Psychoactive Mushrooms & Cacti Discussion

Anytime! :thumb: @imtoasted

Update on the Tasmanian.. she is doing JUST fine and growing vigorously. I just shook up the out of nowhere spores coming off of there 3rd squirt of TAZ as well. I have tiny spots in a few locations, but not enough to really show through glass. I'll take a pic of that jar in a few days when it has recovered longer. Won't be long now. Happy Friday to ALL!

I have a slow jar that has been squirted twice with Golden Teacher(nothing) and once with TAZ and it started to grow in one TINY spot only. I let it grow out for a few days and shook it up to inoculate more grains. I'll have to do it twice, good viable syringes you shake up once so it's NOT what you would normally Do. These syringes were bought in March of 17 so very few viable spores left in the solution, but the Taz is definitely Alive! :volcano-smiley:

I just figured the more spawn you have the better but sounds like you have plenty lol. The heat definitely killed off the mycelium in those two jars.. what will you use as your heating source now?

I was thinking of using an aquarium heater and put my bags in the big tote i want to use with a jug of water for the heater to heat the water which will also heat up the tote. I saw someone incubate regular mushroom spawn that way and it worked very well for him.

Oh tht sounds like an intersting idea nice hope it works out 4 ya man. An as for my new heating source its still a heating pad only this one has different temp settings n the middle setting has it sit at 75°f to 79°f so jus about perfect id think. But yea idk if my first run at doing grains worked out lol. The lids had a bunch of moisture under the tinfoil so idk if thts gud r not but here look at it. I think its to soggy but i did 2 jars of my f+ spores jus 2 see if it works n if nt then it wnt be 2 much wasted lol.

This is after pc the jars.

The grains do look a bit dark have no idea if that is bad or not.. wondered if the water would just steam up under the tin foil on top of lids. Maybe the foil wasn't tight enough around the lids. Good to know about the heating mat.. was gonna use a seedling heating mat but it might get too hot.

Don't freak out after the shake or massage, The WHITE will return within a day, usually less than a day I can see them bouncing back to growing fuzzy again. In my situation, I have to sacrifice a day of growth to spread the spores to more seeds faster than it would in one spot on it's own. The things I am doing aren't what you will be doing in normal conditions. I will always clarify since I want to help and not confuse anyone at the same time with what I am currently doing with old spores for the sake of experimenting, and what you would be doing on a consistent basis. I honestly didn't think they would take to bird seed with 2 prior failed attempts with 2 different syringes(Cambodian,Amazon) on 14 quarts of birdseed so you can see why I didn't do that AGAIN(waste of time). I figured this time one jar of each syringe and not fail on 21 quarts of bird seed and wait to do some AGAR work for the experience.

I'm on the hunt for some iso this morning, I'm completely out. I need to do agar transfers and get my tubs ready for spawning tomorrow. I may end up at the liquor store for some 'clear. :laughtwo:

I'm tossing my 2 failed bags, I'll take some photos and post when I do so you all know what to look out for. I will also take a photo of something that is completely normal, metabolites aka mycelium piss. My one bag of Treasure Coast has some piss spots on the mycelium.

I'm technically in the country but less than 1/8 mile in any direction I can be in 3 different city limits. I have a half acre lot on a small cul de sac and I'm within a 5 min drive of anything I need. Not exactly the country living I grew up with in MN where we have about 1,000 acres to run around on the farm but it's better than living in a development in the city. I wish I had a 5 acre lot but unless you want to be in the open desert it will cost you your first born where I'm at.
