Radogast 2 - Return of the Clones

Rado,
my first run was in miracle grow inside a soda cooler. with 2 cfls. didn't work too well. those were little plants. I don't think any of us are born with this or if we were we get steered away by the Jorge cervates misinformation. I wont ever have anything negative to say to ya. period. I will watch and if possible, help when asked. that's it. :)

still jealous of your hardwood, my pine burned up and the house is cold this morn.

AK47 - two days old in 6 inch pot

wow! I want a slider! And I love ya bro but that was the most hurtin grow....lmao! So glad to see that nice seed popping at the end!

Oh gnat tip. I use double sided tape to catch eggs falling from leaves and gnats from becoming airborn from soil. When I do this I put a 1 inch pvc tube "snorkel" in the pot to devliver water below there habitat. Just be sure to screen the pvc tube,

Two days ago my leaves were mostly green, I watered with plain water and now they are mostly yellow.
I am not over watering, more likely under watering.

New soil this grow. New lights this grow. And now my new seeds have gnats.

I ripped out the 300w TopLEDs. (About 150 actual watts reach)
Switched back to a 216w T5 CFL and a 600w HPS.

The slider has a lot going for it.
It smokes like a fat joint.
As it burns, the ash can be pushed out the front.
You can carry 2 or 3 bowls with in the size of a small pipe.
The green doesn't fall out.
You can put it out and relight later.
You can see your green as it burns.

The only place a joint is better is the rush of smoking the last bit of a roach, when this burns down to roach level it no longer smokes well.

it seems FG are pretty common in the bagged soils. I could also say its seems FG are pretty frickin' common in general. I am able to keep them at bay, (like seeing a few only per room visit), I don't think its even possible to totally eradicate them in my garden based on the last couple years of living with them. Didn't you use mosquito dunks last time to get rid of them? that is one option I personally haven't tried yet but I would it I got infested again. Everyone who uses gnatrol or some kind of BTI has good stuff to say about it, you included if I remember correctly??

nice new glass.

so when are you going to dig yourself out of the dirt and start growing in rockwool?

Not gona find gnats hiding in the box of grow cubes, or in a sleeve of rockwool blocks waiting to infest your garden again.

If you wanna get rid of FG.. try Microbe-Lift Pond Control for Mosquitos. TheCapn did a blog article on it (before he deleted them all and left 420) and its effectiveness against gnats.

I personally have had no real issues with FG growing in rockwool, as the RW is much less inviting for the gnats to lay their eggs in compared to soil.

Rather than namby pamby rocks that have been melted and spun into cotton candy, I plan on just rocks.
Next year, after I grow some garden herbs in the rocks.

This grow I changed lights, and soil at the same time. Not liking it so I switched back to T5 cfl and 600w hps
The 9.5 oz from July/August is all smoked up.
I need some good harvests before I start playing around again.

Was there some reason why you removed the LED light panels and are now useing your other lights?

I was getting a lot of yellowing of lower leaves, dark green of upper leaves, and failure to thrive.
EDIT: (By lower leaves I mean everything below the top one or two sets of leaves. )
Plus I wasn't visiting the room much because of the harsh lighting, so I was neglecting and delaying things like repotting.

I had changed too much (soil and lights.) I was struggling too much. I wanted to go back to something more familiar.

I haven't given up on LEDs on general, or even these specific LEDs, but I have spent 5 months in veg without producing something ready to flower.

I need to grow something I can harvest!

I agree that when your results are not as expected you should always reconsider any changed grow environment conditions or nutrients changes. When unable to determine the cause(s) of lower then expectations I recommend a grower go back to previously used reliable methods and re evaluate smaller changes or additions to the grow environment or nutrients in future grows to ensure a reliable production of cannabis medicine.

Yay this thread's going again - but I'm really sorry for your growing issues Rado! it really is surprising to see how little progress your plants have made :S I wish I could help with that but idk why your plants are so stunted still. Maybe you need to dim the lights a bit, I've found a little CFL light really goes a long way during early growing/veg.

At least that little glass blunt is cool though.

Glad you're back from wandering the forests of New Earth (New England/Middle Earth combined Lol ... I know, I'm lame. :laughtwo:) on your Rosgobel Rabbit Sled.

:peace:

If I have been quiet on this thread, it's that old rule: "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything."

I will be repotting in about 12 hours. I switched back to the lights I used on my first grow.

If I can't save all the stunted clones, at least the new seeds have a good chance at success :)

P.S. Your "lame" humor is welcome any time.
Considering I have half planned to build a druid circle in my back yard this winter, and I just bought a Churchwarden pipe, I really do resemble your remarks :rofl::rofl:
:bongrip::circle-of-love::laughtwo::laughtwo::slide::slide::slide:

P.p.s.I just noticed I have a framed map of Middle Earth on the wall to my right :p

hahahahaha that was awesome Rado. I love you.

In a totally platonic, lame, nerdy way that is of course hahaha. :laughtwo:

And yay I'm glad for the new seeds you're starting. Sending positive we-can-turn-this-grow-around vibes to you Aiwendil. (oh yeah - I just went Silmarillion on you LOL. - I was just reading about Radogast on the LOTR wiki. Apparently as a Maiar (demigod/spirit of the first music that didn't sing) he was called Aiwendil and Gandalf was called Olorin.:rofl::rofl: ...this stuff should be common knowledge right? Ha.)

You know which ego seems to know the most about LOTR?
Stephen Colbert. Peter Jackson consultanted with him during the first filming of LOTR and again during The Hobbit Movies

I am not a full blown LOTR geek. Sunday a shopkeeper spoke Welsh to me. I referred her to my daughter who speaks Lothlorien style Elvish. I mean... she says she speaks Elvish. Sounds elvish to me!

The Noble collection that arrived in the mail today, it was the smokable Bilbo pipe that got the most attention.
I like wands, but won't buy a storebought wand. Not with beech trees in my yard. Besides, the darn wand might not work
Not even the Harry Potter wand that doubles as a remote control :rofl::slide::slide::slide::slide::slide::slide::slide:
