Perpetual Grow Among Other Things!

My first harvest took 7 hours, get spring loaded cutters trust me you'll thank me later

I was just being super careful and budwashed as well.. first 5.5 oz harvest I was noobing it... Next one i have a plan already... sorta... lol

yah i bought decent spring loaded cutters.. kinda like the curved ones wasnt sure if I would... Not great ones though they have pinched me.. lol

But Bama has a big one going and that all at once would be something... lol

Let's do this!

10-28-2015

start right off with yesterdays stats....

IMGP0774.JPG

And todays

IMGP07882.JPG

Cal mag add today in flower...

Not sure why the N1 tub is dropping PH daily... It does drink the most but I wouldn't expect the PH drop but i do expect the PPM 's to spike daily...

So let's slide over to look at some flowers...

IMGP07801.JPG

Things are good... added some water (ph'd) to flower tubs and the cal mag.. adjusted ph on one tub .. we'll see what happens...

IMGP0782.JPG
IMGP0781.JPG

Just all going good.. I did swat 1 white fly in the veg room.. damn thing got him... no way to tell what that was after i got em.. I dont expect nothing at all in a basement but I need to keep an eye out.. I keep the sticky things out and rarely catch much so i am sure it's just the occasional.

The TW and Ww are slightly squeezed but doing very well.. growth is happening really good on the youngsters... They will pop in a week or two when harvesting starts. That's when they gain a lot of room...

The PC is so sticky if you touch a leave.. your fingers want to stick together after.. Can't Wait!

So let's look at the next Rookie class!

IMGP0777.JPG

Poor PC b and C little do they know if the PC-a clones take .. well just one really... then (they go away)
I think the PC will be a keeper strain so lot's of clones and cullings... clones and cullings... Let it be a warning to future clones...the strongest one only moves on... grow fairly and let the best clone win...

IMGP07781.JPG

The Bubba Kush and the Delicious Cheese Candy are on schedule for a 2 week take off to the planet flower! I think they will be ready... early to flower early to harvest!

IMGP07761.JPG

So here are the clones.... finally...

Kinda took them .. set up the bubbler and threw them in.. was a weird night as I did it like at a weird time and not careless but sorta preoccupied.. had to keep leaving and coming back..lol

so a few days later I am still like oh yah.. i haven't even looked at them really... they are alive...so far so good.. at least another week minimum to have them pop.. just patience is all i think it needs...

So I guess that is about it...

Thank you for looking and be safe...

Great update FE. I have to say that the flowers look great. And the two new ones are really starting to bush up. Those little suckers are about to take off for you I think. :)

I have spring loaded clippers already. I have a plan in progress for harvest. Of course when the time comes it will all go out the window and just have to wing it and get through it to figure out what works and what doesn't. I do not think it will be a one day dramatic harvest with an epic 72 hour trim session. I am thinking I will harvest as the plant tells me it is done. :) Hopefully they will be considerate and finish in orderly staggered manner. :)

Lookin purdy healthy in there; nice job!

I've gotta give to you; you are consistent with recording all your data... I started doing that awhile ago, but more or less gave up on it as it was becoming a pain for me. Would be awesome to have an app to plug these numbers into and see it produce a graph of the data... I'm rambling now.

Have a good weekend sir!

Cogreen I believe they have some apps for growing. I am really considering writing a program to do just that. I am still learning everything myself so for now it is just a thought, but I have been thinking a lot about it. I want to write something that will allow for a bunch of different variables but still be fairly accurate. It is something I have kinda been imagining in my head but I may start outlining something next summer. :)

Bama
Yeah I was actually just discussing writing an app with ScienceGrow over on his journal here: ScienceGrow's Bag Seed Sativa - Alpha Clones - Soil - LED/CFL - Grow

As I mentioned to him, based on my research I just don't see the big enough market for such an app to justify (my) time... Obviously if one just wanted to do it for fun it would be a decent project. I learned my lesson a few years ago when I spent 2 years of my "free time" developing a stock trading site with "live data, scans, etc." only to find I couldn't find enough time to maintain the site longer-term. 2 years and 100s of hours down the drain (well I did learn a ton, so not wasted time).

The same with me now. I do not know enough about growing. I know what I would like to have an app do. And that is easy enough to program. But how useful and accurate it would be is hard to say with out knowing what they should do. Something I will keep in the back of my mind.

Yes funny you should say that. I have changed it like 4 times now.. paper charts, Excel, Marker board, Pics attached to outlook calendar... calendar is what I am using right now because them I just upload it to two places when I post. Excel was the most effective for true data.
I do plan on changing it at some point. I debated a laptop in the grow room for data entry and email it to myself to upload.. or just post them from it.. PIA though..
Probably as things get things better on the grow side... I do plant on Excelling it. Right now I am still learning too much with each grow but vastly improved on this one.

on data recording and all.. just not good for more than referencing....

Good convo thanks for posting....

FE

I think part of the issue with an app is the data side is a lot for reference here for others.. I could technically go in room view it all as within parameters and or adjust accordingly and call it good.. take a couple pics and say high... I do use it to learn now.. I am learning trends.. etc.. but once i have it all understood I can see why it may be not needed...

Getting the data into usable forms is a challenge and one most easily overcome if you have a personality suited to that minutiae, or you're working your grow commercially, in which case good data collection and analyzation are necessary to success. The rest of us struggle with it or avoid it altogether past the rudimentary stages. This grow was my first at collecting data and I've struggled to find ways to make it more useful. But at least I started, which means now I can improve.

You've been incredibly consistent from the beginning. I admire that.

Thank you kindly Sue that is a big compliment cause that is the goal... If i stay consistent on my records.. posting .. data then it should mean the grow will be consistent... I have slowed down on the posts some as I have been busy and it can be a real time hog...

I decided last night to flush the N1's and i took off any fan leave I could reach.... Early but I just want it out of there to let the PC have all the room for then next week or two until harvest... No idea why i butchered it other than a test and want more air flow... My hands where so sticky that i could not even clean them with normal soap. WTF is in the BC. Yahooo! that's on the N1 the PC has twice as much frosting...

Just a quick update... hopefully I can wait at least three days to take the N1's out but the weekends make it hard not too...

Thinking hard about it.. Should be but I need to rethink layout... Flower tent vents charcoaled continously into veg room and cant keep up with the ripeness.. The veg room filters out based on temp and yes 90% smell is gone... but every once in awhile you get a whiff.... I am sure it will subside as i have 3 larger plants 1-2 weeks from harvest. When I only have two at a time at the late bloom phase might be better...filters are very new so I do not believe that to be issue. Veg Room addition will change all that anyway... I will probably use that as the excuse to do it ..lol.. not that i need one...

Put the clippers down...

11-1-2015

I really want to chop that damn N1's plant (s).

Ok I'm back...

Past Stats

10-29

IMGP0794.JPG

And 10-30

IMGP0796.JPG

Today's stats

IMGP08121.JPG

All kinds to talk about bout stats as you see are pretty good!

Been all over the place but today seems good... Todays stats reflect a new temp humidity system. Just a little more elaborate wireless weather station. Maybe i'll do a review or something when I get use to it. I also have a problem with one sensor and am unsure of it's accuracy so far.. further testing to follow. But definitely easier to deal with than resetting and using loose gauges. And I was able to add a zone outside my grow room in my basement.. Listed as B in my stats. It is the pool of air i use to keep the grow room in check... It varies with outside temperature so this should help to chart it... it's volume is probably 50 times that of the grow room.

I started up my excel spread sheet and spent some time improving it etc. Sweet Sue motivated me again. I need to be able to get certain things done in my gorw that I can't skip. Charting at this point is important for a noob so I need to get back to it.. Later I may be able to discontinue it but for now it should be done.

So if chores like those and i need to rethink priority list need to be done. If they take too long then I need to be smart enough to find the solution to cut the time. I was using my drill pump to swap out tubs and i recalled I had a 120v hi powered transfer pump... I was a little worried at its power but.. damn 2 minutes for like 8 gallons... probably less but i have to be cautious not to spray water everywhere... I use it to refill .. Like 30 minutes to swap out about 30 gallons including mixing nutes... Was taking 2-230 hours... Just something everyone should always be thinking about is streamlining... redid excel sheet etc...

So i pulled 2 clones from the TW and WW

IMGP0813.JPG

Still a little small.. But week 2 in flower and they are growing but not showing flowers yet... Good time to get them.. If any have issues i can still pull more prob at least for another week. My other clones in the middle are doing really well and no signs yet of roots but anytime. They are not really showing anything negative either... Just kinda wilting a tiny bit... Cloner is really getting consistent. Not sure why it really is as simple as it gets... just cut clones.. split bottoms a little scrape one side a tiny bit and put them in.. cloner is so lite on nutes and just root enhance from GH.. simple..

So lets look through the rest of Veg...

IMGP08071.JPG

Anyone want to come pick these up before I cull them? poor things...

IMGP08111.JPG
IMGP08091.JPG

These two are really growing well.. They will be going into flower in a week and they are better off than the TW and WW when they did. These two should really pop. The left is the bubba kush and the right is the delicious cheese candy. So i think cronic is going to grow a BK... ummm i better nail that one or i will umm ,, look silly..... help.... jk... I always loved the strain one of my all time fav's It really made me see the benefit of good smoke.
It is growing slightly shorter but these two are really both thriving...

So the flower tent.....

IMGP0797.JPG

Over all is really ripe.. sweet.. lush.. and beat to crap depending where you look....

Ripe as it gets.....

Lush Lush .. healthy and drinking.. When I cut the clones.. there was lots of moisture in the stocks.. drinking well..

IMGP08051.JPG
IMGP0806.JPG

And beat to shit.... But flushing so kinda expected... Some really good nugs there!

I may do a mid week chop I am not sure when yet but soon.

So i guess that's about it....

Thanks for stopping by...

Looking Nice in there! so before you chop, any estimates on yield?

Good call! yah probably 2-2.5 zips on the two N1's total (hard to tell it is 2 plants) and I bet about 3 on the PC which i should cut this weekend... My last grow was just one of the N1's but with as much space as it needed and i scrogged it. got 5.5 zips on that all said and done... the N1 is a horrible strain.. bag seed unknown.. Realize now it is old timey mass grown outdoor blah... Run side by side with the Pineapple Chunk the N1 had all kinds of issues and the PC was handling all I gave it and then some.

More than i want... sounds funny but my state is weird so limits a lot... So goal for me is a harvest every 3 weeks with only 1-2 zips... Variety is the key for me.. and fast... So every three weeks another 2 go into flower ready or not... Small harvest are good by me but... shooting for serious quality... That is really what i meant when I said I try to mimic cronic's grow... he does the same 3-4 weeks max veg...

Eventually if i get overloaded then i will kick it up a notch on the other methods.. edibles.. butters.. oils... Soon ;)

thanks for looking!!
