Thanks stumped. I think the backbuilding helped with that along with some koolbloom. If I get two ounces dry I'll be a happy man. I just want to at least outdo my first grow. Next year gonna find a good keeper strain and clone the hell out of it, try to do some perpetual growing. Vegging for 3 months to get 2 ounces isn't viable anymore.

I sure am glad for that. It is simple and effective. It is natural for new gardeners not to know ph affects the plants ability to take up the minerals and other elements required to grow and be fruitful.

I use faucet water. Mine is 61ppm and 6.3ph. I leave it sit for less than an hour. Every day I just make 3 gallons of nutes, one part of the GH Simple Drain to Waste formula in each gallon jug so I don't miss anything. I also add CaliMagic as it is not mentioned in the GH schedule. but is very necessary especially with LED growers. I also add 0.75 grams of Magnesium Sulfate, Epsom Salts. Then I ph each one to 5.78-5.87. Then I check the ppm. Around 850-900 now

I have tried DH2O in a DWC once. Buying water with faucet water like mine is wasteful. Could have used the money more efficiently.

WJ - That sure made a difference getting the proper ph's going when flushing and feeding :)
Do you use RO water or tap and let it stay for a day? It's a bit of a pain with straight tap water have to correct it even the day after, might be normal? But anyways glad that i always double/triple check :-)

Hey PM, 2-3 months to harvest is short and sweet. Make them auto fem seeds and photos will be a rare excursion into unique landraces. A nice thought to me anyway.

Good Luck to you Pal. I know you'll be one of the finishers. Place? No idea. But you'll be there at the end. I like that number 5 pot. and the hempy. I might have put the hole up another inch. That little rez won't last a day, hopefully for you. Better feed the hempy twice a day. Just jabbering, sorry.

Shit i still don't know how to get calmag around here, or what else to do? Kinda lost. :/

Everything I need I get from my hydro store & if they don't have it I buy it online. Which product are you after? If it's a big US manufacturer you can guarantee there's a UK supplier so I'm sure if growing is popular in your country they should have a supplier there also :) Google the product & select your country in the search, if anyone is selling it, it'll be there

I am looking for CalMag. I've found 500ml calmag from uk which costs 8 pounds. not sure if this is expensive, but the shipping then costs 20 pounds, and thats where i think its getting a bit pricey. I've even tried the local gardening stores and they only sell like the normal fertilizer stuff. There's only 1 local grow store here, and its a combined store so there's basically NOTHING!

That's a bummer, is there no grow shops in your country you can mail order from to keep the cost down?

No unfortunately not. I haven't found one yet, there's several online shops thats from here, but none of them have calmag. I guess the market is here, but not that big since shit is illegal, and i guess the stereotypical grower around here would be using HPS/CFL and soil.

That's where the UK is lucky, it's illegal to grow here but not sell anything to do with growing so hydro stores are plentiful. I hope someone else can chip in to help you out mate

Same here, not illegal to sell seeds, equipment and so on, but to grow the plant then its illegal.
Yep, i'd like to make the stuff myself, but i don't know what to extract from? I've read something about egg shells?

If cal mag is still a issue for buying. How about dolomite lime (calcium carbonate) Any gareden center has it. I buy sunshine mix 4. Premixed with lime but when planting my new plants in flower I'll add .25 tsp to the hole before planting. I like to take the preventative approach rather then the correcting approach. I've learned the hard way amending your soil pays off lol simple things is all.

Okay, thanks for all the input :-) Not only for me but for all the other growers out there experiencing same difficulties.

This is what i found after some search.

What are egg shells made of?

The main ingredient in eggshells is calcium carbonate (the same brittle white stuff that chalk, limestone, cave stalactites, sea shells, coral, and pearls are made of). The shell itself is about 95% CaCO3 (which is also the main ingredient in sea shells). The remaining 5% includes calcium phosphate and magnesium carbonate and soluble and insoluble proteins.
