QT's Second Grow - 1st Journal

re: QT's Second Grow - 1st Journal

QTL, wass-happ-ennn-ingggg?!!!

Hey Corey!!! About time you brought your behind to my journal!!! Thanks for the add on FB too btw. Things with the ladies seem to be going very well thanks to your nutes, man. This has been one amazing grow so far just to only be my second grow. I am convinced that your nutes played a big part in that.

Irish--Oh that's cool, glad you got that taken care of. I know I can't wait to see how my girl blow up after I put that light on them. I will be taking plenty of pics too.

re: QT's Second Grow - 1st Journal

Hey girl, guess I missed the part where you explained what HPS light you are getting? Sorry...please don't shoot me :sorry::surrender:

What size wattage did you go with? What's the skinny on that light? so I don't have to go back 31 pages to find out...I'm a pretty busy man you know?...lol

re: QT's Second Grow - 1st Journal

Think there is room on the bus for one more? ;)

Oh please, lady you are more than welcome to chill here. I welcome another female by all means. I have checked out your journal from time to time too.

Warrior--It is a 400 watt hps/mh light I got from ledwholesalers...I will take pics when it comes because I don't think we can post links from other sites, right? Trying my best to remember and follow the rules. But let me pull up the details for you....

This 400W hydroponics lighting system represents the best value grow light. The 400 watt advanced electronic ballast supports both High Pressure Sodium (HPS) and Metal Halide (MH) bulbs, giving the grower the flexibility to choose the best selection of light simply by changing the bulb, instead of having to own two separate light systems. MH is used for accelerated vegetative growth, then switch to HPS to encourage flowering, fruiting and budding.

Features

400W
Works with both High Pressure Sodium (HPS) and Metal Halide (MH) bulbs
Automatically detects type of bulb installed and adjusts itself accordingly
9-foot lamp cord
8-foot power cord
UL-listed, CE certified
Two-year manufacturer warranty on ballast
Discreet packaging

Advantages

Fast startup - reaches full brightness in less than 1/4 the time of most magnetic ballasts.
Completely silent - no more humming and buzzing.
Small, compact design - most electronic models weigh less than 10 pounds compared to 44 pounds for magnetic ballasts.
Longer bulb life - lumen output loss over time is dramatically less than with magnetic ballasts.
Electronic ballasts can light both MH and HPS lamps.
More lumen output - up to 20% more lumen output than regular ballasts.
Heat sink technology - no fans to break down and make noise; fan-cooled ballasts have a high failure rate.

Lights come on in another 15 minutes or so. I will take pics of them now before they start flower. I will also take a pic of my closet so you can see what I am working with. I have plenty of room for them to grow up but not so much growing out. If I could move my suitcase out there prolly would have better room. Think I am gonna do that. Don't know why I didn't think of it before....

re: QT's Second Grow - 1st Journal

Ok, here is the latest on the sprouts...Room temp is currently at 71 and humidity is at 71 as well. Just checked to make sure that the coco is still moist, not really much else to do. I did take some pics for your viewing pleasure...

I think if they are a sponsor it's ok to link to but I think non-sponsors aren't supposed to be. I'm pretty sure that's right?

Good deal on the light though, it looks like it supports both a MH and a HPS bulb...very cool! :goodjob:

You do want that HPS in it for flowering though, you need that red spectrum from that HPS during flower and the blue from the MH for vegging...cool? ;)

I think I read earlier that you weren't quite sure about that...hope this helps :cheertwo:

re: QT's Second Grow - 1st Journal

Irish--Well, I am definitely checking in when Spiffy gets started on her journal. You're gonna do something for me in your next journal? About cloning? Yes, I am super excited about the girls starting flowering. I am trying to imagine how they will be once they feel that hps light. Wondering how different my yield is going to be. If I can get over an ounce on each one I would be happy. I am not trying to be greedy just want it to be better than the first grow. Which I already think it will be.

Warrior- Yes it does support both and comes with both bulbs. Thanks for solving that foe me, I got it now..hps=flowering and mh= vegging

Miss Bud--Yes, space is an issue for me because I want to try so many things. I would like to reveg plant 1 and make some clones from her. But once my lemon skunk and big bang matures I would like to keep them since they are the first good strains I have ever grown..I am finding out I am very sentimental about my plants.

re: QT's Second Grow - 1st Journal

looks great queen! how is your closet vented? and do you think it will be enough to keep up with the new toy your getting? I am running two 400mhs and have a 160 cfm 4 inch extraction fan and I had to remove the carbon filter to get more air flow to keep temps down yesterday. environment is always something to think about.:goodjob:

Good deal then, I though I caught that part right :thumb:

All that news article reading just turns everything I read into be one big blur after a while...LOL

Not that I don't just love doing it though...maybe I just need glasses? IDK?...LOL

Those girls are looking SO sweet!!! You get +420 Reps from me to you girl!!!--->:bravo::welldone::goodjob::cheertwo:

:Namaste:

re: QT's Second Grow - 1st Journal

QTL!!!

I just noticed that nobody rated your journal, and like I said, you have came a long way since your first journal!!! So I rated it!!!

:peacetwo: sista!!!

re: QT's Second Grow - 1st Journal

Ok, let me answer everyone here....Miwa, that was a typo on my part. That was the temp for the sprouts not the ladies. The humidity was at 43.....Warrior and OMM, thanks for the +reps but I still have two little squares, do you have to get so many in order to get a rep? I still don't know how that works. And Aston, thanks for the rating of my journal. I hope others will rate it too, both of them...GG, well that was something I was thinking about. I do have a large fan that gives you the choice of intake and exhaust. I am hoping that will work. You can look in my journal or gallery for pic of the light. I had asked a question before in journal about using the fan but no one answered me. It is a rather large fan so I am thinking it will be able to handle the heat..

So here it is, it has finally arrived...the hps/mh 400w light...I gotta wait til lights come on to install it. Will take more pics once we have the light set up...It's on now......well the light isn't on yet but now it's on when it comes to flowering....lol
