Outdoor Growing With BeezLuiz

Looks like the Candida fairy left you some good ones!
Nice training on the wide one..👍

The indoor Candidas are doing great right now.
Candida #1 is 67 days from sprout and is now 21 inches tall.
Candida #2 is also 67 days old and is now 26 inches tall. I raised the lights a couple of inches again today. I flipped the lights about 6 days ago and finally I can confirm they are both females. :yahoo:

I'll update the outdoor plant next time. :peace:

Here's an update of my outdoor plant - Obama Runtz.
It's doing pretty well and getting close to the harvest window. Currently at 178 days above ground and flowering for about 74 days. It stopped growing at 57 inches tall.
The colas were starting to get a little floppy so I added more stakes and tied them up. I'll try to remember to take a pic of its floppiness once I remove all the stakes at harvest time. I recently found my first caterpillars of the season. Pretty small and just a little bit of bud damage. Prior to that, I got a little lazy about spraying and missed a week, so this was not a big surprise.

I'm generally happy with the buds and structure. I once grew an Obama Runtz indoor that had much frostier buds and much denser as well. I'm feeling like that's the biggest difference between indoor and outdoor growing for me. All of my frostiest buds have been grown indoors. That said, my indoor plants came from some dispensary bag weed that my son's friend "thinks" was Obama Runtz... maybe he was mistaken.

I decided to snip a bud off the plant so that I could get a decent microscope inspection of the trichomes, and then dry it and smoke-test it. My conclusion is that it still needs a week or so. I still see some fresh pistil stigmas. There are some cloudy trichs, but still a lot of clear. Some amber, but I don't pay much attention to them because they are also clear, and outdoor grows get early amber due to the sun. Here's some pics:

The indoor Candida #2 was getting out of hand with its growth, so I did another, more elaborate session of LST.
Now there's barely any room left for the other Candida, which did not get any topping nor LST -- and it's obvious.

Just a couple of days later, here's what it looks like, with a bunch of new potential top buds.

Here's a single branch that I pulled down flat. Just two days after doing this, you can already see how the lower bud sites are now stretching upward to become top-side buds.

Man, she's a grower!
Good thing you only grew 2...

Otter and I both warned you about letting the interior get too dense! I still recommend clearing out all the inside stems to pump up all that new growth.
Yes, indeed. I've already cleared out a lot of the interior growth, but I need to give it another round of pruning again.
Good thing you only grew 2...
For sure! I guess I wasn't paying close enough attention when Shed made his seeds. I thought they would be "regulars" instead of "females", so I planted two in hopes of getting one female.

A week or so ago, I thought my outdoor Obama Runtz needed another week or so to ripen. It's getting pretty close now and maybe sometime this week I'll begin the harvest. The plant is now 190 days above ground and has been flowering for about 85 days. I need to scope the trichomes in the next day or two to verify the doneness, but I thought I'd share some pics in the mean time.

Those runtz make me wanna bury my face in a nugget and take a big whiff!!
:cheesygrinsmiley: Those buds do smell very nice!
Looks so green and healthy and no where near like a plant on the verge of senescence!
I, on the other hand, am a poster child of senescence. :laughtwo:

I've seen some evidence of caterpillar damage, but not very bad yet. I've been spraying weekly... mostly, but have slipped to 10 or 14 days between sprays a couple of times. When I do spray (always in the mornings), some of the fan leaves get a little burned and unsightly, but I'd rather have some ugly fan leaves, than some dead buds. I'm wanting to get this harvested before it gets worse, or the damp weather starts to promote bud rot. I'll be heading to SoCal for a couple of days on the 31st (David Gilmour at the Hollywood Bowl), so I want everything finished before then.

My indoor Candidas are doing pretty well, although I saw signs of spider mites setting up shop on #2. I sprayed it with insecticidal soap and am hopeful I can keep them under control for a few more weeks. Today I noticed the beginnings of a leaf issue. So far, just a few fan leaves are showing this.
I'm not sure what it might be - maybe nutrient burn or light stress? As a start, I gave both plants a thorough flush and raised the lights a couple more inches.

Since I had the plants outside for the flush, I figured I'd take a couple pictures while I was at it.

Candida #1 didn't get any topping or LST, and as expected, it started to look like a xmas tree. I decided to at least bend the top branch down a bit so that the lower buds could better develop.

The plants were flipped about 24 days ago and flowering so far for about 18 days. Here's a couple shots of the #2 plant:
