Quest for 1G/W: 1K HPS Liquid Cooled on a 6' Mover in a 4x8 Tent

Re: Quest for 1g/w: 1k hps liquid cooled on a 6' mover in a 4x8 tent.

I save the boxes my stuff comes in. Like my laptop, ballasts, fresca sols, reflectors, fans..... shit I've got a 2000 sq ft storage space full of my crap!

:nicethread:WheeloFortune it is great to see you up and at 'em again. Sorry I have not dropped in to say hello but I was Busted and wanted to say hello and wish you and all members well. I do have to say I am a bit of a hoarder also I have several buildings full of tools, equipment, and stuff for any job.

Re: Quest for 1g/w: 1k hps liquid cooled on a 6' mover in a 4x8 tent.

OMG too funny..

I buy mine straight from my hydro store, so that might be a little giveaway, lol

you guys watch the show "hoarders" ?

just keep it, forever, lol

lol.. scary stuff man.. :rofl::rofl:

ya, the only thing i hoarder is mason Jars full of weed

wish I could.. I get a jar,, and next thing I know it's empty :ganjamon::bong::bigtoke:

as for personal hoarding,,, some say hoarding, some say opportunistic recycler... hehe (although my wife tries to throw away everything she can... constant battle)

when I ccleaned out my closet in my bedroom to setup my first plant,, (just a short while ago) I found stacks of PC Magazine from the 90's....

man it was funny to see a 486 advertised for 2k...

Re: Quest for 1g/w: 1k hps liquid cooled on a 6' mover in a 4x8 tent.

well i got it all setup up but seems like the pump isnt draining back to the res. from the controller bucket for some reason. is it not suppose to drain back in the "drain cycle" every single time back to the reservoir till the controller bucket empties or am i mistaken.?

i got a good deal on this ebb & gro and was beginning to wonder if it is not a refurb for 425$ shipped seemed like a steal.

man my plants look stretched to hell got a little neglected but they seem to be ok i guess. ph at 5.8 and ec at 1.0 for the moment.

Re: Quest for 1g/w: 1k hps liquid cooled on a 6' mover in a 4x8 tent.

@ Kamikaze

yeah, there are two pumps, one fill and one drain. both are plugged into the appropriately labled outlets on the side of the timer.

check the pump by plugging it into the wall and see if it turns on. if it does, you might want to plug in something else to the drain outlet on the timer, like a lamp, and see if the light goes on when its not on a fill cycle.

but yeah your right that it should empty as soon as the fill cycle is over.

@wingman

glad that your ok for the moment bro, I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for your case. seems like bullshit to me. Unfortunately the world is not fair, and the rules don't always make sense, and when you have conflicting laws at different levels, it gets even more fucked up.

I hope you end up being part of the solution, instead of just another statistic of this morally unethical drug war that we wage on ourselves, with our own tax dollars, when tax dollars are needed for other, actually important, shit now more than ever.

I'm coming through with an update and some pics here in a few minutes, just have to crop and resize. be back in a few with some pics.

Re: Quest for 1g/w: 1k hps liquid cooled on a 6' mover in a 4x8 tent.

Ok guys, here we go again. . .

my bitches have made it to DAY 28 FLOWER. . . out of 56 days give or take.

These are the biggest plants I have ever grown. First time i have used a 1kw hps through an entire grow, and the longest veg period since my early scorgging days pre-420mag edumacation. I am excited to see how large my colas will get. I am expecting my largest ever if these girls hold up for me.

I need to do a res change tonight. My res pH starts out high because my tap is high. my doser doses it down to about 5.6 and it will slowly rise for a few days. this is the same as what was happening in veg, but in veg after 3-4 days it would stabilize and just sit there steady. For the past couple of weeks now though, after 3-4 days my res starts to take a nose dive. I do have pH up, so i pop it up to 5.7-5.8 but after a day or two I have to do it again. Why is this happening??? i have a reason why i think it's hapening but i would like to hear any suggestions without any influence from me so i'll tell you what i think after a few people have said something.

Also, after topping off, it seems like the EC is dropping the slightest bit.

Also the burn on some of the big fans on top got a bit worse but I think it has stopped spreading. Another flush tonight and a new res should make them happy. If they get too burnt I'll just pull them and let in a bit more penetration, but i am trying my best to keep the fans happy. . . This is something I always find hard to do for one reason or another, and ends up hurting my yield in the end, frustrating to say the least. . . I pulled the worst one off to take a good pic to show you the worst of it. As always i like to emphasize what I do wrong as much as what I do right, because growing is just as much about what not to do as it is what to do.

anyways. . . HEY STINKY still white! seems like the hydroton aggregate bottom layer is doing its job satisfactorily.

Re: Quest for 1g/w: 1k hps liquid cooled on a 6' mover in a 4x8 tent.

Generally the only time you need pH Up is when you've got microbial life going on in your reservoir. Especially during flowering. The plants consume the nutrients that lower the pH. That's why the pH drifts up.

here are a few of the canopy, you can see some burn.

thanks tor, knew you'd chime in with the quickness. . . (and confirm my own suspicion)

solution is? . . . flush with H2O2?

Re: Quest for 1g/w: 1k hps liquid cooled on a 6' mover in a 4x8 tent.

i'll just take a new guess at my fan problem. . . instead of nute burn.

I have had to add pH up to correct pH, and that adds sodium. sodium can lock out potassium causing deficiency. this does look like potassium deficiency to me. . . how bout it guys?

see how one problem can chain link other problems with it?

Re: Quest for 1g/w: 1k hps liquid cooled on a 6' mover in a 4x8 tent.

Even with the nute burn, those plants look good!

thanks bro, so far the flowers are not being affected by the fan problem, so I probably have time to fix it without much hindrance.

Would be my weapon of choice.

Makes sense to me. Can't remember the exact range at which K is available off the top of my head but if your recent nose-dive exceeded it then you'd be the victim of a double-(K-)whammy because the recovery tool would have as you mentioned caused more of the same.

Kill the nasties and you should be golden again.

Re: Quest for 1g/w: 1k hps liquid cooled on a 6' mover in a 4x8 tent.

thanks tor,

Insta-replies much appreciated!!

I will have to get some H2O2 tomorrow, ran out a few weeks ago on a cut. lol.
I am changing the res to flush mode as we speak.

Re: Quest for 1g/w: 1k hps liquid cooled on a 6' mover in a 4x8 tent.

i think the pump is working good now the controller seems to be draining hope it stays that way.

yea i had the same thing happen to my leaves like in your pic there i learned just not to even use ph up unless absolutely necessary. i dose ph up the first time and thats it..
if it rises i will trickle 5-10ml at a time till im down to the 5.6.

lil tricky to do with this big ass 55gal drum here tho` hope i dont experience it again.

i will upload some pics of my setup here soon i plugged off 2 ports on the controller due to my no space 5x5 tent.

Re: Quest for 1g/w: 1k hps liquid cooled on a 6' mover in a 4x8 tent.

Could be potassium but there's more veins present in this problem and the necrosis is more yellow brown or green brown. Yours seems to be more brown-brown

Could be a phosphorous deficiency. Smaller sweet spot - so more sensitive to being out of range?

See figure 14

See the Phosphorus write up

Here's the nutrient absorption range chart I like the most
