Thanks 12. My bday was nice. And am still blown away by the nomination. To be chosen is an honor to me.

re: QT's Second Grow - 1st Journal

congrats queen :) i wish you good luck on the contest ^^

Thanks Kamy......Just wanted to take a moment to rant about my ladies. I am truly blown away by the progress of this grow. Especially for it to be bagseed.. Now the ones who were here with my first grow can surely tell the difference. Even before I got the hps light, you could tell the difference but now with the light, its like OMFG. I had just lowered the light the other day, now I am going to have to raise it. Plant 1 is just growing outta control, bushing out and growing up, it is almost touching the light. Plant 2 and 3 is much behind plant 1.

I have been told to expect a lot of stretching. I am still on my first week of flower, just 4 days in to be exact. If they're doing this now, I am wondering what its gonna be like after the stretch. I think when lights come on, I will measure them and take pics of the tops of plants so you can see what I am talking about. Last night, I gave them some molasses. I hope I am able to do that with coco. If I need to flush please let me know. Did I mention that I have taken 3 clones? 1 from each plant, as of last night they seem to be doing ok. I have the heating pad under them but its the kind that after so long it shuts itself off. Will this cause any problems with rooting?

you need a pad that stays on..won't cause any problems..some growers don't use them...all a pad does is speed up rooting...never used Coco..so i don't know what Molas will do..about the stretching...my plants are flowering and still have LST going on..Good luck on your clones..hope you got lots of gifts on your B D...

re: QT's Second Grow - 1st Journal

Heyah...love....wow that bday banner that Astonr made...AWESOME...very very nice...anyways...the molasses will be fine.....just not everytime.....And the heating pad will be perfect for the amount of cloning time anyways...it's short... And it sounds like it also won't over heat the girls.....Word

Whats good QTL!!!

I feel ya on this!!! I have been in flower for her full first week now, and GDP has not really done much of a stretch just yet, since the start of flower I have maybe 4 inches of growth!!! BUT... also I just checked in on my pH and it is at 6 - 5.8 range!!! NOT GOOD!!!

let's see what happens!!!

re: QT's Second Grow - 1st Journal

Astonr my brotha whats even gooder?... Ha...still here....it's good to see some of our class mates of our orientation....queen...you... Me.....what happened to the Dizzle?....of well...sorry queen off topic....:peace:

re: QT's Second Grow - 1st Journal

Good to see you Vince. Cool, glad the molasses won't mess anything up. Just wanted to give them that burst of sugar I guess. Ok who is Dizzle? Lou Weed? Suckafree? I was kinda wondering where they were.

Aston--What I was saying is that they were already doing quite well with the cfls but since they got the hps now, its like they took off. My bf asked me if I was alright because I was just sitting there staring at them...lol..And I have been known to talk to them from time to time too. Tell me what you think about the pics.

The plants must stay thirsty, checked again and they were dry again and I just gave them the molasses last night. I gave them some distilled water when lights came on. As for the clones, I have a question...how long do I keep them inside their domes? And how long with the heating pad? Lil buzzed and forgot to measure the ladies...will do it later as a mini update....Cooking a beef roast with cabbage with bacon in it...mmmmm mmmmmm..So good it will make you slap ya mama, if not your mama then somebody else's mama...lol....On to the pics...Oh and will these turn out to be colas?

And I just measured them...they are 25, 26, and 27 inches already...Been told that could double...so could they possibly get to 4 feet? That would be awesome!!!!

re: QT's Second Grow - 1st Journal

I have been lurking in the shadows of your journal QTL! I think you have the possibility of them getting to be four feet if you let them! just make sure you dont run out of space in the end!

everything looks good though!

good luck QTL!

re: QT's Second Grow - 1st Journal

the dome and pad stay till you have confirmed roots,in coco its best to water every day or more as needed you dont want coco to dry out it will cause ph fluctuations:peace::high-five:
some strains triple or more in the stretch !!

Ok Irish thanks for letting me know that. I see some people usually have roots in 4-5 days so I will start looking about then. But is it ok to water everyday? I mean wouldn't the water just sit at the bottom or will the coco suck it back up or will the roots come down to where the water is? I don't eve have a meter right now to check ph. I had the chemical kind of testing where you match the color up with the chart. I am wanting a digital one, hopefully will be able to get it next month. Any suggestions from anyone what meter is a good buy?

re: QT's Second Grow - 1st Journal

Can you increase the distance between your light to plant...got room to tie down...i would be doing some measuring...

Yes, I can increase the distance. I started out having the light 18 inches above the plants but then I had lowered it to 10. I placed my hand on the top of the plant to see if I could feel the heat from the light. I felt heat but not enough to burn me so I figure the plants are not getting burned. That's the problem really, I don't have enough room to tie down anymore. When I do they end up getting caught in each others branches. So the ones not tied down I have just been letting grow up.

Shotta--No need to lurk just jump on in. Man, if they get to be 4 ft tall, I am going to lose it. Not in a bad way, just will be taking pictures like crazy. They have enough room to grow going up just not out or they get tangled up in each other's branches. I was wondering if maybe I should trim back some of the fan leaves. I have read where some people do it on the 21st day of flower but do I really have to wait that long?

be careful they are in flower mode now, so they will start to stretch faster!!! you will have to raise them every day if not twice a day!!!

re: QT's Second Grow - 1st Journal

you cant over water with coco the very nature of it prevents that from happening, and watering often actually draws more oxygen in to the coco, growers often will run a drip 24/7 ,i have tried to over water a plant to see if its possible and i could not even in 100% coco, ph is uber important, i thought you had one! that has got to be your next purchase very soon!!:Namaste:, i got a yellow generic digital for under 20 on the bay, eventually i'll get a better one, but it works and is pretty accurate, coco needs to be at 5.8 or as close to that as possible, to avoid lockout of certain nutes:high-five:

Just thought that if I gave the coco too much water and if water settled to the bottom of pot that too much moisture could make the plants droop or cause some type of root rot. But you have been dealing with coco longer than me so I will follow your advice. Nah, I had the cheap ph meter where you have to match the color to the chart. I had been looking on the bay for meters though, it's a little confusing cause I see meters that has to do with aquariums, are those the ones to use or the ones with the prong that you put into the dirt...or a pic of the one you use could help too. When I last checked or when I first got coco I did a ph reading and it read at 7. So then I gave baking soda to lower it but since then I could not check it again to see if it leveled off.
