Psychoactive Mushrooms & Cacti Discussion

I did notice one issue, those syringes are 28 gauge, I want to say most syringes are 14 or 16 gauge with a 1.5" needle. I think 16 is the most widely used. I don't think those will work, but I'm not positive.

Yea my grandmother had an xtra box for insalin so offerd them 2 me so figured id ask lol.

So i was wondering how do i sterilize my whole oat grains?

Getting all setup now.
Oh yea buddy lol. I got my organic dry malt extract from the zon the petri dishes n my erlenmeyer flasks now jus need the agar - agar then ill be in business. But first im guna make my jars an sterilize some grains right now but needed to figure out how 2 sterilize them like what time n temps an what not lol.

Should be loads of info on YouTube
Lol i jus popped on there 2 check it out hahaha. Got a big night ahead of myself sterilizing grains an gotta harvest 4 plants but will prolly only get 2 down idk if i got room right now for more then tht lol

We run out of space fast. Lol

Lol for real i been triming dwn buds all day an making rosin. I was thinking about getting my substrate ready in the nex day or 2 here once i get alil free time lol. Check the new pipes i ended up getting. Needed a bowl piece tht didnt roll an flip over when i was tryn to pack it or drip some rosin on a bowl my old one wud always spin on me n i wid get tht shit everywhere hahaha. But yea these r the new ones. The red one kinda even looks like a sorta lol.

Then here is my blue one. At the store i liked them both so much tht i kept tryn to look for sumthn wrong or tht i didnt like on one of them so i cud make up my mind. But i cudnt find anything n cudnt make up my mind so jus went ahead an got both lmao.

Nice bowls lol

Thanx much appreciated.

So can sum1 jus clarify sumthn for me cause all the videos i been watchn start with the grains all ready in a jar or bag. So is there anything i gotta do to them b4 i put them in my jar like i dnt gotta soak em in water or dump boiling water on them or sumthn like tht b4 hand do i? Or can i jus open the bag of fresh grains an put them in my jars?

So are these holse big enuf u think for my jars the self healing ports n vent hole for air exchange.

Also i added the 1st squirts of spores to these jars on 9-20 but let it get to hot so then added more on 9-29 but they only look like this so i was wondering did i ruin them ?
This is jar #2 i think this one is no gud for sure.

Then here we got jar#1 is doing gud i think jus slowly but did kill a few spores at first also gave another shot on 9-29 so think it will be ok or no?

I have two small cabinets right above my fridge, the temp stays right at 77-79 degrees with the house at 75 or 76, works perfect for colonization. Those holes are fine for exchange and injection port. When I first started out, I used high temp RTV(I work on my own cars so I already had some) and Tyvek Envelopes(free), it worked, but it was kind of messy and UGLY. Not that it mattered, it did the job. It doesn't look like much is going on in that jar, you should be further along in the process and it looks to be spotty. Mycelium is BRIGHT fuzzy white and once it gets going it will rip through those seeds pretty fast. Let it go for a little longer for the sake of testing, I tossed one of my test jars, and now I have the other jar showing signs of life out of nowhere. I am working with old spores though so a little different situation. I had already written these syringes off so it's ALL bonus for me. There is an Oat tech where he boils(NO soak) the oats to get them gel/soft in the middle where they are no longer white(starchy) and dry the oats then to the PC.

So the GT jar was shot with GT twice(nothing), and TAZ once, I'm betting they're TAZ spores not that it matters. Just popped up out of nowhere less than 2 days ago. Since it's one spot only, I'll let it grow a little, then shake it up to spread the mycelium faster. They recover in about a Day from the shake. This jar will need 2 shakes as well since a small patch of growth only.

The TAZ jar that is doing well was shaken twice, ONLY because there were very few inoculation spots of growth, otherwise, Once is fine. Once they get to this point, it won't be long before it's fully colonized.

I must have missed a notification at some point, I've missed a day or 2 here.

For oats there is one of 2 ways, either cook them or soak them. So far I have been soaking mine and honestly hate the process. It takes about 2 days worth of prep between soaking them in water overnight and then drying out for another day before bagging/jarring and PCing. The other TEK is what @JohnnieJC3 mentioned where you boil the oats and check every few minutes by biting into the oat and checking if it is hydrated all the way through, like a pasta noodle but you don't want al dente with your oats, you also do not want to over hydrate. Then you strain them, bag 'em, and PC 'em.

I never got around to mixing substrate on Monday or yet this week. I think tomorrow I will get the substrate ready for my first round of grains that are anywhere from 80-97% colonized now. My second round of grains I inoculated are showing signs of mycelium growth, about a 50 cent piece in size. I will have to throw out 2lbs of grains due to yeast contamination. I noticed one bag looking kind of wet and slimy in a spot, then I saw a teeny, tiny tear in the filter patch. I smelt by the patch and sure shit it smells like fermenting grains. A few days later the grains are dark and wet and I noticed a second bag with the same looking grains. It also had a small hole in the filter patch. I'll take pictures and post them before I toss them so you can all have an idea what I'm talking about.

Well guys, I'm going to AIR out my dirty laundry(sort of, I talk about things that some won't... it's who I am),., yeah I know it's not my BLOG or anything, but I have to say good-bye to Outdoor growing unfortunately. I went to grab another one of my plants today and the last 3 are RIPPED(big one, medium/small and a smallie). Between the worms, the BORERS, and the RIPPERS, it's DONE. I've been transitioning anyway to FULL indoor and I just upgraded my old 2x2 that was falling apart at the seams(along with the 2x4 same brand tent) to a 2x4x5 for the closet setup, and I'm getting a Gorilla 2x4x almost 7 feet so the transition is happening NOW. I've experienced problems in the past, ONE year my brother used my sprayer without me knowing(ROUNDUP  ) and it had some residual chemicals in there and pretty much TORCHED my grow. We figured it out when we went camping and talked about it SO yeah... BUT this was the final straw that BROKE the camels back. Don't get me wrong now, OUTDOOR has been good to me(OVERALL) and I don't want to seem or feel UNgrateful... it's IS an unpredictable environment and honestly... I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner. I did get 3 BIG ones and some decent Hash out of the 4th so it's no a complete LOSS. The spot is compromised and ITS how it is. Glass half full... I like the Vivosun 2x4 tent... for as cheap as it is.... very nice zippers and quality and a viewing window with the Intake port(s) lower which I always felt the old tents port was too HIGH. Ok... <rant off> BUT I will miss the Outdoor season next year when in comes BACK around and I'm not dropping plants in the ground. On to new endeavors Indoor... Vaya Con Dios Sunshine Flowers. 😢

I'm very fortunate to have grown in this location for as long as I did to be honest. I was hurt, but also a sense of relief that it's OVER and I'm moving on. I'm a move forward person and I have left old friends in my wake for ONE reason or another... unfortunately it IS the cold side of my personality that I am able to CUT bait and move on and NOT look back. It's not intentional, and I didn't realize until fairly recently that I AM a grudge holder and I always thought I wasn't. Anyway, enough about me... you know what MAKES me feel better? Poppin' some SEEDS. I have 16 square feet (2 2x4's) so LETs focus on what I Do have and NOT what I Don't! :Namaste:
