Not at all. I'll play devil's advocate for the sake of discussion. The earlier argument that varying methods do not appear in nature misses the point. The point is to
manipulate nature for your advantage. Scrogging, super cropping, extended light schedules, temperature control, colloidal silver, backbuilding, and many of the other things people do to try to get the most from their plant could fall into the un-nature-al category.
I too am not sure how killing the root system with scalding water differs from simply chopping the plant down at it's base. Kudos for giving it a shot! The nice thing is you're not out much other than a little time and a [big] mess
Maybe it's a hormone deal or some kind of stress, like the 24-72hrs of dark theory, that makes an impact.
I dunno. I feel like I'm rambling. I guess my point is that being new on the scene myself I'm wary of discrediting odd theories too quickly based on their lack of appearance in nature. Then again, you did try it.
