Quix's SSH from Clone - Chocolate NL Re-Veg & Other Fun Strains Coming Soon!

Air-scrog is neat no screen needed and you can move the plant around if must. Is the SSH a mom or will you flower her later?

Hey brother 12 thanks for asking. She's actually a clone of a clone; One of two that I rescued from a guy who really didn't know what to do with them. I hadn't planned on her, and her sister in my grow this round. I was given some other clones that I'm trying to root right now, too, and will eventually flower the SSH, along with a few clones of hers, and a Durban poison, and a Widow. I'm just waiting for roots on 7 clones right now, then will do a transplant, wait a week, then flower everyone!! I know I should do more updates, but they're all in a bit of a state of suspended animation ATM, and I've been really busy with things around here.
Thanks for checking in though, see you around!!:Namaste:

Hey quix, didnt even know this was happening. Glad to see youre back. Subbed for sure. Thats amazing how your NL lady survived! Will be chiming in!

Hey there brother Beans! Well, thanks for stoppin in buddy, but I'm sorry to say that my Chocolate NL wasn't coming along well at all, so I scrapped her shortly after starting this journal. I'm currently running one Super Silver Haze from clone, and am rooting 7 other clones at the moment. I have one Durban Poison, and one CJ Widow clone, and 5 SSH clones. This whole gro is from rescued, and or salvaged clones that other's couldn't or didn't know how to grow. I should be getting into veg with the clones soon, say 2 weeks or so, and will immediately flip them all to 12/12, or 13/11.....When this set of plants is done, I'll start my StrawberryDiesel and other fun strains....Nice to see you around bud don't be a stranger!:thanks:

Well guys I know there's been a serious lack of updates over here, sorry about that. I've been waiting for something more exciting to report, but these clones are slow to root, and my SSH mom is slow gegging as well. Plus I've been doing a lot of reading on others' threads.
But heres the latest from Quix's closet....

The Durban poison and CJ Widow clones are still alive, and I'm hopeful I'll see roots in the coming week. I do believe that taking clones from a flowering plant is a waste of time, unless it is of great importance to the grower to save a strain, or the grower is out of seeds with no way to get more in time for a succeeding grow. It just takes too damn long.
The SSH clones I took are alive still, and should be showing som roots soon as well.

I got curious and decided to foliar feed all the clones about a week ago. This is not a good idea with clones without roots, from the reading I did AFTER I did the feeding. You can see the SSH clones didnt take well to the feeding.

The DP and CJ W have a little yellowing, but it's just the plant taking energy to make roots....

The mom is still looking strong, just slow...

I gave all the clones a little tug upward to see if there was any resistance, which to me indicates that there are roots digging into the sides of the rockwool. All but one put up a fight, and I managed to pull one of the SSH clones up from the rockwool. There are the beginnings of root buds forming on her though so I think even she will make it.
I'm getting really anxious to flip 12s on these girls. Getting really anxious to pollinate the DP with my NL pollen too. But most of all I want to get this grow in gear so I can move on the the next grow, with my other fun strains....I'm thinking 2-3 weeks at most to flip....

Hope all is well with all of you!!

Nice work Quix.
Impressive mother you have there she looks very strong and healthy!

:bravo:

Hey GS thanks for the kind words friend, and :welcome:
There hasn't been a whole lot going on over here lately, but should get a little more interesting as the next few weeks progress....Stop in any time!

Well here was a nice ending to my weekend....This is the Durban Poison I've been waiting on....

That little root will be exploding with growth over the next few days, and I'm really hoping to see roots on the others soon as well, so that I can transplant, and initiate the dark cycle soon.

I was also surprised by this little guest in the grow room tonight....She's welcome to stay through the winter if she likes....

Good night all!

Now, that's a mom! Is that bubble cloner? If you want to keep your clones from yellowing out give 2ml of nute per gal, pH 5.5-5.8 should keep them green. Foliage feeding is tricky to get it to work right, can cause more harm than good. Roots will be bursting out soon.

Hey there 12 thanks for the advice! I do feed veg nutes at between 1/4 and 1/2 strength, after a week in the cloner...And yes my friend, that's a DIY bubble cloner. Best 30 dollars I ever spent! Although, for some reason I've had an incredible amount of dificulty with this run. I decided to do a test run of a product called MM2000 by GroTek, and on day 7 I had a serious case of red/brown sludge....I changed the res and cleaned the hell out of the tub, added a second bubble wall and within a week, with only some Superthrive and FF GB, I've now been cursed with some serious WHITE sludge. Happened over night too. I took those last pics of the root on the Durban Poison, and the next day all the netcups had this....

From what I've been able to find, it appears to be some sort of water mold?? Not alge or pythium, but some sort of mold spore that exsists in the tap water, and is sometimes more abundant than other times.

I treated the res with 1.5 pints of 3% H2O2, and immediately removed the Durban Poison and Widow clones, and gave them a 20 minute soaking in a bowl of H2o2. I then stripped their rockwool cubes off and put them straight into FF Happy frog soil. They look fine today so I'm hopeful. As for the remaining 5 SSH clones, The H2O2 doesn't seem to be putting a dent in the sludge, but they all still look OKish...I'll be watching for the strongest 2. The first to show the most new vegetative growth will get the same treatment as the first two.

Thanks again for the advice, and thanks for stopping in!:thumb:

Sounds good to me Quix your surely coming along brother hope you figure out the cloner problem

Thank you brother:Namaste: And things look to be coming along great in "Jabooty" too!!:high-five:

Hi Quix -

I agree with others - that's a really healthy looking Mother plant you have there! Hope you get the white sludge figured out soon... I've never seen anything like that!

Thanks Brother, She'll be getting the 12s here soon....Shame...She does seem to be hardy, but I do want to move on from this "Refugee" grow, lol. I hadn't planned on ANY of these plants...I really wish I had the room to keep moms, along with a 3 part "Clone, Veg, and Flower" grow....

Yeah this white shizzle is a drizzle my nizzle....Sorry, had brownies:high-five: Im feelin a little Snoopish....izzle....

I'll getter figured out though. I'm just glad my whole grow doesn't depend on the hydro part of all this, I'd really be screwed if it was a real system like yours! But then again I'd probably be using DM zone or the equivilant from BPN!
Hope you're feeling ok bro, see you around!

Clones don't need much; just water, air and time. Since yours are sitting in rockwool they'll root and grow out to search for more water, and will end up in the rez. Give or take should do it within 2 weeks. I'm also running a bubbler but the clones are sitting in the water (only the stem) and roots after 5 days. No need for MM2000 by GroTek or hormone or anything really. You'll get better results not using them.

Hey there boys n girls! I apologize for my absence lately, but I've been taking care of some seriously neglected affairs here on the home front....I'll have an update soon, things are looking good and will be flipping the lights this weekend. Hope all is well with all of you!:Namaste:

So here's what's been going on in the closet.

I initially was gifted several plants which I hadn't planned on growing, and made quite an effort to save them. The Durban Poison and CJ Widow were a couple crappy cuts taken from plants in the early stages of flower. I soon found that they were laiden with gnats, and instead of fighting the bugs, I decided to cut them, and re-veg them in the bubble cloner.....What a pain in the ass! I will never try that again. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but in reality, I could have just hit them with SNS 217 and been flowering by now.
I also took 5 SSH clones from my mother plant, who is definitely the runt and a slow grower. So needless to say, the clones of her were slow to grow roots too.
Finally, I ended up battling 2 different kinds of res issues. The first was the reddish-brown sludge, then some sort of water mold that looks like fresh white snot. I replenished the res after a good cleaning, for the first issue. Within a week I had the white shit. I treated with H2o2, but it only slowed the snot. (I think next time I run the cloner I'll treat with H2o2 from the get-go, as a preemptive measure....I never had this problem before....)
After a week, I decided to take the best 2 clones and put them into Happy Frog soil, along with the Widow and DP. The DP, the Widow, and one SSH clone started to finally show new growth and vigor. Last night I went in to pinch off the lower yelloing leaves on the SSH clone, and yanked her out of her soil lol...Eff her anyway, she was weak. So now I'm left with the slow growing SSH Mom, the CJ widow, and the DP. But they're growing, and it's time to flip

Without further adue, here are the flowerees the day before lights out......
