Hey guys. I have no idea what CD is. Can you explain it to me and others?

I can half explain- as in repeat words with a shallow understanding of their meaning. CD (Cat Drench) is short for Cationic Root Drench.

Cationic - full of cations, positive charged particles which are presumably very chemically active/reactive.
Root - targeting the root zone when used as a ...
Drench - Fully soaking (the soil.)

While it might be interesting to understand the chemical breaking/forming of bonds and the science behind the timing, for the purposes of this journal I will define it as follows:

Cat Drench is a mystical formulation found exclusively in Doc Bud's HiBrix kit. For a flowering Cannabis at the correct stage of bud development, application of the correct amount to the root zone, sends a magical message to the plant to bloom faster, with more trichomes and a more nuanced fragrance than would happen during the natural process of bud development.

Unlike standard bloom nutrients and bloom enhancers, it is only applied at one stage in earliy-ish flower, 2 repetitions a few days apart.

P.S.
I love your use of the name Seymore Nuggets. My daughter turned in a high school assignment today featuring the name Hugh Janus. The teacher cracked up

So this is a specific product in a kit that does this and we dont really know whats inside is it only used in high brix organic setups? I have seen some pictures and it seems to worl when done right. Thanks for explaining half :-)

Either DocBud or a magical toke will explain the other half :passitleft:

Thanks. If i only knew i could have called me Seymore Nuggets instead of this, but you got me right. Nugget is actually a pseudonyme of mine i got from a mate and i like it. Had quite a laugh about your families humour.... It fits mine pretty well to this point lol. Hugh Janus... LOL... Thats cool in my book.

I get back to the beloved plants because we all wanna seymore nugget right? Miiihiiihiiii

I planned to put some new plants into my tent in 6 weeks after i am done with my current flowering. But now reading more about organic gardening and remembering my first grow where i went for all organic homemade soil i think i will take a break and cook some soil during the warm season and store it inside for some month when it gets colder. I had the healthiest plants and a good yield on my first grow in that soil even after using chelated ferts after 3 weeks of veg ... The other 2 grows in premixed non organic HQ soil and perlite just dont turned out that great, this time i used mycorrhizae and i got some beautiful plants growing even sitting in a harsh mineral ferted soil and heavy problems after am accidently dry out... And i mean a heavy dryout...another 24h later and they would have been dry to the snap.

I try to remember what i used in my soil... It is 2,5 years and severeal oz of pure thc later now :-) BRAIN DAMAGE. Have to translate everything in english too

OK. THINK NUGGET, THINK
I think i got it.

I used 60L of unferted soil as a base and spread it on a big canvas to let the hot sun 'desinfect' it for some days or kill unbenefitial stuff to a point. Then i added 30L of wormcasting on top and 10 to 15L of perlite. I am not shure how much of the following ingedrients but it was maybe a total 10 percent of the base soil.

Primitive rock dust (mainly SiO2, Magnesium and some trace elements)
Horn dust (for faster nitrogen release)
Horn flakes (for slower nitrogen release)
Dry fish powder
Powdered pinguine guano
Dolomite lime
More Silica

I folded the green canvas over and let it cook for 2 weeks in half shade, sometimes i dragged it into the sun and mixed it and let it cook for some hours. After 2 weeks i used the soil and placed seeds inside. They were thriving even under a semi-crappy LED

I used liquid vitamins and mycorrhizae from start to end, natural molasses during flower too. The airpots were crowded with healthy white roots and i got 8oz from a 300W LED. 2,5x2,5 on 9 small autos. Maybe 8 to 10 inches high. I could press the soil down with my foot and could not rip out the plants without brutal forces after i harvested. I used the same soil on a single Northern Lights i vegged for 5 month in the living room only with window sun and i got 5oz from that plant harvested a lil too early. The flowering was done under the same 300w led in a tent.

The grows after that got worse and worse because i got lazy and bought premixed HQ mineral ferted soil simply adding perlite using the same chelated ferts. I could rip out the plants with ease... Nothing strong at all.

So thats part of my story lol. If you want more from nuggets life visit the threads in my sig.

Is it possible to go mostly organic (low EC) in a coco-perlite-soil-blend? I want to try some coco/perlite mix in my 2x3 closet and grow 2 plants in 30 or 40L pots and use the same organic components again

Epsoms and REscue drench! FTW!

The Mystical formulation is liquid fish, ammonium phosphate and ammonium sulfate, with phosphoric acid and a micro package. Cationic nitrogen (NH3) or the ammonia form of nitrogen stimulates reproductive action in the plant, as do other cations, like S, P and Ca. The Cat Drench is very concentrated and so it really "slams" the plant into reproductive mode. Hence the snowstorm immediately after application.

No....why assume no one knows what's in it? I've said many times what's in it. Ingredients might even be on the label?

And yes, it's in my High Brix kit.
Hey doc. No offense. It just sounded that way when he said mystical :-)

Does this formula work with non organic non hb grows too?

I get a little touchy......occasionally, people who I don't know, who don't know my gear, who know nothing at all like to say bad things just because. I need to be more patient!

No, my products will not work in "normal" soil. They might do something useful, on accident, but they are designed to be used in concert with the other products, the specific myco in the Roots! product and of course High Brix soil. It's a system, based on living soil.

Sounds logic. Thanks alot. Any way to grab your kit in the european union without paying more shipping and taxes then the price of the kit? I would want to try it on 2x30L pots

Hm. I have much medicinal stuff to read on my desk, but why i should go check him out exactly?

Well... because another reading/thinking human named Tead recommended it (yup... Tead's a smartass.... heavy on the ass). Further, I would suggest that if you're unaware of even his name, you might be missing a very nice and interesting corner of the literary world.

Thanks Doc Bud !

The AK47 (42 days with yellowing fan leaves) had 2 TBSP epsom salts on 3/3 - 6 days ago. I didn't notice the yellowing then.
Amherst Sour Diesel had 2 TBSP of epsom salts in veg (2-3) and then again on 2 weeks into flower lighting (2-27.)
Borderliner had no epsom.

What is the trigger for you suggesting epsom salts ?
Which plants ?
In what amounts ?

I was following your advice blindly - but I guess I ought to start understanding how to help these plants grow better.

2 asses in here. LOL. Possible, but i am not into the scifi or novels. I prefere med stuff and growing. Maybe i should read the bible first... :-) you can call me ignorant. I am when it comes to books

Ignorant, tho perhaps technically correct, has many negative connotations. I'll stay with 'under exposed'.
Dig in a touch. I don't know anyone that hasn't enjoyed reading AC Clarke.
