Peyton's Sour Sky Hempy Grow 2014

Seems like everything since the sixties has gone up by a factor of 10. I bought a new car when I got out of the army in 1970 and it was $2800. Bought a new car in 2012 and it was $28,000. Gas was 35 cents a gallon and it's $3.50 now. I built my house for $45k and now they tax me with the value at $400k. I can't even figure pot, I haven't really bought any since before my sons were born nearly 30 years ago. The worst thing trying to buy it is when you are 64 like me and don't have a contact or friend that uses it, you are out of luck and can't find any to help with your health issues. That's why I have gone to such lengths to TRY to grow my medicine.
 
I totally get it wildjim. It's asking quite a bit for an oldster like me to go out and try to infiltrate the weed network in this area, and hope for some decent quality and cross fingers it's not priced like gold. All without drawing attention, blah blah blah. If I grow my own, I can choose the strain, control the quality, and stay the hell in my house. Win, win, win
 
I don't have the age factor, but being as antisocial as I am it's hard for me to find steady supply, and once I do the guys starts upping the price every other week cause "this week it's haze so it's an extra 20". Aside from that have to go halfway to Chicago, which is stupid.
 
Took some pics this morning. Will post later after I finish working on new setup in garage. Two days after backbuilding, the change is subtle but noticeable. The tops of the buds are starting to thicken up. Very happy to see results, can't wait to see how nice it makes the end product. HGK is doing nicely, growing fast and vigorous. Second set of leaves are reaching for the bulb.
 
I have a question for everybody. When you ph a gallon of tap water, and put a cap on it for overnight storage, is it supposed to smell like farts the next day? Mine gets a real funky smell and I'm not sure if it will harm the plant

Maybe you should have it tested. I found several DIY kits on the internet and others you can send your water to.
 
PaytonManning ~ I'm not too knowledgeable, but I have been using distilled water (DH2O). My tap water has 60ppm and ph of 7.8 and I might use that on my next attempt at some medicine. I've probably used $30 worth of DH2O so far. $.78 a gallon at Wally World.
I do remember one time when I lived in Greeley Colorado my water smelled like farts and it was sulfer, so I was told by landlord. Wife decided we would move and we moved to Denver. Closer to school anyway. Got tired of riding my M/C to Denver every day. Got cold during the winter. Wife got to use the Bronco. 355 days of sunshine in Co a year, but it sure got cold.
 
I always pH my water 1 hour before watering. I'll leave it sit for a week aerated but I always pH before I use it. If using a pH pen and your solution is areated make sure to turn off the air pump before testing to ensure accurate reading. Not sure if the last part is true or not I was told this by a buddy.

Payton, you use the Lucas formula what I found was the easiest was I buy water from a water depot .25 a gallon. the ones that use the UV light to take the chlorine out and sediments all that crappy stuff. But with that water and adding my nutes It's the perfect PH right out the door and stays there. I haven't picked up my tester in 6 months , sucks to have to go get water but I need it for my coffee maker anyways. Dam Keurig's
 
Wow Stumped, I didn't know it was like that using tap water. Or do you use rain water? I think I'll go with the DH2O in my next grow, hempy bucket. Macro and Micro nutrients are in my GH FloraNova. Might need to add CalMag or Epsom Salts I don't know yet. I'll take any suggestions about added nutrients for blooming. I'll be doing an auto.

Subbed. Love a good hempy grow :) was reading about what you pay and call your greenery. I'm in Australia, we sell/buy grams $20 3for$50 1/4 $80 1/2 $140 ounce $280 pound $3000 plus or minus 10%. i started smoking in 91, final years at high school. Grams then we paid $25 and quarters about $115, couldn't afford any bigger amounts, and then party as well. U2 saw them with the clash or whatever they were calling themselves at time. It was at MCG, big sports venue in aus. We jumped fence and got front row reserved seats for most of the concert. Last few songs we went to the back of the stadium in the highest point of the stands and watched the last few songs blazing. I only went cause a crazy industrial band was meant to support but they got thrown off tour cause they got booed or abused and a band member threw one of their instruments (jackhammer) at a person in audience, ouch. Geez that was harder to finish than starting that story, just wanted to let you know what Australians pay, shouldn't get so stoned. Blah blah blah. Looking forward to see what you end up with, looking like you'll totally exceed expectations. Peace man :)
 
Welcome to the show grizz! I'm still working in getting some pics up. My grandpa died yesterday so that kinda put a kink in things. He was 94, so it's not like it was sudden or shocking. He was a true American badass, first special forces WW2. If you've ever seen the movie "the devils brigade", that was all about him and his unit. But I did start building my new room yesterday. Have the frame up, just need to put up paneling and it should be about done.
