Lovely flowers Pij. Good morning BTW.

To hit back on the clones... I started one 4 days ago. Took a 4 inch cutting dipped in it GH BioRoots then put it in a 8oz pot. Put the pot in large zip lock bag and misted the insides. Closed the zip about 2/3 of the way but left breathing room. First 24 hrs and she flopped over, which is normal for clones. 24 hrs after that she was perked up again, and 24 hrs after that I could see roots through the drainage holes. I did it in order to see if the main plant is a female.

Pij, to touch back on autos and training. Why would it be faster to get a photo is an auto will flower earlier or does the training stop it from being an auto or something?

Flowering times are generally the same length. The advantage to an auto is the quick veg time. But once you start training it they stunt and I no longer consider them an auto.

Ah, I see. I've never grown an auto. Everything I've worked on has been bag seed and a BlackberryKush bag seed that ended up a male. I was stoked when I learned about Auto's but slowly but surely I've lost some of the excitement. Thanks Pij. You've been a great help as always. I'm just trying to get a feel for my next grow while I work on my current.

Never hurts to be a little proactive. I think you'll be fine if you stick to a few photos and train them as you see fit.

But it never hurts to dabble in something new and get your hands dirty

HOW TO GERMINATE (in soil)

I wanted to make a quick "how to" because I've been asked a few times what my preferred method is and this will be a nice spot for me to answer that. I've also noticed a few folks having problems with seedling and getting them to germinate. Well this is my method of germinating and it's worked time and time again. It's simple and it's easy. If done correctly the seed should show itself above soil in about 3-4 days.

So, let's get at it.

SUPPLIES
Smoke
Utensil
Pencil
Pot (to plant in)
Soil
Seed
Water

STEP ONE
Prepare yourself and get in the right frame of mind. This is crucial to a successful germination.

STEP TWO
Prepare your soil and pot. Using your pencil, create a hole as deep as the eraser on the end of the pencil.

image5212.jpeg

STEP THREE
Without using your fingers, try and drop the seed into the hole then gently cover the seed up with soil using your finger.

STEP FOUR
Water. The seed will need to be moist for the entire 3 days of germination. I like to mist with a spray bottle everytime I notice the top get dry. So anytime I see light brown compared to dark brown I know I need to mist it.

And that's it! In 4 days I will see some green and at that point I will reduce watering to when the top half inch or so is dry. Still using the spray bottle until she has her first set of true leaves.
I know there are other methods of germinating but this is the simplest way. Minimal human interaction and quick.

:thankyou:

Pigeon's you are the best! Such a nice and friendly guy, so helpful and positive. You deserved to win the Member of the year! You set a good example for the rest of us. In fact I have been going looking for new growers and answering their questions and being encouraging more as your greatness is influencing the rest of us to follow your fine example.

Thanks!

I will do a write up on my journal next time I do a seed run to show how i do paper towel method to hydro with no soil at all. Then they have two documented options that work great

I like your choice of seed bank ;)

Thank buddy! This seed was a trade between me and my good friend Bearded Budz! He loves these guys!

:passitleft:

Cheers Brudda!

re: Rex Pigeons Flies the Coop & Goes Perpetual in 2015

Great Tut!!!! I personally go water glass and then drop in soil when the seed has sank. You guys do trades? That's awesome!!! Congrats on the new pre-seedlings  Good day to you my friend :Namaste: :passitleft:

re: Rex Pigeons Flies the Coop & Goes Perpetual in 2015

Its nice to see someone doing it the proper, oldschool, natural way!

Tho i giggled alittle at step 3, you wont touch the seed, but youre still touching the dirt..which is touching the seed. Start using that pencil to push dirt over the seed :blalol:

Thanks for the mini tutorial!:thankyou:
And i agree... MoTY:Namaste:
