Perpetual Pics

I also remove all the fan leaves on days 21 and 45 of flowering. This doesn't affect the plants in any negative way. It allows the light to penetrate and the bud sites full exposure resulting in larger and denser buds.

Is the science on that sound? I have heard people argue this one back and forth continuously.

You are convinced that removing fan leaves during flowering will not compromise bud health?

Yeah. They call it defoliation. There's lots of stuff on this site and others on the topic. I started doing and liked the results. It lets all the bud sites get maximum light. Also, it makes manicure time faster.

I took some pictures tonight. First up is the fox-tailing Purple Kush. I eventually staked her and 3 others.

I guess this is a side note or addendum from last night...

I'm just not too convinced on the Osmocote Plus regiment. In the last group shots, center-left are the ones in question. While most of my strains are dealing, the Holy Grail Kushes are exploding while utilizing these nutrients. As I stated, this is an experiment-using time released ferts in a passive hydro grow technique.

Purple Kush, BC God Bud, Northern Lights x Skunk, Blue Blood, Northern Light Blue...just seem too 'stunted' looking.. I'm sure that a person, with enough time, could dial this in. But that person is not me. I want to keep using this style of growing but have been looking to shop for different nutes.

I'm still on the wall, but it's going to be between Botanicare organics or the full deal Advanced chemicals with the PH Perfect. At the same time I have a compost pile most of us would be envious of. I have the know-how to make teas, just not applicable to the substrate in my Hempys.

I believe I have just under a week before I start flushing. Last harvest I used ice water with the Botanicare Clearex. Really brought out the blues and purples. Think this time around I won't use the ice water and just let the plants shine on their own genetics.

:Namaste:

I can't believe this in less than 1 gallon pots!:bravo:

Yeah...what most people fail to comprehend is that this is Passive Hydroponics. No Chillers, no multiple thousand BTU AC's. No timers other than the lights ans=d fans. Pretty easy-peasy with, in my opinion, reliable and 'good' results.

I spent a lot of time last night trying to find the old journals on this site that I learned this tech from. Seems they are wiped from existence. Honestly, I think the dude got scared and bugged. At any rate, a person can enter 'hempy bucket' into a search engine and see with their own eyes. I do 'alright' or 'damn fine' in my thinking. Still haven't seen anything better out of a dispensary; but I don't live in Cali.

Last night I decided I've seen enough evidence. The Skunk #1 x Haze labeled as "#2" was dispatched with much prejudice. The flowering clone, extra clone in veg, and mother plant are now in the afterlife. :rip:

I'm thinking the Northern Light Blues will get one more feeding before I start flushing them. Damn, I feel like a first time grower. "Is it time, are they done? Hell with it, they're coming down." The scope shows almost 100% cloudy trichs with no amber. I'm thinking around 1 1/2 weeks and they will be done.

:peace:

I try but still not content. It was really hard to see but it looked like that one plant had a touch of Botrytis. The plants shimmer with tricomes by the naked eye. Looked like a little bit of grey fuzzy so I clipped her.

I need to put my oscillating fan back in the tent. But, as it is a floor-base model, I don't currently have the room. The game plan is to tonight flush the NLB's with Clearex, keep a good eye on them, then bring them down this weekend.

I have 31 clones ready to go in the cloner but a medical patient I know wants to purchase 20 of them. Should work out well with timing and space constraints. I'll be flowering some Blue Blood for the first time off my new mother plant.

Once the cloner is re-sterilized I have four Kerala Krush plants that need to be sexed. Not a lot of info available on that strain. I read "...do not grow indoor..." Well, we'll just see about that.

:Namaste:

All the Northern Light Blues are down and trimmed-eight in total. I'm really disappointed. I've never had Botrytis indoors. I think it is from a combination of incredible bud density, taking the oscillating fan out of the tent, and having a negative air pressure inside the room that the flowering tent is in. Tonight I'm going to construct a light-proof passive air intake into the room. Putting the fan back in too.

I'm lucky that none of the other strains are currently affected. I threw out any questionable nugs. I'm guessing I'll end up 3-3.5 ozs dried. I cut the buds into smaller sizes to facilitate drying. I know it's not the best way, but I have that oscillating fan playing across my drying rack.

Not sure if I should give up on this strain or wait until I can afford better climate control. I'm currently laid off from three jobs. Was supposed to be teaching at the college on the 22nd but my class was canceled until January due to low enrollment. I kicked butt at the interview for the prison instructor job but they gave the position to someone else. Kinda depressing at times.

Well, I'll be on mold patrol once the HID comes on. I may take some pics. The Purple Kushs and BC God Bud will be the next to come down.

The quick dry worked, lost another at least .75 oz to the grey mould. 8 plants with one week of veg from the cloner netted 3.1 oz's. Shoulda woulda coulda...Still, that's like in 1.5 square feet of real estate.

I also took the new clones out of the machine. I posted pics 4 days ago. Wish I did it again today. A true 5X increases. I had to root-prune just to get them out of the neoprene.

I wish that I could have flushed them longer, there's some residual nutrients. Not near as bad as some I've paid good money for in the past. This time around there's a really nice blue berry bouquet. Delicious Seeds advertises 20% THC. Well, one hit of this batch makes my feel just right. I assed-out on the love seat last night.

Cloner is sterilized. Going to get her fired up shortly. Thinking one each of the four Kerala Krushs, mainly for sexing, then six each of Blue Blood, Holy Grail, Skunk #1 x Haze, Northern Lights #5 x Skunk #1, and Critical. It's nice having plants going that mature at different rates. We are officially perpetual.

The buds look great! I feel you on the mold, I hope it never comes back. :Namaste:

Good job with the salvaging operation, hope you enjoy those buds brotha :volcano-smiley:

Exactly! And like you said, it's better than some of the over priced garbage on the market Josh.
Congrats...

So folks, here's where we lay. First up is the veg tent after taking clones. Dude is not going to pick up the set-aside ones until this weekend. I had to "squeeze" the cloning machine in there. Wish I had room in the cloner to take some Purple Kush starts, but the other strains were taller. Still, it's getting to the point where I've ran out of fingers and toes to keep track of the strains.
