Thanks Dude!! Appreciate it.

Your garden is looking rather swell to bud!! I'm excited to see where we go next!

Weasel, although I was aware of the conversion of PPM and that an EC meter is the ultimate guide, your comment is very well detailed and explains the idea very well. Thank you for that!

I've been reluctant to move onto an EC meter simply because I didn't learn about it first and before I paid 50$ for this damn meter. Haha. But it only seems like a matter of time before I'm probing my soil with conductive rods :)

re: Rex Pigeons Flies the Coop & Goes Perpetual in 2015

Are you set to 'standard mode'?

No need to get an meter that displays EC. it only matters when you're sharing/comparing readings between different meters. Without knowing that conversion ratio I don't know how it compares to my readings. Thanks pigeons.

Filling a tot is a great idea. I've been using distilled water but its a hassle going to the store all the time. So when you PH the water, does it say at the same PH level or does it dissipate after awhile? What does the fish pump do? Oxygen? Or just keeps it fresh? Thanks again

re: Rex Pigeons Flies the Coop & Goes Perpetual in 2015

It's a complete light fixture that holds 5 lights. Ya probably best for veg. Thanks. Have the 400 watt MH and HPS. Just found that when I had the 400 watter in the grow tent it got way too hot. Don't have one of those exhaust fans so I use the 400 outside the tent. OK well I'll just use the t5's in the tent for veg. Guess I can keep the t5 bout 4" away from the tops. Thanks again

I just went through the heat prob in a tent and the best advice I can give is get a cool tube reflector they are about 45.00 on cramazon. Best 45 I ever spent

The tote is a great idea! Water was the first part of my garden that I decided I wanted to take control of. I keep it all maintained at a PH of 6.0. To answer your questions:

Yes the PH in the water dissipates I need to PH just about every time I feed or water. Doesn't take much though.

The fish pump is for Oxygen. To ensure that my water is fresh and oxygenated. Without the water will become sterile and no good.

woke up this morning with girls screaming " DADDY FEED AND WATER US" lol so I did and now all are happy and waiting for lights to come on. good job again pidge:thumb::volcano-smiley:

That's great. I'll give that a try. Water on hand is a bonus. So so don't bother with distilled water and had great success with HP tap water?

Sorry I'm dropping the ball on these photos. But here's Jackelope.

They are a bit sluggish and still quite small.

re: Rex Pigeons Flies the Coop & Goes Perpetual in 2015

I've been plugging away at my renovations. And it seems that, aside from a bit of clean up, everything is done.

For the first time in my gardening journey I now have a room 100% dedicated to flowering cannabis. Up until now I've just been growing in a cramped area with all kinds of materials, tools and equipment scattered around. Now after many attempts I have now separated my growing space from my veg space. I no longer have to worry about light leakage or not being able to check on my veg room because it's lights out in the main room.
Plus, the idea is, that I can control the veg room environment much better because it's not in the same room as 1650W of HID power. (Tends to be warm and hard to cool).

So here it is.

So for those that remember there was a cabinet in that corner. The cabinet was my veg area. Now it's gone and we can consider that area a "cool area"

Now it's here.

Way to go Pigeons. It must be time for me to clean up my mess and get organized too. :laughtwo: It's looking good. Nice shelf. :thumb:

It's such a breath of fresh air, weight of my shoulders, peace of mind. So on and so forth.

I feel like now I can just sit back, relax and enjoy the show.

re: Rex Pigeons Flies the Coop & Goes Perpetual in 2015

On me fone. Pidge, I have learned the hard way that light leaks into the flower room makes for spermy hermies. Apparently very little light too. I am still working at light proofing my flower room. Check it well pidge, and is a bit tricky cuz the best way to check for light leaks is from 'inside' the flower room with all outer lights ablazing and the doors tightly close. For me that is a two person job. Cheers pidge

re: Rex Pigeons Flies the Coop & Goes Perpetual in 2015

I definitely agree, Nivek!!

I had a friend lose the majority of his buds because they hermied half way through flower. It's not a fun time!

I'm thankful now I have nothing to worry about. I no longer have any sort of light leaks. But that's not even the best part... I no longer have to get up when it's lights on and pull up the sleeping bag that covered the cabinet and open the doors. Now I can go down there whenever I like and water, feed or stare. :)

I've come so far and everyday I'm thankful I've met people like you that have taken this journey with me and watched me grow. I owe everything to this magazine. :)

That's a good place to be. I want to get there too.

re: Rex Pigeons Flies the Coop & Goes Perpetual in 2015

Haha actually I don't think it will!

That was a bit of a realization I had to make the other day. Because it's frustrating that I'm constantly changing things to get it right. It felt embarrassing when I was ripping apart the cabinet I specifically constructed (poorly) for vegging. And I built it not a month ago in anticipation for these little ones. Granted it was just a piece of shit TV cabinet that I recycled and it was full of leakages and not vented properly.

Just remember every thing you do is worth it! The girls will thank you for it.
