There was an interesting article I read somewhere though, ill try and refind it. That discusses the benefits of not using COMPLETELY base line phd water during your weekly flush however.
The reasons, not wor for word so dont quote me, but it basically said to think about it like drugs. You are essentially feeding your plants a high dose of drugs one or two times a week. Then to take it away completely could potentially cause lockouts and other problems. It talked about how it would be wise to not use PLAIN water, but an extremely small dose of the given nutrients you were using during a heavy feeding. Somewhere around 1/10th or less strength. basically so you are not completely starving them Until the very end of flower where you DO give them plain ph water flush.

Yeah you are about a week ahead of me on mine. Im finally on day 21. When i read that post, I thought i read those pictures were on day 21. i was so jealous! I hope mine come along by day 26!
And thats good news about one extra feeding. Every little bit helps!

You know, I don't think I've posted the exact process I use when flushing each week, but it seems like it would almost be the same. I have been flushing each girl with ~3 gals of straight RO, waiting about 10-15 min. for the soil to drain, then I would give them one more gallon of RO with around 450 PPMs made up of Cal-Mag, Hygrozyme and Budswel. Do you think this would harm them any?

The day following the flushes are the days I see the biggest changes in the plants. The leaves always look like they are trying to give me a :high-five:.

OK, so yesterday morning I saw a leaf that was bugging me way down low on my big girl. There was a popcorn bud right next to it... my vision is damn near perfect but when I went to snip off the leaf, I took the nug off too. I figured "Oh well", it would have just got ground up into hash anyway :thumb:.

I trimmed it up a bit, wrapped it in a paper towel and placed it next to my exhaust duct. Last night before bed I wanted to smoke so I could get some sleep, so I said eh, I'm gonna try some Mary-Kate :) It was still a bit damp but smokeable. It wasn't as harsh as I thought it would be but the smoke was a bit harsh none the less. The taste was a curveball though, a faint sweet and tart, much like drinking a diet Sprite :rofl:

A few minutes later I had the craziest Sativa head high! Felt like my head was 10 inches off my body. It was so weird, I've never got that feeling from any weed before. Probably cause I've never smoked such young stuff :) I have a feeling this is gonna be some strong shit!

:thankyou: This strain is supposed to get really frosty towards the end from the few grows I've seen...The only thing I can think of is the Butt-smell...uh, I mean Budswel :thumb:

I have half of the nug I smoked left and I'm drying it a bit more. I'm going to smoke it with wifey tonight since she was asleep already last night.:lot-o-toke:

Also, farnorth helped me remember my flowering days are not the same as 12/12 days :) so it looks like our feeding discussion will apply a few days later than we discussed. I'm OK with that though :thumb: as I still have time for :MoreNutes:

I'm determined to catch up on journals today! Away I go...

That's great, bro! It did look like you were about a week or so early on considering the Overdrrive when we last discussed it. I actually just started the Overdrive today on my AK earlier today, so looking forward to what the next couple of weeks bring for us both. :high-five:

Very impressive what a pack of CLFs can do when they are determined. I love how "unconventional" grows are successful. When I first started with an LED my buddy thought it was a waste of time, all he knew was HID, HPS type lights. Glad to see that there are many ways to grow that are able to produce great results. It proves all of the bashers wrong.

Thanks for the kind words, it's appreciated my friend. In the beginning I sort of felt like I was settling for CFLs due to my budget. But after seeing so many great grows I became excited about it and built my light :). For a small scale grower they really are ideal but that doesn't mean they can't be used in a larger setting as well.

Grows like yours are an awesome example of the capabilities of LEDs. I have been reading up a lot on LED lighting because I seriously believe their use will only keep increasing. I may actually be in the position to test a new LED light in the near future. Really cool stuff, I'll let you know more about it when I can.
