Quix's Corner - Puddle-o-Green - NL & Bag Seed - Indoor Soil Experiment

Re: Quix's Corner-"Puddle-o-Green"-NL&Bagseed Indoor Soil Experiment

Hey Q congrats on the pistil sighting and all the cool swag :woohoo:

That's a lot of cool stuff, does that cloner look home made? You can buy velcro strips with adhesive if you don't want to fool with a zipper.

My vape heats up really quickly and I've been using it at much lower temps, but I don't know what temp that might be... about 1 o'clock on my dial. Some of these other guys will hopefully chime in, they've got lots more experience. I've seen them advertised for aroma therapy, so maybe that's like a room freshener?

:peace:

Re: Quix's Corner-"Puddle-o-Green"-NL&Bagseed Indoor Soil Experiment

Hay Horse, weird thing is bro, I went looking for post 1514, found it, but its on page 101...? That method is a bit simpler isn't it? I think its a little late to do it that way, as I've already started them going around the pots, but I'll definitely remember that method in the future. I wonder though, now that I've thought about it, what the difference in results are when comparing the two methods. I'm thinking that the way I'm doing it, may create more "main" colas out of the shoots, than the other way, as more of the real main stem has been trained horizontally?....Anyway, thank you again bud!:peacetwo:

Ha, same thing happens to me when I look for a specific post... you have to really want it!

I was only trying to show the tools Setting Sun uses and how he uses them, vs holes in buckets, wires, strings, cardboard protectors, etc. YMMV on the results :)

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAArrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!! .......................I'll explain later lol.............

Re: Quix's Corner-"Puddle-o-Green"-NL&Bagseed Indoor Soil Experiment

I hope the vape just got you baked and you ran out of snacks or somethin' ;).

Crosses fingers....:wood:

Lol, no brother, I just realized what a dork I am. I mean, I knew I would have to vent this stupid thing, but I went ahead and started an adventure I couldnt complete anyway!! You'll see in a minute......

Hey Blue, yes, the cloner is totally diy, and velcro is definitely on my list of things to get...should have grabbed some today with my 3 trips to home depot, and a trip to pet smart which is litterally next door to depot!!

I wont be using the big orange tub though, too big for my space and I really dont need 60 sites!! (at least not yet lol) so I got a smaller one...you'll see...

The vape DOES sa air freshener on the box, and I you tubed the brand, and they show you how to use it with a little diffuser thingy, but with the whip I really dont see how it would work as an air freshener lol....stay tuned for the latest bro hope all is well...

Wow! What a haul Quix !:cheertwo:

I need friends like that. As far as the vape goes....full blast! Guess that is how i got the nick name "Torch!" :high-five:

Note" Not too cool to LST in flower. :peace:
Hey OMM thanks for gettin back about the LST in flower, that clears up some confusion for me...

On the vape, I'm gunna run this sucker at the full 440 degrees tonight, and I'll bet it'll work fine. And then, I'm going to post the results, just for GP (general purposes) so that there's no arguement about it later lol....

Nice little haul you got from your friend!
The girls are looking lovely.:bravo:
Thanks Inda, they seem really happy, although one seems to be on sterroids while the other seems to be taking her sweet time. Thats a whole different issue I plan to address within the next week, wish me luck on that!!

It surely is a lot less work from the looks of it, thanks again bro....

Ok, so here's the latest debacle.....

1.) The big orange tote this guy used to make his cloner is way too large for my space, plus I dont need a 60 site cloner. Not a big deal. So for 5 bucks I got a 10 gal tote, and made my own....I pulled a "Blue" on my last hole (Sorry Blue!!!)...

% bucks later and another trip to the depot....
P5220003.JPG

All I used were these items
P5220001.JPG

It turned out well, then I added a small hole for the air hose. After a trip to the pet store for more hose,
P5220012.JPG

Next, I decided to make the wire rack shelving tent, half its size, just works better this way. Before...

After...
P5220015.JPG

Yeah I know, you cant really gauge the size in either pic, but the specs are 48x54 before, and now 48x27...
Any way, the panda will be easy to cut holes in for venting, but I dont have any small fans that aren't being used, and I didnt plan on buying any until I got this stuff. So Im basically just illprepaired is all. But it looks really cool in my closet!!
P5220018.JPG

My other dilema, was that after an hour or two, I noticed that the plastic bottom of the tote looked stressed
P5220013.JPG
P5220014.JPG

I figure the easiest temporary fix is to put this tote in the other tote from my first attempt lol, but I think I want to get a better quality tote....

Last is a question, do you think that this is enough bubbles? what Im using is called a bubble wall, not an airstone, learned that at the pet store today...

Oh and I also got this cool little bugger....I assume its for just one clone or seedling by the size of it, but the knob has 7 different settings. There are red, blue, and yellow leds, and each setting has its own set of color combos, if that makes sense, and the last setting is all three colors together...Its small, but bright....

Wait a minute Quix ! :)

Your friend just gave you allot of work !:smokin2: Well, actually you decided to fix em all. ;) Now!;)

440 degrees sounds good to me, fellow torch man. :cheertwo:

Don't blame poor Blue for the nice hole you made, I was doing it before Blue joined up. That's what is my first AirPot looked like! :yahoo:

That little light is for those hard to get at buds! :high-five:

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAArrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!! .......................I'll explain later lol.............

That's just about what I said with lots of profanity tossed in lol....after a quick check that I still had all my fingers :yahoo:

Hey! Actually that would have been one of my better cuts lmao!

You shoulda just done what I did and fixed them with duct tape, although I'm sure that will come back to bite me in the ass as well.

That looks like plenty of bubbles to me but honestly I have no idea any more, my cloner isn't working for shit.

Be real careful with the tubs, they tend to leak at the top and if it splits open you could have a major disaster on your hands. 420fied made a DIY cloner, you can search for his thread, and he took strips of panda film and glued them around the inside edges of the top to make flaps that keep the water from leaking out.... he's a clever dude.

:bravo:

Looking good Quix. :cheertwo:

I wouldn't worry too much about the tote rupturing, my RO res looks like a blue marshmallow with 20 gals of water sitting in it :). But... I don't really touch the lid too often and I'm not supporting any weight on top. Blue is right about the lids... If I was cloning or running a DWC in it, the added protection would be good just for the peace of mind!

As far as the air pump goes, maybe just pick up a $2.00 air stone and use that other side of the pump since it's already there and lonely :thumb:.

Good call Blue, I may just have to check him out, if I can find the time that is!

I think I'm going to double up the totes for now and see if the bottom one stresses. And yes, I did notice that it wants to leak at either end, the panda sounds good. I looked at home D on sunday for panda, but nobody there had any clue as to what it was, and I was unable to find it there. I'm sure my local hydro shop has it, just didnt have time to look there....I'm on my way to your new journal see you soon!

Hey DIME, I have another one of these bubble walls, and I have plenty of hose, just need another 90, or elbo fitting to attatch it to. Oh and Ill have to cut them both down by a couple inches(The bubble wall tubes that is) as the one in there only fits diagonally, no biggie. So you think I need more bubbles?.....

Hey quix, nice score on the free loot! I can't ever say no to free stuff lol. I actually have a vape that's very similar to that one, but i start mine at 320, and use it anywhere from 320 to 330. That's plenty hot enough, if u use it hotter than that ur green burns pretty quick. I usually let it warm up for about 5 min too. I love mine though, I find long slow drags work better too. And if u don't get anything the first drag or two don't turn the heat up right away, sometimes it just takes a drag or two to get goin. Can't wait to hear how it works!

Ok guys I just need to get this off my chest real quick....This month's MOM contest sucks! Too many great nominations. At least 3 of you are my buddys, and I wasn't going to vote. But then I figured, thats not right...I voted for XL, first of all because he deserves it, but also because he was the underdog. If DIME had been the underdog, I would have voted for him, and thats the truth. There was no easy way to pick this one, they both equally deserve both the nomination, and to win. So guys, I hope those who dont win this month get re-nominated because I know who my vote will be for!..........Ummmmm, yeah, note to self, easy on the new vape until you're familiar with it!!:Hookah:

So you think I need more bubbles?.....

The more the merrier! Plus you have the stuff already :thumb:
I was running two of those pumps and 4, 10" air stones and still wanted more  But as long as you have some air you're good to go.

Quix, all is well my friend :Namaste:

How I could I be upset that you voted for xlr8?:)... I love that guy!

I appreciate the kind thoughts, and that you shared them. It is tough to choose one person, plant or nug when there are so many connections to, and friendships with those members. I really think any vote is a good one and I'm just glad there are so many entries this month in all the categories.

I hope to see even more MOTM nominations in June, the contest should be easy to fill if we all give it a shot. :high-five:

Enjoy that vape my friend!

Hey thanks Quix! Feeling is mutual my friend. I really appreciate the kind words, and for what it's worth, I voted for Dime! So, I know what you mean, as it's tough sometimes - I had a hard time feeling like I was slighting GiantsFan. I'm really honored that you voted for me, underdog or not. It's just nice to be nominated and considered worthy in that group. :)

Wow guys, thanks for the kindness. I can use it at the moment! Just when I was getting really down about things, I come across these nice posts at Quix's corner. Truly a positive bump to my spirits!

Quix, I agree with Dime on the bubbles. The more, the merrier. I haven't cloned yet, but I know that all plants - especially fresh cuttings - love aerated water splashed on them. It's like a spa day for them, and they love it.

Speaking of vaporizers, that cheesy looking guy made a freaking brilliant video. Really good stuff, and I watched it thinking I wouldn't learn anything - but I learned a bunch. Now, I'm putting my learning to practice and it feels great! (Though it took me 35 minutes to type this post...) :bong:

Nice job on the tub, btw. I would have redone the lid, too. I'm never thinking of the simpler fixes like duct tape. Blue's pretty good at budget engineering. He could make a space shuttle out of duct tape, soda bottles, styrofoam cups and some 2x4's. :)

You guys rock for making me feel better!
