Thanks for the reps buddy! Yeah i got the wife a vape for christmas cause she has bad allergies and what not and sometimes smoking bothers her and she loooooves it! As do i for that matter, my stash lasts easily 3 times longer using it. I can get high off of one whip 2 or 3 times, then when im done with it in there i save it for emergency supply and that gets ya ripped too!

Quix, I agree with Dime on the bubbles. The more, the merrier. I haven't cloned yet, but I know that all plants - especially fresh cuttings - love aerated water splashed on them. It's like a spa day for them, and they love it.

Speaking of vaporizers, that cheesy looking guy made a freaking brilliant video. Really good stuff, and I watched it thinking I wouldn't learn anything - but I learned a bunch. Now, I'm putting my learning to practice and it feels great! (Though it took me 35 minutes to type this post...)

BUBBLES BUBBLES BUBBLES! I got root rot like 2 weeks ago on two of my girls and went and got one of the commercial air pumps for my buckets and between that, some hygrozyme, and subculture b, my plants and their roots are looooving life! I effectively raised the amount of air they were getting by like 6x hahaha

Yeah its amazing how informative that goofy guy was! I havent saved up enough of the after vape goods to try to make food with but thats my next goal! Also Xlr8 great nug submission too, without really paying attention to who submitted what i was torn between two, the platinum and ur blueberry, i voted on the platinum but only after it was decided via coin toss, tails it was lol, great nug though!

Oh and Quix im gonna end my post with a little journal crash, Whoo! Happy BDAY to ME!!!! lol

Heres what I've attempted today.

This probably wont work, as I used plain tap water, and may not have enough aeration. But as a first test run, I dont mind learning the curve from the bottom up. This way, I'll know what NOT to do next time, and by proccess of elimination, I'll become the worlds best cloner!!

I got mine for free, but thats rare, and the sticker price is 99 bucks on this thing....well, thats the price on the box anyway, may have been marked up considerably ya know?...So 40n bones doesnt sound bad to me!!

Well, I know I shouldn't count my chickens before they hatch, as they say, But I came home this evening, to this.....

Much more even, and seem to be reaching for the "sun", still very vhealthy looking. If you look at the pics from last night you can see the difference....

I know I can expect to see roots at anywhere between 8-20 days or so, but my question is....

Is it typical for the first 24 hours to look really good, and all the bad shit is just around the corner?....Or can the health of the clones within the first 24 be of any help predicting their potential?

Hey Q as you know I'm having my cloning problems but I have successfully cloned about 20 plants.... in my experience cuttings will either continue to look more or less like they did when you took them until they root, or they'll start wilting and eventually die. Some slight drooping is ok.

You're probably imagining things as I've never seen them react to the light for at least 2 weeks or so, when they finally kick in and start growing again. Until then they just sit there and look exactly the same day after day.

There are a few things you can do that will help them a bit, like mist them or use humidity domes or cut the leaves in half - especially with big leaves like you've got.

I've had a great success rate with plugs, but it usually is a good 3-4 weeks for me before they have decent roots showing. These golds I'm waiting on to flower are in plugs, I took them 5 weeks ago and they're still a week or so away.

So just be patient and keep the plugs moist and you'll most likely be rewarded.... good luck!

I may have misunderstood what you meant by seeing them react to light, but I cant think of anything that would cause them to straighten and stretch like that except light....Sorry if I'm not trackin...

The thing is, I did cut the leaves in half, and I thought the point of that was to prevent them form losing so much humidity through "sweating", hence the lack of need for a dome?....

I'm using rockwool brother, what the heck are plugs?
And 3-5 weeks is typical for roots then?...Crap I'll never have time to flower these things!! Hopefully I'll have a buddy who can care for them then. After all, they'll be in soil by then so transportation should be fairly easy....

Hey Q that sure does look like they're reacting to the light but my guess is they were kind of wilting and look better from drinking water? Just I guess I dunno, like I said mine never react to the light that I can tell, you can move it and they won't track it.

For me usually if they're not gonna make it they just start going bad, they won't make it through the week.

I've never used a dome either, and most of my successful clones were smaller than the ones that you have and that I'm currently taking, and I rarely cut their leaves. But I am with these bigger cuttings. I was looking at your pics and saw some cut leaves and some uncut so I wasn't sure and threw it out there.

Plugs are just about the same as you've got, some kind of preformed sterile medium with a stem hole cut in the middle that you stick the cutting in. Mine are made of coco.

Maybe you'll get yours to root sooner, that's a nicer cloner than I used with the plugs. But for me yeah it usually takes a month or so.

Yessirie bob!! I guess mine's pretty similar, except mine has the didgital temp readout, and lights up a cool blue underneath, and in the element!!
I gotta tell ya though, I'm going to really regulate myself on how much I use it, this thing will stone you like a thief in biblical times!! Turns me into a bit of an ass too I think.... Hope that trigger finger doesn't give you too much trouble my friend, (I know its your middle finger but its the same thing as trigger finger right?) really hope things are well over there, see you soon!

Thanks Inda! But I'd be careful how much you "Learn" from me, I'm far from an expert on ANY of this! One thing you may learn though is what not to do, and I suppose that's valuable too lol....So far they seem to be doing well, but I wont forming any solid opinions about whether or no this is going to work, for at least a week. BlueDog enlightened me a bit last night, and I have no idea if this is actually working, or if it's just acting as temporary life support for the cuttings....

Im ready to do mine but i think i should hold of for a few days cause i think ive read that Nitrogen stunts rooting and you're supposed to flush some out first? Or is that just the case for hydro vs dirt?? If thats the case then i think i really need to flush my mothers first. Actually im thinking i should flush them anyway cause my one mother is starting to get pretty dark green. Any thoughts anyone?

Hey Jang, no brother I didnt flush first, in fact, they were slightly thirsty when I took them, not droopy, but not wet either. I've yet to do any real research on the subject, so I've never heard of flushing first, or the stuff about nitrogen...but I do know they like the higher humidity, and your 60% sounds great! Good luck with yours, and wish me luck on mine! I feel bad because I haven't been over to see what you have going on yet, but I will, just have to find the time....The only thing I worry about is alge, and I wont be going to buy any products in the near future to prevent it, If I cant do it like this, I probably wont do it....Paid a speeding ticket, and replaced the lcd in my girls laptop, totaling about 440 bucks this month so I'm broke. Anyway, I'll see you around bud, for now Im trying to find out what happened to Blu...
