So ok i boiled my grains last night then noticed it said if i wanted to use liquids on the rtv sealant i used for my lidsit said sit over night. So i let the grains sit over night as well on a towel an im wondering now do i need to do anything like re boil the grains or put gypsum on the grains or anything b4 i put them into the jars an pc the jars?

Get those grains PC'd for at least 90 minutes, (120 is Safer, I go 100 minutes for WBS) ASAP. The Oats will usually take on a little more hydration without bursting from the sterilization process. Don't start the timer until you get to 15psi, usually the weights start a rockin' you are there. Get Ur Done! :laughtwo:

I throw gypsum in my simmer water(WBS), but the sprinkle for Oats sounds like a WINNER to me. Crack a few oats and check the innards.

Ok so i checkd the oats an it looks like this

Its soft an squishy but not really mushy persay so i think its ready right? An about how much gypsum u think ishud use or jus give em alight coating so they r covered but not caked on there sumthn like tht?

Also with my grain jar lids once i put the pollyfill in do i put a piece of clear tape or sumthn over the pollyfill port or do i jus leave the pollyfill sticking out?

A light dusting of gypsum helps them from sticking to one another. No need to reboil if you're grains are fully hydrated from the day before. Jar them up and PC them, no need to presteam the jars. Like @JohnnieJC3 said don't start your timer until you hit 15 psi and do not drop psi until the time has passed. If you drop below you have to start the time over again.

Ok so wen u say a light dusting do u mean cover them all or jus sprinkle alil over the top of the pile?

I Love your Avatar , Its So fitting for this thread

You have to bite into it. There should be little to no white center to it, like cooking a pasta noodle I mentioned before.

Ok yea thts exactly like what i got its soft an kinda squishy like a noodle but not mushy an its like a clearish brown not really white
