Well, I received another gift today from the shop I go to... Some AN Bud Candy! Those guys are so freaking cool. They were a bit surprised at the way the plants are growing with the CFLs . I'm very grateful, they have been so helpful and generous since the day I first stepped through their door. They've got a customer for life.

Looks like they're gonna make you an AN convert!

FYI...Bud Candy you use through the entire bloom cycle, right up to flush. In hydro, AN recommends 1.6ml/gallon throughout bloom, but they may recommend more for hempy style growing where the roots aren't soaking in the nute solution 24x7. I can tell you their technical support is as great as their nutes!

My nutes are like a patch-quilt now ... Little bit of this, little bit of that . This grow is constantly changing and evolving... Much like my plants.

Since I'm still on the first grow, I really am open to try anything reasonable. With so many products out there I don't think I could use them all if I grew for 20 years. I'm just happy the things I've used so far have worked as well as they have.

Question on the Bud Candy... I was told AN changed it somewhat recently and that the label has changed as well. Does anyone know what has changed though? I guess the old label had like 70+ things listed as "Derived From..."

OK, so I have found a few amber trichs tonight on Ashley on a few of the leaves so maybe I'm closer than I think? Is it common for amber to show at all at this early in the flower stage? I want some couch lock anyway but now I'm a bit worried, something seems weird.

I always see some amber no matter how early I look, but it's usually just the odd trich here and there. You look like you've got quite a few. 2700 cfls can also make the trichs look amber so make sure you're looking under white light.

There's no rule that says you have to harvest the whole plant at once. You may want to sample some of the buds where you're seeing so much amber and see what's up.

That is a really good point that I didn't think of...the 2700 may be giving you some false looks.

I noticed that with the HPS I'm running. When I trich check, I pull the plants out of the box entirely and then close it up so the light doesn't influence the color. They are a little prism like and reflect light...or a least appear to..

Although, the pic sure makes it look like the entire leaf has an amber hue to it..fucking gorgeous!

GF, you know I love having you around too!

I was thinking the same thing about the bulbs and colors when I got up this morning, guess I was dreaming about my girls again . When I checked them again today I used my bright white LED flashlight to see if it was coloring caused by the CFLs, but it wasn't... Crap. There seem to be more of them today and even some of the smaller buds down in the canopy have amber on them as well.

I may just try and flush her and chop her soon. Her buds have been thickening up much faster than my big girl, but even she looks like she's swelled up over the last two days. I got a sample nug from little Ashley and I'll try her out. Plus if she's out of there Mary-Kate will get the light all to herself.

I'm hoping the guy I got these from can shed a little light on this, but I keep thinking that the stress the girls had on them in the beginning changed them. I didn't have time to check all the buds for amber before lights out, so I guess I'll figure out a plan today and decide what to do after I check them tonight.

Hey man...Lookin' nice! Sure you can't go a little longer there? Well, I'm hoping you can. Lookin' like you're gonna have some nice gear no matter. I would suggest pruning what is ready. Usually the lower 25% of the plant will be ready if others at the top are showing cloudy/amber. If you take that off the plant will focus it's energy on the bigger buds. The pruning at this point will hardly stunt the plant. Those buds may even take a week or longer to finish because they will explode with new growth. JMO man.

This is my first grow so I'm trying to figure that one out still. Amber trichs have showed up at day 58 of the entire grow, I'm on day 35 of 12/12 so it's a bit confusing.

I appreciate any thoughts and ideas from whoever wants to throw something out there.

I've NEVER heard of a strain that's even close to finishing in 35 days. What strain are you growing? What's the listed finishing time in weeks?

I've grown for years and I've noticed that some seed companies will claim that a particular strain will finish in 8 weeks, when in fact, it will not and takes more like 10 weeks. Check the trichs and let them tell you what to do but if you're in doubt it is my advice to wait until they've flowered for 63-70 days.

I feel like everything I've learned has left my brain. I could probably figure out California's budget problems easier than I could this. Of course I wasn't prepared to start harvesting in the fifth week of flower either.

Just so my spinning head can understand, prune the bottom 1/4 of the plant and leave the main tops? I would think I could hold out until next weekend to chop the whole girl plus that would give me more time to flush anyway.

I'm not trying to be lazy but when does the amount of amber trichs pass the point where the THC starts going south? I'm going to read up on it...

The strain is P91. Only thing I've really learned about it is that it's supposedly a Northern Lights cross or an inbred NL. It's also clone only. I'm trying to get ahold of the grower I got them from but no luck yet. Supposed to be a 60 day finish.

Well the book says that you don't want to get into 100% trich's as that's a late harvest.

You could be right, the early stress could've caused a chemical imbalance requiring not only therapy but a regimen of meds to ease the pain

You know those Olson twins!!

Go with your gut...check the trichs and see how you feel..I think a bud check, smoke check is definitely the call here.

I haven't cause I didn't experience anything like this and mine appear to be right on time.
