ProfessorFlora Presents: The Flowering Inferno

Mold? I think
It's all the tourists bringing the botrytis with them!
Not sure about the Lemon Bubble but Double D's often get damp in the crease under the big buds, so good to keep an eye out.
:laugh::oops:
You mean "in 5 years" yes? We would miss you terribly if you took a break from growing for 5 years!
I hope that's what I mean. 5 years is probably how long I'd need for a tolerance break.
January can't come soon enough.
9 months and counting!

Hey 420! So, as I said earlier, we have had a casualty. The Birthday Cake seems to be very much like a real birthday cake and spoils very quickly. I have found another top today which has fallen. The group pic looks alright but on closer inspection there is quite a bit missing....

Here is the most recent top to fall. I saw this one earlier....
DSC01076.JPG

Which makes this one the final main top. I give it no more than 3 days....
DSC01077.JPG

The Lemon Bubble is a trooper but still has some way to go. I'm hoping her sativa genetics can help to keep the rot at bay....
DSC01078.JPG

Her scent is tangy and has the lemon notes just starting to show....

Double D's being all sweaty and hairy. It smells better this time around but is smaller than the previous attempt. I read an article in which Katsu Bluebird said that plants don't normally express there full flavours and scents for some time after they have been grown from seed. Apparently plants are better from the second time and onwards when grown from seed. This Double D's would suggest that there is some truth to that....

The big tent with the big plants. I'm still waiting for the big problems but it's being surprisingly well behaved. The Orangesicle is a greasy monster but her flowers will be tight and just like with the Lemon Bubble, I'm hoping her tropical side will keep her safe from the high humidity. The Barney's Farm Wedding Cake on the other hand feels like a time bomb. It's mahoosive! But the fact that we have several weeks left makes me think that we probably won't be taking these to the very end. Normally I try to head for 9 to 10 weeks but this is starting to become unbearable lol....

And finally we have the veg tent! Well, not really finally. We still have the WSE GSC and all the outdoor plants which aren't flowering yet. Here are the Weedseedexpress Purple Urkle's....

DSC01113.JPG

I have 2 more of those in the dirt. Should see them soon.

Next we have something a little light-hearted. This is what happens when you use my soil without cooking it first. Here is my Double D's clone....

What you can't quite see in these pics is the web like fungus which is stretched up and growing into the air like fibreglass filaments.
DSC01101.JPG

And now for something more serious.

ROOT NEWS!
Look at that root!....
DSC01116.JPG

And that one! It's like a little pigs tail....
DSC01099.JPG

Probably a sign I should be thinking about a transplant. Surface rootage....
DSC01115.JPG

So other than the 27 plants, I've not shown you, that is just about it lol.

Happy growing everyone!

Hey HG! It's that mouldy time of year again I'm afraid. I literally get hit every year with it. Last year was the Tashkurghan and some of the other plants in that round. Then the year before it was the Barney's Farm grow. That was a bad one. I'm a little more than anxious about this packed out tent which we have at the moment. The Barney's Wedding Cake has big buds which I feel I may never get to use.

If this happens every year, do you take any steps to prevent it like growing plants that are resistant to mould? Or have you thought about timing your grows so they end before or start after the high humidity time? It would be extremely frustrating having this happen every year.

The wolves are my in-laws lol. They acquired the nickname because they pretty much use me to grow their cannabis but are surprisingly unappreciative and even go as far as to punish and even threaten me if I do what they would consider to be a bad job. So fuck em.

:(

I'm starting a new thread and continuing this one as we won't be moving until January which is enough time to fill some jars for said move.

VG said this to me last year lol. The truth is that I didn't put in the extra work to find out how mould resistant what I am growing is. Some of it is advertised as being mould resistant and some of it isn't. Another thing is that my humidity is simply too high. 100% is just insane and hopefully I won't have to deal with that after the move.
have you thought about timing your grow
You know me by now. It's really hard not to plant anymore seeds lol. I know I'm moving out but I'm still fighting the urge to sink some more beans. Next year I will have to be more organised.

I know what you are saying but i just can't not grow.

I can't reply directly to a sad emoji but putting some distance between waring people can often be a good thing. It'll surely do everyone some good and maybe we'll get on better for it at the end of the day.

Hey 420! Back with another update but this time we are outside.

These are my lazy plants which I pretty much forget about. It's annoying how good they look lol. I have very little information on these. I'm not sure how long they've been growing and I'm not sure what they are....
DSC01117.JPG

This one is another Double D's. I did say we would be seeing this one a bit more....
DSC01118.JPG

Next we have 8 bag seed plants. No idea if these are regs or fems....
DSC01119.JPG

And then there is this thing. The last unknown Afghan landrace....
DSC01120.JPG

I took @BooWho2's advice and used egg shells to keep the slugs away. It has worked really well but I haven't had a poo in a month....
DSC01121.JPG
DSC01122.JPG

I'm not going to do much more with these other than a transplant, possibly. The 8 bagseed plants will be going into a single 10gal pot and left to the elements. Any males will simply be cut off at the base and removed....
DSC01124.JPG

I will get them out from behind the bins though....
DSC01123.JPG

Stay classy 420.
:passitleft:

If you mix a tablespoon of some of your composted soil in a glass of water and drink it, your constipation will be over within the hour.
Does it need to be distilled water?
I like that Afghani landrace! Is it a female?
It's still being a bit shy but it looks female to me.

I'm concerned that the acid in the lemon juice might kill some of the bacteria in the rotting ham hocks, and we wouldn't want that either. No reason to make it less effective!
Hey, hey, I'll have none of that! Those ham hocks are worm food by now. Both of those stinky bins are full of black gold right now and I'm just waiting for the autumn to scatter it about. See, even though I'm moving out I'm still treating the garden. Where I'm moving to they wouldn't like me much if I kept on with my composting lol. It is right next to the Victorian funicular!

Your plants and that bud are looking great!

They probably have a Victorian funicular but it won't be as good as ours. Ours is over a hundred years old, powered by water and goes up and down a 400ft cliff. Sphincter clenching!
Are you moving to Italy? That funicular sounds like the one in Gubbio. One of my favorite places…

Thanks Boo!

I wish lol. Just checked out that cable car and it looks awesome.

I'll send you a message featuring the VF as it is pretty awesome but it would be giving away my location.
