Prof's Lab: Diary Of A Bedroom Farmer

I have also just finished this....

A sneak peak at tomorrows Barneys thread update. I can't be bothered to do it now.

Sorry for killing your plants (again)
:passitleft:

It is time for a veg tent update as its getting confusing and cramped in there lol....

First up I forgot to take any pics of the Caramelo's that popped up the other day....
DSC01232.JPG

They're small and need some more light. For the moment they are happy and will have to sit tight for a little while longer....

The experimental clones are still alive and although you can't see it properly in the pics I think that the one in the dark jar is doing better than the other 2. It has drank about a centimetre of water already so we are doing something right. The other 2 are still going as well and I will try and clean them up a little soon....

The mothers are in need of another trim but I had intended on letting them veg until they are put into flower next week. The Fat Purple seems to be growing the best at the moment even outdoing the Tropicanna Banana though I think that the TB will explode once it has been flipped to 12/12.

Somehow I have to fit another 8 plants in here shortly lol. We'll work it out.
And there is the epitaph for your gravestone "it was full but he worked it out". Lol
. it doesn't matter how long it takes me to catch up here , I can nearly always guarantee that anytime I come here your popping new seeds. How hell are you squeezing so much in to a grow that is minute to your previous ones , yet I am reducing them and still dont match your yield . Its bloody Satans work.!!. We even went as far as a scamdemic and lockdown to try to slow you down . RIGHT EVERYONE. He knows now so we can all stop with the faking it now. Mr S can stop putting out the broadcasts too ,WE failed , Sorry Mrs Prof , we will give you a full refund and build the outbuildings now..lol
I think you seriously need to buy some farmland Prof.lol
P9mm is the same. you guys have this ability to cram them in and grow them with no issues .
It is an odd state of mind thing I get trapped in when I see an empty grow room initially I reckon. While I always panic about space and overthink the end part and a full room , I think you guys fill space early on and veg into the canopy filling. I get hung up on vertical growth issues too so tend to pull them all flatter which limits me too. Always a nice mix going on mate. . slowly catching up

The bottom fed coco plants have had a decent trim recently. There were so many bud sites disappearing into the shadows that I thought I had best step in before it was too late. It meant that I got to take all of the plants out of the tent but I didn't get any pics of that. I know, I'm an idiot. I have given them all a good check for things like pollen sacks or mould and we are in the clear with both. All these ladies are healthy as can be. Another thing worthy of mentioning is that I haven't been keeping up with the flushing and after looking at how healthy they look I dont think I will bother to do another one. I did 2 earlier in flower but haven't done one for around 2 or 3 weeks now. The pots are covered in a salty layer and there are roots growing right through it like they just dont care. The roots are so abundant on some that its difficult to tell the difference between the salt and all of the root tips sticking out of the bottom of the pots. I'm going by what the plants are telling me and they are currently saying that they are very happy. I have only found the smallest amount of tip burn, the leaves are a nice shade of green and the plants are frosty and look to be on track with the breeders recommended finishing times. Why fix something which isn't broke....

The wicking is doing well . Those tips are hardly touched at all. Finding stuff out like this is useful to know for future grows and holidays away. I still havent Ph'ed or done a res change on either of the nft tanks with the MC. I do have a couple of singed tips from early on in veg but nothing since. I am amazed to get away with it this long and it again throws my "knowledge" a curve ball. lol

Well it is vote time again folks. As by now some of you may know that I'm a bit of a party animal and today I offer you the chance to cancel the "mother plants flowering send off" grow. I wouldn't be doing this unless I had something awesome to offer you instead. So here is the question.

Would you rather see the Fat Purple, Hashplant D, Critical Jack and the Tropicanna Banana mother plants flowered as soon as the Barneys grow is finished up?

Or would you rather see this....

Barneys new and unreleased autos run instead?

I apologise for giving you guys these choices. One day I will learn to think for myself.
:passitleft:
Wow fella now we are cooking. Barney new autos.... I am doing a wedding cake now but photo in week 5. smells so nice mate . like cookies. Gz is one of my fave personal grows due to the tight nugs ( My X is Barneys Gz and barneys bg41 =Fruity Gorilla Sorbet By GGG , GanjaGrandaddyGenetics. She is all bg41 dominant for sure.lol).

and GG#4 is a no brainer too . although different breeder they are great looking to watch grow and build those trichs up , most others that have some of the GG#4 do frost well but just dont match the original . Depending on the Gz pheno used for their auto , they go both ends of the scale it seems. I had 2 huge and 1 squat growth phenos in the 3 I did as photoperiods. Lucky dip with that bit but Barneys dont fuck about so unexpected they went on the big Pheno. Wedding cake goes big too mate. lots of strong secondaries , plenty of lower growth to strip out too so seem very vigorous that way. It is the largest in the 2nd nft tank by a mile so another biggy potential in that strain. The GG#4 dies grow skinny as pis though and I am shocked at her lack of support compared to the crosses of the strain I have done. Not a "set it and go" plant and needs help. Worth it for sure but needs attending. With all that above ramble , my choice would be the do si do. i keep seeing these and want to know what the real deal is ?. Where better to go than your bedroom ???. lol. Long winded vote for do si do in there somewhere mate. lol
I thought I had caught up on the last seedling s and we are somewhere new already. damn I am so far behind. lol

"it was full but he worked it out".
That reminded me of the joke about the constipated mathematician...he worked it out with a pencil.

Space in a grow room is an ugly thing lol.

The wicking works really well and I'm going to give it another go with the next round. The Barneys pot was never flushed either and that was bottom fed soil. I couldn't flush otherwise the sand would have washed away and I wanted to keep it dry to deter fungus gnats. It has worked really well though I dont recommend using sand. It is so messy and has covered the entire tent in a layer of gritty dust. Thank god for bud washing lol.

Looking good GG. I will be over later for a catch up to see how things are going. I have a few to catch up on again lol. The GZ I harvested last night wins hands down for smell. That is some nasty weed lol. Much better than my first but also much smaller. The Glue really stands out.

I dont think I will be doing a Wedding Cake fem for a little while but the auto will be dropped shortly. I was reading up on their new autos and they sound pretty good.

Catch ya later GG

Well there is more bad news today. The damping off has spread and is affecting more plants as we speak. I thought that it was confined to the seedlings in the tray but now it looks like the remaining Caramelo will fall as well. Another 2 have bit the dust in the tray though I haven't even bothered to look which ones. MrS Sugar Candy didn't make it so I'm just going to call this one a fail. The damping off isn't confined to the cannabis either as it has just wiped out 4 young courgette plants as well. which where next to the seedlings for a short time. What a bitch lol.

Oh well. What do we do when we fall? We pick ourselves back up and get on with life. I will explain what the next move could be in a little while after I have assessed the damage. There are plenty of other plants just loitering about so lets see what we can do. Back shortly
:passitleft:

Ok so here is the damage.

All are dead except for 3 though I haven't got high hopes for them. The Blue Fire, Big Toof and surprisingly the C-Vibes are all that remain. I'm sure that the Caramelo will be gone soon as it is doing the same as the rest did before they collapsed. The new leaves seem to be getting smaller and pointing upwards rather than growing....

Caramelo looking sus....

DSC01418.JPG

The cuttings which have been in the window for some time now are all still ok. I did loose 2 to mould a week or so ago but a few of these look like they are actually beginning to grow now....
DSC01419.JPG

These were meant to replace the bigger mother plants which we could still use for the next grow I we like. There is also the Blueberry Cookies, White Widow and the 3 survivors (if they survive) which could all fill the gap. We also have more seeds but I'm hesitant to pop anymore just yet. I think I need to have a good clean up first and get the ship in order before risking wasting anymore plants, The Barneys auto grow will still go as planned though I will be planting those seeds in their final pot in the safety of the tent.

Something which is annoying is that the BC and the WW have been sat outside in all kinds of weather surrounded by slugs and powdery mildew infected plants and both have survived.

I'll do a positive update later today and show you how the bottom fed coco plants are coming along. Grease is the word!
:passitleft:

Love that wedding cake, one of my favorite strains to smoke right now! These ladies are looking fabulous.
Ive just lost a Pheno Finders Wedding Cake to damping off which is a shame as ive not actually tried one yet. I do have an auto which we're about to run though.

Thanks goody! I'll show you some nice plants later today lol
:passitleft:

G'mornin Prof, :passitleft: sorry to see that things are on the downside right now. But,as you know, there are mountains as well as valleys, the highs aren't as high without the lows. I really like wedding cake too! The way you pop beans, we'll be seeing lots more from you soon. Here's hoping that you all and your loved ones are happy and healthy. Stay safe and stay stoned.

Thanks for the comment Fred. What you said is very true and we will be back on top. I'm constantly weed scheming lol.
Hope you and yours are good also bud

Woohoo! Go Flamingo!

:rip: What an emotional ride for me the last few days. I can only imagine how you feel :( Grease is the word!
Lol. Carnage MrS! It doesn't bother me about loosing the seedlings but I did it for you guys. I wanted to make you guys happy but I'll just have to find another way. How about some flower porn?
:passitleft:

Thankfully there has been nothing bad happen to these babies. What a sick (as in good) looking bunch. I had to go and get Mrs F to show her and she gave me a backhanded compliment by saying that they dont normally look this good lol. The smell on a few of these is incredibly. One day when this is all over I'd definitely like to try some more Exotic Genetix strains. The Crumbled limes are still up there though and could easily win as my favourites. I hope the effects lean to the sativa side of things as I've only had the HPD to smoke on for a while now and as lovely as it is a bit too relaxing to use all of the time. These are on flowering day 48 and are doing well. I did forget to water them today though. Oops....

Well it seems that things can get much worse. I've just found out that one of my friends died in his sleep yesterday morning. He was only 32. I haven't seen him in a couple of years and just like that he is gone. I wont be able to go to his funeral either because of the lockdown. I feel pretty empty right now

Oof... I'm so sorry Professor. We joke around alot but there are times when nothing is funny. Stay well.
Damn, I’m so sorry to hear that Professor. Sending you all loves and hugs  :hugs:
Thanks guys. Means a lot. I still don't know quite what happened. All I know is that he was found in the morning and that he apparently died peacefully in his sleep. He had quite a large, close family and was a really popular guy so not being able to go to his funeral has upset a lot of people. It is only the closest memebers of the family allowed. No cousins or grandparents etc. It is one of those things which puts life in perspective

Thanks again guys
