Parfactworks HB 1500, Weed Seeds Express & Prescription Blend 3x Sponsored Grow - The Safari Pt I: A Vegetative Journey

Well update time!

I feel terrible for putting Limelight through this!! She is fighting and I think will be fine but at this point, I'm praying for her...just damn...how did I not catch this earlier and realize what I was doing...
20211113_100228~2.jpg

Goldie was small and slow to start and then I stunted her some more, curling her poor little teeny leaves...those seconds are slowly but surely coming through though...this my Bubs of this round-half of it is my fault so I have to do her even better than I did with Bubs

20211113_100216~2.jpg

Onyx and her strong Sirius Black genes fought through that burnt stage hard and is doing very well

20211113_100256~2.jpg

J.H. Spidey is also recovering well, her first were completely under her, I had burnt them up good...ugh makes me sad

20211113_100249~2.jpg

The Gelato girls are just perfect...minus the extreme ends being a little burnt also...duuuh Krissi!!!

That's all for now guys and gals! Happy growing this Saturday!
What caused Limelight’s leaves to curl so severely?

What caused Limelight’s leaves to curl so severely?
The light intensity I had the dimmers set to (she was in the middle, so she got all the rays)...she must have been the most sensitive out of all of them also-ironically enough with the name I gave her...

Not a bad set back at all. They’re going to get kicking and flourish now that the path is set straight.

:woohoo: to Moving forward with a smile.
I know Nev I just kick myself, you know!! I am the Queen of saying "doing the same things and expecting a different result is insanity". And here I was, not realizing I wasn't doing things the same to begin with (using different lights) and still doing the same thing with them and expecting it to be fine...plus, when I realized it was probably the lights, I kept going up thinking they needed more, before I guess the smoke cleared, and I saw this fault in my ways....you know I'm always positive, just hate when I do stupid things that I know better of. Thanks for the encouragement, it is much appreciated Nev!

Hey krissi! The little ones seem to be doing better now you worked out the light situation :) it is hard when you get new equipment to learn what works but your getting it now :). If it helps I've got my 2 LEDs set at about 4 feet away I have my smaller one on full and the larger on 70-80%. But I'm a few week Infront of you. At your stage I had the small led only set around 3 feet away at 60%. I also found the propagator super useful in keeping high humidity and temps stable. You can grab one for hardly nothing and really helps keep the atmosphere perfect for the girls when they are tiny.

Good morning!

Although I am always positive, I do have two issues today:

1. LIMELIGHT looks like she isn't doing much...not dead...but maybe in a coma..she's not well...I almost dropped another NYC Diesel in water last night...If she doesn't make it, shame on me for frying her and I am still debating throwing another seed of her on if she doesn't work out

20211114_095107~2.jpg

2. The radiant heat I have in the grow room is becoming a slight nuisance..by slight, I mean the humidity in my veg tent dropped to almost 28 this morning. It's causing such dry heat, I may need to add a humidifier. In the summer, I obviously didn't have this issue with the high humidity on my last couple grows. I added a cheesecloth covered water bowl and went back to basics-i turned off the blower. I'm allowing the humidity to rise and not escape. I had to do the opposite of this last grow in my 5 strain 3rd grow, the humidity was soaring to acid rain and I had to hook up the inline. Humidity is on the rise again so I'm OK with what transpired this morning so long as I caught it.

Alright...all the negative aside, Goldie is still pushing those leaves...she is still teeny. She's still growing and working it...I'm debating transferring her to soil based on how well the others responded....

She and the other 4 will be fine....

Also made delicious spinach, bacon and cheddar quiches this morning cause when I'm stressed, I cook, and I was running low...

That's all for now guys...

Thanks Moony. I'm currently at 21 inches and 25%...I was thinking of rising it and increasing intensity but I am so scared. I dropped them a few inches cause I was up at 24 at the same intensity trying to get them to recover. I'm concerned with Goldie being so small, I don't want to start cranking but the others I feel could use a 30 setting or even 35 now...it's been 4 days..I am battling a humidity issue now...worst case, propagator

Thank you, I do my best balancing...love it here though...

Well gosh Charlie, talk about having to work backwards..at least there is an end in sight??!! I assume this is this weekends plan?

And absolutely they are fragile little things...so much wonder in something so small...pretty amazing...hope that you get everything the way you want it and the clones work their magic the next few days!!
Work, work, work...busy Sunday.

Pic when you're done, please Sir Charlie
The fun never stops here in Hooterville. I went to put together the new 2 X 4 X 5 tent and thought..."what the heck, I'll just grab one of the corner parts from the replacement tent box they sent me and seal the box up and send it back" . The original tent I received was missing one corner part, if you remember. I thought, why try to repack the original, I'll just use the original tent that is mostly assembled and do a quick part grab from the replacement one and I'll beeee...done, Done DONE!.

Not to be (cue immense "SIGH!").

Apparently, the mfg'r had upgraded the corner parts since my original tent arrived one month ago. Instead of metal corners, they were now reinforced plastic corners which did not connect the same way (head slap!). But, the new plastic corner did connect fine, worked fine and fit OK. I thought: "...do I want a tent with all metal corners except one? No!"

I thought about disassembling the original one completely and repacking it and decided...NO...too much work for a Sunday. Instead, I just used the original tent which now has four plastic corners on one end and the old metal corners on the other. Never had a problem with the metal corners before on my other two tents (same brand).

Problem solved (back to watching football...Yea!).

I threw the three metal corners I had left back in the replacement tent box and sealed it, put the shipping label on it and it is awaiting UPS pickup next week (that return box now has three metal corners and four plastic ones).

Sunday is supposed to be the day of rest. It has been anything but restful. LOL!

It has been on all day here minus some Blippi in the morning....some good games...TK is a Cowboys fan so you know he was happy

You are probably best leaving the light intensity low until two to three true leaf sets form.

I learned a lesson recently. In my veg tent I have some free seed vegs and some Candy Kush vegs that are all 6 weeks. Some of them are getting sunburned. The Candy kushes are fine but the Fruity Pebbles/skunk cross and the FP/OG cross sustained pretty severe light damage. Shows you right there the diff in strains and crosses.

I think you are best with seedlings to run them under low intensity lights like 150w LEDs or flourescent tube lamps (even better) until you get a couple of true leaf sets at least. I think a lot of growers start seeds and raise seedlings to 3-4-inches high before slowly exposing them to higher intensity lamps. Looks like a little fert burn too - leaf tips/edges. You can get some cloning ferts that work well on young seedlings. Just "bland" soil and cloning ferts for young seedlings is fine. Real low intensity nutes that bring them on slow. Baby foods first - steak and potato later.

Thanks Charlie. These girls are staying at 21 inches and 25% for the next few days...once they develop a third set, I will increase by 5-10%. May raise the light by a couple inches when I do. I appreciate you sharing your personal experiences. That is what makes this site so special and so helpful

Treat yo' self girl!!! Hehe my propagator could fit 20 0.5L pots in it haha I might have gone a bit overkill lol but it meant I could use it as a tray until I needed to repot the ladies :). But yeah for keeping the humidity above 60 I found the propagator next to non. You can get small ones too just make sure you check the height measurement you ideally want at least a foot heigh so the ladies can grow a little and have space above the pots. If your doing autos tho alot of people like to plant the seed into their forever homes straight away. In which case a 2litre plastic bottle can be recycled into a personal propagator for the ladies or even a upside down plastic cup while their tiny.
A disadvantage to this over a propagator is that it's harder to get a measurement under the bottle/cup where as in a decent propagator there will be room somewhere for a temp and humidity meter

Just a bit of advice from a noob like me hehe.

Get a cheap florescent set and try that...alot less work and you can basically drop the bulbs right down on top of the seedlings being that it is "cool". Those veg seedlings will love the "blue" light.

Quick check in. Mil is coming today and doesn't know I grow so.....how doesn't she know? She's a true blonde and I love her dearly....I'll leave it at that...

Well increased dimmers after getting over my fear. Humidity back on the rise, temp just where I like it...humidity was higher until I had the tent open.

All girls loved the extra sun...even Limelight, I think saw rays from her coma bed because she moved her stalk towards the lights and away from the corner I had her in...

Goldie and her littlest second sets make me smile!!!

You can tell J.H. Spidey was not on the good HB1500 side of the lights, she was reaching to be on the other side with the Gelato girls and Gigi (from my other "other" journal)...

DAILY WISDOM #33...Think I missed the boat yesterday

Nah...I used the cheap 60w full spectrums and have a flourescent. I'm trying to up my game and not work around my flaws...would never become better if I didn't go out of my comfort zone and I finally did and I think I'm working it well, be it after fail, with this set up...easy thing for me to do was to quit the challenge and walk away, go back to my old set up for seedlings...but what gets learned from that, Charlie? Niente...so...it's all good!! No worries, I got this!

Humidity back on the rise
I kid you not! I’m really struggling right now with High humidity with lights out and the tent closed up. Exhaust fan running as two other circulating fans. In the 6 hours the lights are out the r/h goes from 55 - 72.

And by the way Onyx is visibly looking quite stunning. ;)

What the fish sticks!!! That damn Gordon and his filet shenanigans, screwing with our RH!! Have you found anything to keep the balance cause I just had my flower tent now at 39...smh

Thank you Nev, you were right, naturally :high-five:
