Our Ongoing Grows

You know Miss J's son smoked some and said it was too spacey for his likeings.. Most really like it as a strain.. I've grown three plants from seed.. All seemed close to the same pretty stable anyways.. But next year as temps drop I plan on growing afew more out, work abit with the strain and get the grow process dailed in.. Great strain,,, Has all the big four,, smell, taste, look, and is plenty stoney.. Alittle time spent with her and I feel she'll improve abit.. But I put this one a solid 9 outta 10 on my judgment scale.. Bear in mind I've never had a perfect 10 before,, and never will,, so I'll keep looking.. This might take awhile... Keepem Green

Looks great I just chopped my acid

No one really answered. Keep the cover off or on?? Im using it so I can go work on the tent during sleep time if need be. Nice to know it helps them finish better too? I wonderd if ok to just leave it on but figured why waste. Nice to know leave it on the last month but do I take the lense cover off??? Toasted I will take a pic with the cover off, but its just an 18" bulb. I just spent $40. on a 18" B.light bulb and housing and two 48" bulbs. I hope I did good?? According to your answer jandre, hell yea its ok to be on when theyre sleeping, in fact leave it on 24/7 the last month cause it makes them better! Did I understand this correctly and do I take the cover off? Great Day!!

actually, it was answered. You must have just missed it. here it is again:

Ok i know this would be a lot of effort lol but take a pic of the light turned on with the cover on and one with the cover off. Then we could tell ya. Havent seen a blacklight like that before!

OK peoples,,, Congrats on a harvest there Cannoisseuras,, she looks pretty frosty there.. Dutchess,, I myself don't think a blacklight is worth the electricity.. I'd put some daylight tubes in it myself.. Daylight compliments HPS in a flower room real well. If the plant hardly recognizes it,, and it's not a major part of the Par index. I'd sure be uneasy with daylight on during the dark cycle period. I mean I flip on a green light if I forgot something,, but even I stay out during their nights unless I'm just running in and out..
Well I do have the Mind Cant'rol out in the office waiting for Miss J to go to work on it.. Like it's going to take more than afew minutes, great flower to leaf ratio,, well she's sitting here and the camera is there and well,,

Well I had another pic,, but it got lost in translation... Keepem Green

She looks like a real yielder. I bet outdoor she could be a real monster if she's right on time.

Thanks, peoples.. Con these wood never finish out here,,, but you can bet come fall I'll have a large enough plant that I can fill up my 24 unit cloners for some of the first indoor flip next year,, even if I have to supplement alittle lighting at nights to keep her vegging. I want half the room Mind Cant'rol and maybe a Cindy to round out the other half. She has to prove herself first.. This Mind Cant'rol grow a shorter bush,, not much in the stertch department, but handles topping real well. I hope for oover four oz of this one. She's alittle over 2'. Buds are solid and sticky. Here's the plant;

I went under brighter light for these pic's.. I know it's boring but bear with me.. Going to be awhile before I turn out some more flowers, wait I have a crippled Rino about finishing up and going on the flush table in the next day or so.. But here's afew more pictures of the same buddage;

The black lights really no big deal. its just I was recommended dont go peak at them when theyre sleeping with a flash light any more, get a BLUE light for when you need to go in there while sleeping to peek or to work. I went to H.Depot and the light dude said there is no BLUE light you must mean a BLACK light. He said theyre called the same thing but theyre a BLACK light. WTF. So the 18 " has a white cover also but Im guessing Im picking this bitch apart too much and just run it and hope for the best. If it helps me get an answer I will take a pic of the 18" black light lit with its cover off and on. Ive already said its brighter with the cover on. Maybe Nebula knows? Great Day.

Haha I do the same thing. There is blue light it is scattered the most by our atmosphere which is why it is blue. Black is UV but may or may not be your safest bet. A safe bet would be green. Chlorophyll A is green, B is red, but A is more common and is green because it reflects the wavelengths of light that it doesn't want. Wavelength of light determine colour. It wants practically everything else in varying amounts including UV but I'm not sure if UV affects photoperiod sensing. Anyways hope this helps.

Green light dude... I have one in the ceiling fixture in there.. Alittle 14 watt green CFL... Never take a blue light in there.. Blue light being what most lamp manufactures call day light.. It can go all the way up to 6500K and the other is called warm light, which run like 2700K making them more yellow or 'soft'... But you don't want either of them going during your dark cycle.. You can get away with it during veg cycle,, but once they start flowering,, you can ruin your whole crop with hermies popping out pollen everywhere.. And I have no idea if plants regonize the black light.. Is a good question that will take alittle surfing later... Everyone,, Keepem Green

I still dont think blacklights are safe to use. Their spectrum still affects the plants just not in a good enough way to try to grow with. If you want a light for night time you should use green spectrum. I bought a green hornet it works perfectly

Not blue... GREEN... blue is what they use for photosynthesis... Green is reflected and not used, and is the reason they appear green.

Use a GREEN light for peeking during the "NIGHT/DARK" hours, not blue...

Well here I went opening my big fat mouth about how fortunate I was with germination rates in the seed department.. Well I'm backsliding,,
not making excuses but these seeds weren't the best-looking seed I've ever gotten,, but the first two cracked fast enough,, one isn't opening and the other,, well she hasn't shown herself above ground yet.. These are the two ugliest of the 4 C-99 seeds. I threw the last two on the towel tonight.. Regualr seeds too,, so my chance are getting slim again with this strain.. If these don't show,, I guess I'll have to try again.. Pimentation is a intersting thing huh Jandre?? Keepem Green

hheheh-yeah. Pigmentation. Interesting.

Sorry to hear about the bean poppin' woes.

I had a few auto quarter pounder beans that I couldn't get to pop. Only 1 out of 5 germinated successfully. Those quarter pounder seeds were some of the tiniest seeds I've ever seen in my life. It seems that its as if the smaller the bean the harder they are to germ but that's just my opinion.

Now I just hope that the single quarter pounder that I did manage to sprout comes through and surprises me in the yield department

Jandre,I never learnd to spell... But I knew what I meant... Cannoisseuras Alot of times it can help to score a seed.. I'm been known to fit a piece of course sandpaper into a small matchbox.. Put your seeds in it and shake it awhile.. It scratches the shell letting water soften up the shell making it easier to crack.. I've only had trouble with these C-99 seed and acouople of the Muay Thai seed. The C-99 seeds looked like crap kind of lighter colored than I like to see,, and irregular shape to acouple of them.. They did crack over night like a good viable seeds,, then petered out.. We'll see I have the other 2 going now,,, should be ready for dirt tonight I hope... I did the last 2 C-99's I have and acouple more of the Muay Thai..

Ok, I was trying to decide what dubie I wanted to try tonight.... And the Super Cheese is up to bat.. Was a great looking plant.. And cured into so good looking buddage.. This has been in a baggie in my humidor for acouple months.. I do smell a musty kind of smell indicative of a cheese variant. She was just a pretty bud that has some great color to it;
