jungle Feat - OG Kush - Ultra Dog - Ghost Train Haze & Colombian Do

That's a good advice, I might give them some support if I see more of leaning and falling down. It's a pity I can't go balls out there with cages and stuff to get the most out of them, but I can do some training indeed.

Re: Ramble In The Jungle Feat - OG Kush - Ultra Dog - Ghost Train Haze & Colombian Do

I only ran a single tester, but your description mirrors my experiences with the GTH too. It was lanky, ugly, mildly finicky at certain stages, and needed supports early on. I contemplated culling it more than once, but I had tray space so let it go. I just canned 2 zips of GHT #1, and I will admit...it's really nice. Nugs are tight, but not compact stones. It's frosty as hell and has that gassy OG along with a nice pastel floral aroma. I'm trying some this afternoon (almost 4 week cure).

Re: Ramble In The Jungle Feat - OG Kush - Ultra Dog - Ghost Train Haze & Colombian Do

Hey man that was really good info :thumb: It's the only reason I cope with this mutant, cause the smoke's supposed to be top shelf. I think I know why they're kicking a fuss on me, not used to temperature jumps or heavy rains. I'm convinced it's some problem with root zone not being comfortable with all this water, drop in PH and too little mycorrhizae established by the plant. But now once the sun is on again I'm sure they're gonna feel better. However I'm gonna go there with some bamboo sticks to provide some support.

Looking good Conradino.. I wish we could grow out doors like you. I'm super jelly. Girls are coming along looking very healthy.

Keep it green buddy!

Re: Ramble In The Jungle Feat - OG Kush - Ultra Dog - Ghost Train Haze & Colombian Do

Hey bobrown14 :thanks: weather's been fine for the last few days, so things should get even better. I'm gonna take first Brix reading this week, so I know what to do next.

And here are some pics from The Shady Spot, a location I discovered couple of yrs ago, where now I grow only risky plants or test genetics for extreme conditions. This season I put there 4 UDs that looked like they could've been male or longer finishing phenos, so I didn't want to outplant them into my favorite spots.

This is actually a good example of environment forced stretching :cheesygrinsmiley:

Looking good, man! :bravo:
I hope to finally put a few in the ground over the next week or so.

Waiting for it, Major!

Re: Ramble In The Jungle Feat - OG Kush - Ultra Dog - Ghost Train Haze & Colombian Do

Drive bye. Low light of a early spring planting will give them that stretch. Really makes a sativa jump out. Girls are looking great my friend. Some fat ass starts. I've tried the SLH here and she just didn't like the rains of Oct 1st. Great plant. Some of the tastiest buds I've smoked in awhile. Sorry I'm not on as much, but I do drive thru every now and then.

Re: Ramble In The Jungle Feat - OG Kush - Ultra Dog - Ghost Train Haze & Colombian Do

Grew it once in air-pot in the middle of the summer. My buddy who sent me 2 seeds loves this smoke. I often get headache in the middle of the buzz and then I go suddenly couchlock when indica finally hits. Not really my type of sativa but I know people who'll love it so I keep my pleasure of growing it anyway. However she really kicked off with a blast, and keeps being my strongest plant so far next to my UDs, and this is something I really have to admit :thumb:

Re: Ramble In The Jungle Feat - OG Kush - Ultra Dog - Ghost Train Haze & Colombian Do

First Brix reading, 4 plants only.

OG Kush: 10/11 Brix
Ultra Dog (the one planted next to OG): 11/12 Brix
Purple GTH: 11/12 Brix
SLH: 10/11 Brix

I broke the top of SLH while trying to pluck the leaf, surprisingly brittle stem. But there are gonna be two in the same place when I come back next time. As you can see there are no extreme Brix drifts in these plants, and the numbers aren't bad for early veg. However they lead me to believe they sucked too much nitrogen and potassium already and should be on calcium/magnesium diet for a while, so I'm gonna top dress with powdered egg shells, feed liquid lithothamnium and take another reading in two weeks to see if they moved up a notch. I'd be happy with 12-14 till first week of June, and I'd like to see 17-20 by the time they enter late flowering. Well that's the plan at least :smokin2:

I also top dressed today with freshly picked horsetail mainly for silica content (up to 25% of silica in these plants), but also for calcium and manganese, and I tied the weak GTH (however she stood up by itself) and OG Kush, cause I want to train that one to get more even canopy and more buds. Ok, so that's it folks :Namaste:
