ProfessorFlora Presents: The Flowering Inferno

Here is what happend to the hash. I kept the best of the two harvest's which blended together in this plastic tub. It is unusable unless refrigerated. I've also discovered that dab tools are pretty useful when handling it. I don't know why I didn't think of it before. This stuff is like honey....
DSC00778.JPG

Here is the reject stuff lol. Even the wolves turned their noses up at it....

I think it looks great. What about you, @HashGirl?

This one kinda looks like peanut butter. Definitely a much prettier look. Even though the reject stuff looks bad, if your pack of wolves don't want it, you could send some my way. I'm sure you would still get high from it.

Do you ever cook with hash, Prof? And if you do, do you decarb the hash first? And, if you do, how do you decarb hash?

I'm sure you would still get high from it.
That's one of those "if you only knew" understatements lol. Trust me, it's pretty strong. The jokingly named reject stuff would certainly take the title of best hash where I'm from. There are no shopping bags in it for a start.
Wow a lot to learn from this one, Will be reading this tonite for sure
Hey BP. Thanks for tagging along. Not sure quite how much you'll take away from this one as I wouldn't call it my best performance lol. There's always something to learn somewhere though.
Won't be long before they're saying the opposite. ;)
Lol. Wont be long before someone asks why I keep going to the bathroom to do 420 related things.
If you turn your entire harvest to hash the wolves will have to find another den!
That has crossed my mind a few times. I thought about a rosin press as well but it looks like hard work having to press a pound of herb.
Do you ever cook with hash, Prof? And if you do, do you decarb the hash first? And, if you do, how do you decarb hash?
No. That's the short answer. Back in the day my friend's mother would cook with hash and make things like brownies and muffins. She would literally just grind a quarter of hash into the mixing bowl and that would be it. I don't think anyone realised that it needed to be decarbed then. It worked though. I remember one time myself and two friends went to see LOTR in the cinema and took two muffins with us each. What a night! That's an intense movie at the best of times lol. If somebody told me that those hash cakes could have been stronger if we had decarbed them then I would would have been a bit intimidated. They were strong enough lol.

Hey 420. I was a little delayed in putting the next round into flower but the lights have finally been turned off. The next round doesn't consist of quite as many plants though it's going to get crowded very quickly. It is a much healthier start and some of the plants are huge already. Well, huge by my standards at least. Let's see what we're working with.

This time in the small tent we have 4 plants and all are sativa hybrids. At least I think they all are. The Double D's doesn't have a lot of info and I can only find something that says it's a 60/40 hybrid. Doesn't say which way though. It seems more sativa to me though. These are in a much better shape than the last bunch and should fill this tent pretty nicely. They are only under a 100w light at the moment and I'm not sure if that'll change at all. The temps are great so no point messing with it those at the moment....
DSC00815.JPG

Double D's. My stinky princess. It's a bit finicky and isn't the easiest plant to care for in veg but it wakes up when put into flower. Expect to see this one every now and then....
DSC00816.JPG

Lemon Bubble. This plant is the opposite of the DD's and is an excellent vegger. I had to cut it back quite a bit to keep it around the same size as the rest. Not sure what to expect from this one but it sounds very nice....
DSC00817.JPG

The Afghaniberry's. These had me fooled to begin with. I assumed that they were indicas and I kept them aside for an indica run in the future. Turns out that they are not and should fit in with this crowd. We'll see lol. I have a feeling there is going to be much trimming in the coming weeks. Also these are exclusive beans as there were only 420 packs released. The genetics are Afghani X JCP....

DSC00819.JPG

Now we move onto the big girls. I think I may have overdone it with these possibly....
DSC00820.JPG

Wedding Cake. This is a strong plant and seems to grow quite rapidly. She is from Barney's Farm as well so it's a sponsors strain....
DSC00821.JPG

Birthday Cake. More cake! It couldn't get any more British. This one has gone flat like a pancake though and may be an issue in the future. She may be growing low but there are a huge amount of growth tips on her....
DSC00822.JPG

Orangesicle. Yet more dessert! This one has caught my attention as it's a Purple Tangie and Platinum Cookies cross. Sound sweet and funky indeed. It is growing very well also....
DSC00823.JPG

Like I said, currently they are all sat in darkness awaiting flowering day one. Hopefully this bunch will be better behaved and we should be able to beat that pretty good last result.
We're all counting on you, good luck
:passitleft:

Here are a few more interesting things going on behind the scenes.
Another unknown Afghani landrace....
DSC00824.JPG

This one is in recycled soil and is being fed with run off water from the grow rooms plants. That means it's getting a bit of MC and some GeoFlora with most feeds. One problem is that the slugs love her as much as I and like to give her a regular trimming without my permission. She could have been huge by now but has taken such a battering that I pretty much gave up on her last month. Then we had a week of nice weather and she came back to life. I'm still not sure whether to put her in a ten gal pot or put her in the ground. One thing's for sure and that is that she isn't coming back in to the house....
DSC00826.JPG

Also outside I have a bakers dozen of bagseed seedlings. All in the same little pot. There's another dozen or so of these if they are any good....
DSC00827.JPG

This week in the jars we have the Afghaniberry's. They look so good here, even better than they do in the tent. It looks like they have a Blueberry sheen to the leaves....

Hi Professor! :ciao: I didn’t realize that you grow outdoors too. I saw an article about slugs recently that had some interesting ways to get rid of them, including beer! Hopefully this works and is okay to post…

Thank Boo.

Normally I don't really grow outside. There's just enough space here between properties and with Covid keeping people away I thought I'd try something small. Last year I tried an auto which I started early in the year in a small pot. It went mouldy and I harvested a tiny amount of flower. I got a taste for it though and tried again with a photo plant. It also went mouldy but did much better. We did have a very wet year though. This year there is the Afghan and those unknown bag seed plants which I will try to keep small and bug free. I may also have a go at some Himalayan Landrace's soon but the year is moving on an all lol.

Flowering Day 8.

Hey 420. Hope everyone has been groovy. Let's take a look at what has been occurring over in my indoor garden.
It's the beginning of the second week of flower and already there has been a couple issues. The first issue is here in the first tent. Well, it turns out that we weren't going to fit three plants of that size in there. So the low growing Birthday Cake has been moved to the tent next door and the Wedding Cake and Orangesicle have a bit more room to spread out. They look great and are both quite similar at the moment. I've not had plants grow up to the stickers for a while....

DSC00837.JPG

The next problem was over in the other tent in which both of the Afghaniberry's turned out to be male which left a big gap in the canopy. So we have had to have yet another move around and I have settled on this for now....
DSC00839.JPG

We've had to pinch the mars tent just until the GSC have sorted themselves out. In the meantime we can flower some more plants.
In here now is the Birthday Cake, the Lemon Bubble and the Double D's and they fit perfectly lol. Hopefully we can still do better than last time even with the fun and games early on....again.

Bottom feeders....
DSC00842.JPG

The Afghaniberry's were removed and then trimmed and will be flowered still. I was after a male after all and these seem like good plants early on....
DSC00843.JPG

They will now be sharing a tent with this Double D's mother after I've taken some more clones from her....

Maybe this time I can make some seeds. Happy growing everyone. :passitleft:

Man, you don't mess around do you?

Looks like a couple of little jungles in the making! :Rasta:

Looking great Professor...healthy AF and ready to produce! I do think that you're exaggerating when you say there's enough room for both the Wedding Cake and Orangesicle in there, as it's a bit tight already.

Might want to thin a bit down below to help with the moisture as you go.
Birthday Cake, the Lemon Bubble and the Double D's and they fit perfectly lol.
And from looking at the structure on these, I get the feeling you're going to need some risers for one or another of these.

:goodluck: with the seed-making

Dang Prof, that wedding cake and orangesicle are intimidating already! Well done, everything is looking good across the pond.
Hey HH! The Barney's Farm Wedding Cake and the Orangesicle are killing it at the moment. They were left to veg that little bit too long but look great for it. They're still growing though....

That’s a delicious lineup you have going there Professor! YUM.
Thanks Boo. Seems like some good variety also. And so far no more issues. That's a lie but hopefully it's a good issue.
Man, you don't mess around do you?
Haven't you been here since the start?
Looks like a couple of little jungles in the making! :Rasta:
Cheers GDB. I do think that there might be a third and even a fourth little jungle turn up very shortly. The GSC have just woken up!

You may be right but we're going for it anyway. I've had to raise the lighting and the fan again today and I bet I'll be doing it again tomorrow.
Might want to thin a bit down below to help with the moisture as you go.
You knows it!

I thought you were going to say "super-crop!". I even did an early one on the Double D's for you....
IMG_20210725_173654_copy_6000x4500.jpg

The Silver Bubble may need some too but she's good for now. Nice leaves....
IMG_20210725_173644_copy_6000x4500.jpg

And I'm not sure that this one (Birthday Cake) will stretch much more at all....
IMG_20210725_173707_copy_6000x4500.jpg

They fit together at the moment....
IMG_20210725_173637_copy_6000x4500.jpg

Hey 420. Today I thought I could show you a little trick I learnt for when I'm cleaning my vaporizer. It doesn't sound overly impressive but just hold on a second.
Firstly you can get these here. https://www.zamnesia.com/
Zamnesia have an awesome catalogue with all kinds of goodies from seeds to vapes. Well worth checking out this great 420mag sponsor.

Let's get on with the magic. @DonkeyDick I'm sorry if I'm teaching to to suck eggs but I thought that you might like this.

So basically I'm just going to get the reclaim from the condenser without using alcohol. There is a small amount of fiddling about so it could be tricky for people who have difficulty with their hands. Personally I wouldn't recommend a Dynavap vape to someone with hand problems anyway as it is a bit awkward to use.
Here is what we will need.
One used Dynavap, one cotton wool bud and a small piece of flower....
IMG_20210730_090736.jpg

What we need to do next is to dismantle the device and get the condenser out....
IMG_20210730_092254.jpg

Next we need to take our piece of flower and roll it up tight so that it can be pushed through the condenser. The flower we will be using is some Sour Strawberries from Crockett's Family Farm. This is just a bit of rubbish from the bottom of the jar. No point using good nugs for this....
IMG_20210730_091024.jpg
IMG_20210730_091048.jpg

Roll it up tight with your fingers so it looks like this....
IMG_20210730_092345.jpg
IMG_20210730_092408.jpg

Now we have to stuff the rolled flower into the end of the condenser. This is the awkward part but it's not actually too difficult to achieve. It has to be quite tight though and it is also a good idea to heat up the device a few minutes before trying this to make the oil a bit softer and easier to move. Take care when handling the device when hot though....
IMG_20210730_092432.jpg

Once the flower can't be pushed in any further then you can use the cotton wool bud to push it the rest of the way. A tip for this part is to lick the cotton wool before pushing it through. When you get this far, stop and make sure you're ready to catch what comes out of the end....
IMG_20210730_092515.jpg

Continued....

So, next we need to carefully push the flower the rest of the way through the condenser. You should see something like this come out if the end....
IMG_20210730_092527.jpg

Oh my god!....
IMG_20210730_092540.jpg

Look at that reclaim....
IMG_20210730_092558.jpg

I put that straight into the tip. No grinder or anything like that. In fact, don't touch it at all. Just vape the little treat and be done with it....
IMG_20210730_092623.jpg
IMG_20210730_092835.jpg

As the flower has been compacted and then smothered in oil, it lasts a really long time in the vaporizer. I have gotten 20 hits from one of these and the effect is pretty good. It's like turbo charging an already very efficient method of getting you medicated and should probably be left until the evening before enjoying one of these. The flavour isn't bad though it's certainly nothing like fresh concentrates or herb. I'm not complaining about it lol....
IMG_20210730_092924.jpg

Back later with a proper update.
Happy growing everyone.
