Peyton's Sour Sky Hempy Grow 2014

I just spent $220 on a 5 stage RO filter. I have been spending $10 or so per week on distilled water. It adds up over time so I bought it. Going to set it up this weekend.

I could see collecting rain water, but I'd be worried with a coal burning plant just down the road from me. My woman ain't gonna let me spend any money anytime soon.

My Condolences man. 94 is a good life!

Sounds like he was badass. I'm going to have to checkout that movie, ww2 is my favorite type of movie.

Cheers man:)

It's a good movie. I don't wanna live to 94 that's for sure. He was grumpy in the end, which he blamed on outliving all his friends and most of his family. Apparently living forever has its downside.

I have a question for everybody. When you ph a gallon of tap water, and put a cap on it for overnight storage, is it supposed to smell like farts the next day? Mine gets a real funky smell and I'm not sure if it will harm the plant

Why do you put a cap on it? I use tap water, I almost bought a RO system, but I don't pay for water, my landlord does. And I understand that RO systems use a lot of water and I don't want my landlord to shut me down for excessive water usage. And DH20 which I started the first reservoir fill with cost 22.82 per fill and you need another $12.00 a week worth to keep it filled between change outs. So for a two week change out schedule it cost almost $50 every two weeks. I could buy a 1/4 every two weeks for that. So I decided to use Tap water and I bought a good filter system that is supposed to take out all the chlorine and larger particles. But my tap water still tests out to 450 PPM. I fill my containers, PH balance them and leave them uncapped at least 48 hours before use. I'm sure some dust and stuff will get in the little hole I leave open, but with 450PPM water I don't think my plants will notice, and as you know they are doing quite well on this water. The only drawback is the salt build up, so I plan on going top feed next grow to help combat that. If the water situation keeps getting worse, water can cost you as much as electricity.

How old is the container you are storing the water in. If you have used it over and over it could have picked up some contaminants.

Me? I was talking about my tap water lol low ppm but high pH but mine has earthy smell.

If u weren't referring to me, carry on sir lol

No this is primarily direct to Peyton. I know I use my drinking water bottle over and over, and sometimes it smells and I change it.

Sorry for your loss Pal. Those WWII vets are leaving for better places. As you know I lost my Dad March 29. He was first wave Omaha Beach Navy communications attached to the Army. Turned OSS after the invasion. He was almost 90. It'll be a sad day when none of the WWII heroes are left.

Wally World has DH2O for $.78 a gallon. I've been using it for my DWC but only use about 2.5 gallons a week. My hempy, coming soon, will be my tap water, 60ppm and 7.6 ph. I nearly pay as much for that as I do for my electricity. But most of it is sewage. Most drinking water, not spring water, sold in bottles is RO water with a little Ozone treatment. All the water bottled for coke and pepsi. I googled them before I decided on DH2O. Distilled water was cheaper for me from wally world.

I do believe that RO water, or distilled is better. But not worth the cost for me. Since I don't pay for water, if I use tap it is free. Saves me a $100 a month.

I use an old Arizona tea gallon jug. I cleaned it out with bleach before using it, and rinse it out everytime I use it. I'll try switching up the jugs too. I usually fill it and let it sit out for 24 hours, then add nutes and then ph it. Should I be doing it differently?

Yeah my grandpa was a first wave Normandy guy. They fought in wars that make my war look like a joke. Same with you Nam vets. Much tougher back in the day.

here's some pics from yesterday and a couple days ago. i'll try to get some good pics of my new room tomorrow.

That was why I use tap. I'm trying to grow on a budget, so adding anything is too much for me. It took me a bit just to be able to get led light. I'll figure out something. Just don't wanna spend money
