Quix's Corner - Puddle-o-Green - NL & Bag Seed - Indoor Soil Experiment

Re: Quix's Corner-"Puddle-o-Green"-NL&Bagseed Indoor Soil Experiment

Hey Q! Gotta run but I'd love that candy recipe too, sounds like a winner :tokin:

I'll get back to you and Quixilvir w/recipe of the hard candy, but I know she uses jello mix for the flavors and cannabutter, I'm sure there is hot water involved as well...

As many flavors as jello provides, the candy comes in handy anywhere you go...... I tried brownies once w/cannabutter, not real impressed... but w/this Colombian Gold I've been growing it makes excellent cannabutter cuz the Gold is so super sweet. My mouth actually waters when I smoke it, super sweet indeed...

Re: Quix's Corner-"Puddle-o-Green"-NL&Bagseed Indoor Soil Experiment

Hey all thanks for stopping by while I was out! Friday was my 4 year anniversary with the wifey, (not married leagally but might as well be lol) So we went out to dinner, then out to a favorite bar to see a friends band, then back to our friends house for more drinks and crashed at their place, didn't want to drive after drinking.

I wanted to transplant sooner, around the 2 week mark so the girls didnt get root bound. A few extra days didn't hurt though...Got to transplanting yesterday...

And the girls in their new home....
P5070008.JPG

They were treated to a cocktail of FFOF soil with the remaining Sunshine Advanced mix #4, and around 40% perlite. I watered to run off just a little, with 1/4 tsp Superthrive, 1/4 tsp Great white, 1/4 tblspn MagiCal, and 1/4 tsp Actinovate....They seem quite happy this morning, and I'm anxiously awaiting the next few weeks so I can verify sex. I also installed A.C. units in both upstairs bedroom windows. Both the plants, AND the wife and I are happy with the A.C.!! See you all again soon, I'll be making my rounds to your journals over the next day or so!:peacetwo::Hookah:

Congrats on the 4 year anniversary, and nice decision not to drive. Glad you, the wife, and the plants are enjoying the AC, looks like the repotting went well. Take care - X

Looking good Quix !:thumb:

I've been farting around....I have five to replant...very soon.

Sounds like the celebration was a good one' Congrats! :goodjob:

Hey OMM thanks my friend! I'm just dreading how far behind I am on yours and everyone elses' journals but I'll get caught up n I cant wait to see the 5 you transplant! See you soon!:peacetwo:

Nice roots brother! Looks like the transplant went smooth.

Moving right along...:goodjob:

Hey Dime thanks bro!! I thought the roots looked pretty healthy too, they were visible at the bottom of their little pots, and were SO white!, I knew it was timw to transplant when I saw that....I'll be by to catch up on the latest at your place soon, hope all is well!:peacetwo:

Shit Fader you just got MY mouth watering, JELLO!? Thats a great idea! Cant wait to get that recipe! I didn't know Columbian G. was so sweet, I've never had it. Between you and BlueDog, all the talk about it makes me think maybe I'd better add it to the wish list...:peacetwo:

Hey X thanks alot bro, its been a long 4 years lol! But that's relationships I guess...Only thing I dont like about the AC is it lowers the RH a bunch it seems...Colorado is already a pretty dry climate, and I dont feel like having to manipulate my environment anymore than I have to, (only out of laziness!)
Talk to ya soon!:peacetwo:

Sorry Fader I have to correct myself, BlueDog is running Accapulco Gold, not the Columbian....Still sounds like a something I would like to try though...

Quix, your plants are looking nice and healthy. Congrats on the celebration, my four year anniversary is in a couple months.

Thanks for the kind words my friend!! And congratulationd on a hard earned 4 years to you as well! I think 4 years is right about the time one starts to really get into a groove. You know eachother, all the little things that make the other tick. It's when you really start to appreciate eachother in my humble opinion, at least for me....There'll be plenty more ups and downs, but now you know how to get through them...Hope to see you around for the upcomingLSTing and so on, I just got caught up on a few journals, and I'm really behind on a few others including yours, but, I will be by and get caught up!!:peacetwo:

Thanks fader! That sounds like such a great idea to me and as stealthy as it gets... innocuous and small and potent :thumb:

Q I meant to comment the other day but I forgot, those roots look perfect :slide:

How's Ms. Droopy doing?

Hey Blue thanks for asking!!

She's no longer droopy!! I however, am! Had a couple cookies I made last night, Snickerdoodles to be exact....

Here's a few randoms of the girls, soil is still moist, so havent had a chance to start using the FF Grow Big yet, but soon enough. They seem to really love the FFOF soil they've been put in.

Hey Blue before I forget, didn't you say you thought your soil that you were germing in seemed pretty hot?? Was it the Sunshine Adv. Mix #4?.....

And the snickerdoodles....To all those considering cookies, these worked out great! Krustyz brand snickerdoodles....Simple and easy, fast, quickly made and the taste combo works great!! Just the right amount in each cookie if you make 36 cookies, give or take....

Re: Quix's Corner-"Puddle-o-Green"-NL&Bagseed Indoor Soil Experiment

Morning Q! I was worried that the soil might be the problem with my string of lost seeds, it's sunshine organic planting mix. However since they've sprouted they seem real happy so I don't know.

Speaking of happy your girls like great :thumb:

Take care my friend :peace:

Re: Quix's Corner-"Puddle-o-Green"-NL&Bagseed Indoor Soil Experiment

Girls are looking great Quix! You are making me hungry :yummy: with those sniker-doobies ;)

My girls loved the FFOF too, but my smaller girl had some signs of over-feeding (crispy tips) when she first went in... now I'm waiting for the sprouts in my new grow to get through the peat moss and hit the soil. I hope they like it!

Hey Blue thanks brother:thumb:, they really seem to like the FFOF, man they're just taking off!:slide:

I think I see a pattern with the Sunshine soil bro, it's either too hot or there's something else in it that sprouts dont like. I always germ in paper towels, inside something like a cassete tape case, or similar so the water doesnt evap too quickly, but allow some air in....Everything I've ever germed has grown just fine, including my last two that just mysteriously stopped after going into the SS soil. So note to self, and everyone else, dont start your seeds or seedlings in Sunshine soil...:peacetwo:

And yes, I did get THESE TWO to grow in the stuff, but I also think thats why they looked iffy for a week or so...I'll use FF from now on...:peacetwo:

Hey Dirty Money! ( Been savin that one lol ) Thanks my friend, I have heard that FF is a little hot too, seems a less ferted soil may be more appropriate for starting young ones, I dont have any crispy tips yet though:wood: Is the peat moss a new one for you or something you've done before? I think the sphag moss I mixed in with my soil last run contributed to PH changes that caused cal/mag def...:peacetwo:

Re: Quix's Corner-"Puddle-o-Green"-NL&Bagseed Indoor Soil Experiment

 Right now I hope to save some money with what's IN the dirty :)

The peat is a new one, had some Jiffy peat pellets so I broke them up and added them as a top coat.
The Jiffy-7 pellet is made from sphagnum peat from specially selected peat bogs. Lime and a special fertilizer with a low ammonium content are added to the peat in order to stimulate growth.

Seems to be working pretty good and my veggies are kicking butt in them.:thumb:

Aloha OMM!:surf: I looked at the Happy Frog, was right next to the Ocean Forest, but I couldnt tell what the difference was except for a few ingredients. The OF has the sea stuff, and the HF has moss or something? Do you know what the differences are and how they affect the plants? I'vealways wanted to know but was too lazy to look it up lol! Have you used the OF OMM? And if so what did you think of it? Thanks for stoppin in :peacetwo:

Hi Quix. :rasta:

I've used FFOF for 3 grows and part of number 4 and I slowly changed to Happy Frog. Had problems with FFOF burning my plants. Others and I came to the conclusion that it had nutes in it for more than 30 days. Think it lasts longer than that. First grow I used FF nutes and went by their schedule and burned my plants bad. End of their nutes for me. Happy Frog doesn't have the same nutes and is very forgiving if you over do things. This is no joke, Happy Frog grows plants that are more green than FFOF. When used with OC+, the only thing I ad is silicone Blast and a bit of gravity a month before harvest. I use RO water that is a perfect 7.0 pH which is neutral. I used to pH all my run offs. Now I just spot check the pH. It's almost always the same.
You do lose some of the micro critters that you get in FFOF, but in my case OC+ ads them for me.

You have probably realized that I'm a lazy grower and like to keep things simple. I usually have good harvests with a good yields. Most important I grow good smoke this way and I am not about to change things unless I have to. If it doesn't work with my indoor I'm starting soon, I'll change my ways and try to adapt. Hope this helps. :surf:

Good morning OMM, yes that does help! It's always a crap shoot I guess, when you're new to something....I was really debating on whether or not to feed with the FF Grow Big with their first watering, because I figured there'd be nutes in the soil for a while...But I did the impatient new guy thing and fed them any way:smokin2:....All I can say is I have to raise the lights again today!! It didnt burn them at all... It's only been a week since transplant into the FFOF, and they've taken off...I'll be more careful from now on, So thaat I DONT burn them, but these girls seem to have a pretty high tolerance for nutes...
I dont consider you a lazy grower at all OMM, I consider you a wise one. If it works, and works well, there's just no sense in changing things. I really wish this run would have featured the OC+, at least in one of the girls so I could do a side by side, but it'll have to wait till fall...
Any way, you decide on a name for the journal yet!? :peacetwo:
I think I'll definitely try the Happy Frog net time though

Re: Quix's Corner-"Puddle-o-Green"-NL&Bagseed Indoor Soil Experiment

First: Freedom Seeds has Jillybean in stock now....side note...they also are advertising "regular" Barney's seeds, something I've not seen in many months.

Next:Can't help much with the soil, I make my own with zero ferts, but sphagnam moss (peat) will tend toward acidity which is a good thing if you're using tap water, and it's been treated and made to an 8 PH or so. I use sphag in the mix, but I have AG lime in there too, for the calcium and some epsom salt for the Mg.....but I'm just gonna confuse you. FF is good stuff, I've had great sucess with their ferts for a few seasons now (but not everyone will agree with that either)
:MoreNutes:The plants are looking great ;) :MoreNutes:

Hey Chopper! :welcome:Thanks for stoppin in with the lead on the Jills!

And please, feel free to post great knowlege like that about the soil, even if you think it might confuse me, (it might) but humor me, I'll figure it out:tokin:
If I had the space to do it, i would make my own soil too. Just a brief stroll through DocBud's shit had me inspired to make my own, love the controll you get doin it that way....
Any way, dont be a stranger:peacetwo:
